I’m 3 weeks post op after gastric sleeve and most mornings I have dry heaving and nausea. I feel like I’m pregnant all over again (I’m not). If so does it ever go away?

Did you change your eating habits? The sleeve lessens what you eat but you still have to eat healthier for it to work long term.

I backed out the first time after my husband talked me out of it and always regretted it. I just finally had it done a few weeks ago and I only had gas pain in my chest the first day. By the next day I was fine and I don’t feel like I even walked that much but I have been told I have a high pain tolerance. It may depend also on how good of a job the doctor does getting the gas out before closing you up. My incision pain was nothing, I never really felt pain there or in my stomach. The hardest part for me is giving up solid foods for so long afterwards and acid reflux, I have felt pretty hungry. I lost 20 before surgery and I’m already down 37 pounds total so I feel like it was the right decision for me. I’m having dry mouth pretty bad at night and I’m very tired from lack of food and caffeine but that will all pass as I reintroduce solids and I’ve heard the dry mouth goes away too.

I'm having my surgery April 13th with Dr. Scott Stowers as well. The pre op liquid diet is rough but I'm guzzling down Protein like crazy cause I'm so hungry and just trying not to think about food. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'm scheduled for surgery this Wednesday but I did have a c section a year ago and it took me a week to have a bowel movement and that was with me eating solid foods. It's common, it's the pain pills that constipated you and I can imagine drinking only liquids makes it that much harder. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
