Pain waking me up - 15 months post op after gall bladder removal
TracyLynn posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi all, it has been a while since I have been on, but I need some help. I had surgery 15 months ago and have lost 130 lbs. Recently, I had pancreatitis caused by my gall bladder, I had surgery and had my gall bladder removed and now my pancreas is doing well. However, that was one month ago, and recently (last 2 weeks), occasionally, I have been waking up with severe pain in my lower abdomen and waking up hot at the same time. I usually take 2 extra strength Tylenol and the edge is taken off, and the pain is gone within half an hour, but this can't be normal as my gall bladder surgeon seems to think it is. I know the answer is to go see a doctor and I went to see my gynecologist, but I seemed to stump her and she gave me some pee tests to do. She did say I was dehydrated and that I need to drink more, so I have been. I was just wondering if anyone else has had anything like this. I don't know if this is related to my sleeve or my gall bladder, or what... but I need to know where to go from here.- 1 reply

Is my heart getting lazy?
TracyLynn replied to TracyLynn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks! I had not thought about it like that. Very helpful. Good luck to you. -
Hey all. I have not been exercising as much as I should. But it seems like my heart has gotten lazy. I was 100 lbs heavier and my heart rate was around 130bpm. Since August 2012 and with surgery, my heart rate is around 80bpm. I feel dizzy when I stand most of the times. I have also been very tired lately and yawning alot. I know I need to see a doctor about this, but I was wondering if anyone else had this happen. The doctor said if I did not exercise enough, my heart would become lazy. I feel like this has happened, but I feel to tired to exercise. It is like a catch 22. Did you experience this? What did you do?

So I had surgery in early August 2012 and I have a few questions and I guess I want to know that things I experience are normal. I feel as though I struggle with Protein intake. I heard that your body can only process so many grams of protein at a time and the rest is wasted, is this true? I was having a problem with caloric intake as well, but I think I am better, but not quite there yet. What are some good foods high in calories but low in fat? I have not gotten sick from overrating, I think it will hurt and I am scared to risk it. But I can still eat too much and when I do, I swear I can feel the food in my esophagus waiting for my belly to empty a bit. Is this normal? I have lost 64lbs since surgery. I am around 800 calories a day. I recently started jogging and lifting weights (if you can call it that, they are 2lbs each for my flabby arms). I feel healthier than ever and I am feeling like my old self again. Am I at a good point? Has anyone heard of or know of any good news articles relating to sleevers, I still find this all fascinating. Any news, views and hints are greatly appreciated.

Weight Loss - June Sleevers
TracyLynn replied to courtney333's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I was sleeved in August. I have lost 64 lbs since then. I seem to struggle with protein and was struggling with calories too, but when my doctor told me I should be consuming 800-1000 calories a day, I am trying to keep up. I don't want my body to go into starvation mode. But it's hard finding high calorie, low fat food. Since you are a few months further along, how are you doing? Any suggestions?Good luck! -
Yuuucky...over Ate
TracyLynn replied to steelergirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That stinks. I have not gotten sick as of yet. Surgery was in August. But I am afraid to. When I eat too much though, I swear I can feel the food in my esophagus just waiting to go to my belly. I wonder if that means something is wrong. Good luck with things. -
Hi all. I have lost 54 lbs since my surgery on August 14th. I feel I am at a good point now to move from walking to jogging. But I need help. The last time I jogged was in 1999 in gym class. But I decided to jog this past Monday. I did much better than I thought I would. Only thing is, the next day I felt my whole body ache and my shins felt like they had been jackhammered. I read online that it was normal for beginner joggers to feel sore the first few weeks. But I was so sore I felt it when I walked. I really want to start jogging. I think it will greatly help me. But do I jog through the pain? Do I wait until I don't hurt then jog again? Any tips or tricks? Any information or your experience would be greatly appreciated and hopefully I can become a happy jogger adding to weight loss and healthy behavior.

I drank wine about 4 weeks out. At my 2 month post op, my doctor approved me to drink my whiskey again!! I get hit hard and fast now with a little belly. I am a cheap date drink and dinner wise. I still cannot drink carbonated drinks. It hurts my belly.

Runny Nose When Full
TracyLynn replied to scaredoftheunknown's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a single hiccup when I am full. At that point I stop, my body is telling me I am done. I think it is a good thing. They say you need to listen to your body, I have been trying, but my body is doing so many new things, it is hard at times. -

I went to GNC, and they told me if I tried it and did not like it, I had 30 days to bring it back with the receipt. That is a good thing, cause a lot of them taste gross.

Five Weeks Out... Slow Loss?
TracyLynn replied to ShapeShifter's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you mind sharing the website? I would be curious to do the math for my body too. Also, I am loosing in numbers slower than I would like to see, but I feel and look a lot better than the numbers say. Also, I am ok with loosing like I am because then my skin has a chance to keep up, I don't want another surgery to get rid of skin. I know I will loose it! -

I am not sure, but at about 5 weeks out I felt good as new and was able to wear heels.

Diet Coke Junkies
TracyLynn replied to change4life2012's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used to drink Diet Coke all the time, now I drink caffine free Diet Coke after it has gone flat. That way I get my Diet Coke fix and my belly is happy. -

Old Habits Are Hard To Break, The Art Of Not Wasting Food
TracyLynn replied to CamarilloCA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
CamerilloCA, great topic, I have such a problem with this. I have not eaten so much I have made myself sick yet, but I feel sometimes I eat too much. If I have a bowl or plate of something, if there are two bites left, I feel like I have to eat them, or I will waste it. Then I go from being satisfied to being full. Anyone have any tips to stop this? I think oh I should not waste, or there are people starving how can I throw it away, or I spent good money on that, or someone took a long time to make that. I feel guilty to waste, but sometimes it is nessessary, I feel as though it will harm me instead of help if I keep eating a bit too much. So here are my questions, any ideas or tips or thoughts to be able to not 'have' to eat it all? Also, any tips or ideas on freezing food? I don't know what I can freeze or how long it can be frozen.
