    Any Buffalo Ny Sleevers?

How's everyone doing? You guys are so quiet, lol!!! Just checking in!!! Hope all is well with my fellow sleevers!
  2. I'm going out to Red Lobster for lunch with a couple of friends from work today. They know I've been sleeved. I'm 6 weeks out and on soft foods. Any suggestions? This is my first time eating out since surgery and I really don't have an appetite for anything. Now, that's me saying that and I'm beyond shocked, lol!!!

    Cramps?

Just go with what you're tummy will tolerate. You're still swollen. It took me quite a while to tolerate some things I was OK'd for. Try those things next week. It may be tolerated then. Don't worry about it!!! Get you're fluids and proteins in. Can you tolerate greek yougurt or any light yougurts without fruits added?

    What To Order?

@Butterthebean, you're funny. Keep the 90 degrees. It feels like Fall here today!!! Enjoyed lunch, the few bites/spoonfuls I had. Ordered a cup of soup and an appetizer. My tummy handled all very well. BTW, I have plenty of leftovers. My friends contributed to my leftovers over my objections, lol!!! I'll freeze the soup for another day. I did order unsweetened tea with a lime and lemon slice, sometimes plain ice Water and my tummy aren't on good terms with one another!!! Kids!!! SMH!!! But, had a good time!

Well I Headed To The Hospital

    Wishing you the best!!!
  8. I haven't started the water exercises yet. There at the "Y" so I have to go and sign up.
  9. I was sleeved on July 30th and was down 34lbs when I went for my for my 2nd visit on 8/28! Hoping to be under 300lbs when I go back in October. I refuse to have a scale @ home right now and only go by the scale at my doctor's office. I'm just concentrating on getting my proteins/fluids in and exercise. Hopefully, he will clear me to start water exercises and weights.

    Not Eating And Gaining...

I can't imagine what you're going through right now! Being recently sleeved is difficult enough without another curve ball being thrown into the mix. So, now I'm going into mother mode. First, I'm sending you a great big hug!!! Your husband has to work his own demons out. But, as for you, "It's time to do you!!!". Follow the program your surgeon and NUT gave you. Go for walks, engage in whatever hobbies/activities brought you comfort. No, food is not in the equation. Just know you are special, beautiful, and a jewel and a precious one at that. Start loving and pampering you!!! People can only do what we allow them to do to us. You've got a whole support system here. It's rough, I know. You will get through it! So, we'll be expecting some pictures in the coming weeks/months on the emerging hottie that is within! Ok? Keep you're head up! One last hug:)

    Slime.....

I'm 7 weeks out and I've found that you really have to chew VERY well, wait about 5 minutes between bites and don't drink too soon before or after eating. The waiting @ least 5 min between bites gives your tummy a chance to signal whether it's ready for more or don't you dare take another bite!!! You have to concentrate on the meal, so you'll be aware of the signals your body is sending you. I, haven't slimed, thank God, yet and pray I never do. That would send me into a meltdown, lol!!! OMG, just gross. I love this forum, because I was a couple of days post op when I found it and joined. That was where I first heard of sliming. So, when I moved to pureed and even during the liquid phase I was very cautious.

    Tears

I, was showing my daughter the medical ID bracelet I planned on ordering for myself today. She said, she was so proud of me for taking charge of my health, that the bracelet would be her treat. My baby said, "pick out whatever you want. You deserve it"! Well, there came the waterworks!!! She was and is my support person. I'm so proud of the women she has become! But, she is still my baby girl. Now, she's getting a little thick, so I want to be an example for her on embracing a healthy lifestyle!

    Tears

It's for a medical ID tag bracelet. I'll post the link as soon as I can. I'm still learning how to use this phone, lol!!! My daughter pushed me into the smartphone age, SMH!!! If someone can post the link for me to "Lauren's Hope", I would really appreciate it! It might be 2013 before I can figure out how to do it, lol!!!

    Packing For Hospital

A beverage, water, etc., for the ride home would be good. My mouth was so dry, I couldn't take it. Had to stop on the way home and get something.

    Packing For Hospital

Bare basics!!! Toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, lotion, chapstick, phone, charger, and extension cord. Comfortable, loose fitting clothes or a loose dress. The bra is a toss-up. I couldn't wear mine home, so, the a cami it was. The TWINS were swinging free, lol!!!
  17. You look terrific!!! Keep the flow going!!!

    Musinex, Childrens Version

You really need to call your doctor. This is not something I would try to self diagnois or treat.

    Upset

Does your job have FMLA? Please don't call that person a boss. They're just someone that was placed in a leadership position, but lacking the leadership qualities necessary to be effective. That negative response you received was pure ignorance. If any one of my staff told me they would be out to have surgery for any kind of health issue, my concern would be for their safe and speedy recovery. Sure, you're absence might cause an increased workload for others temporarily, but, you'll be healthier and a more productive employee in the end. I'm sorry for ranting and raving, but I'm so sick and tired of managers/supervisors treating their staff with such a lack of civility or compassion, it makes me sick!!! Take care of yourself and I wish you the best, very best of luck!!! Let us know when you get on the loser's bench:)
  20. I use the Unjury unflavored protein powder to add to my greek yougurt, pudding, soup (make sure it's not too hot), etc., to boost the grams of protein. They also have a chicken flavored soup that I also added to my soups.

    Med Alert Bracelet

I apologize, it's Lauren's Hope. It's part of a company that makes very stylish medical alert jewelery for women, men, children. I, stumbled upon this company via another site. Jewelery is one of my weaknesses. They have such a wide variety and beautiful designs. I'm having info re: pre-exsiting medical conditions, allergy, no blind NG, and gastric sleeve.

    Med Alert Bracelet

I will be ordering one today from Laura's Hope. Not just because of my sleeve and NG insertion issue, but, also due to allergies and another medical condition.
