40 And Pregnant 7 Months Out
TracyLynn replied to andi0120's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
My Grandma had my Uncle when she was in her 40's. My Dad was 16 then, he was dating my Mom and they took him out and they had fun having a young brother to watch out for. Good luck to you! -
This is a great way to do things. I was so worried about stalls, but looking at myself and the way my clothes fit, my body is changing for the better. Muscle weighs more then fat, right? Also, in the beginning of diets (or surgery) you loose Water weight, so now it is coming back I think. I have not seen the scale move as drastically as I thought I would but the changes in my body are significant. Good luck, the scale can drive a person crazy!

I had asked this too, here: http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/51371-medical-id-tag-or-braceleti/ I ended up ordering one from Lauren's Hope yesterday, here: http://www.laurenshope.com/ They have very nice pieces. A bit costly, I spent $80. But I figure it will last a long time, has a chain that can be changed and it is a good thing to have. I can't wait to get it in!

Thanks everyone! What is a blind Ng? Is it a feeding tube placed without ultrasound or scans? It is a good idea I think. I will order one. -
Traveling After Surgery
TracyLynn replied to mamitalosingit's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not travel by plane or far, but I was sleeved on 8/14. I had a one week post op and had to get home after surgery. My surgeon is about 1.5 hours away from me (I live in a small town). So riding in the car home and back for a check up, I had to hold my belly in the car. Bumps and potholes would jiggle my belly and hurt a bit. I was ok though. Hope that helps. Good luck. Have fun in Chicago! -
First Full Day Of Work Today
TracyLynn replied to elisa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do not know if this will help you or not. But I am 3.5 weeks out. I used to love Gatorade and Powerade, but now I have not found a single flavor I can tolerate. They nauseate me now like they are too sweet. So I don't know what to say about the eating, but maybe try another drink. Good luck!! -
Starting To Get Noticed.....the Good And The Bad..
TracyLynn replied to init4me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Smacking them is a good idea! Ha ha, but really what you said to the guy working on the machines was good, we are all the same person that we used to be, just with less weight. I look forward to making snide comments to rude people. I am still in the can't yet tell unless you are with me all the time stage. Good luck! -
So Upset! May Have To Re-Do The Surgery!
TracyLynn replied to Believer's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow, something seems very odd about that to me, like maybe the doctor should pay for the mistake. I am 3.5 weeks out and I can only hold about 1/4 cup max of food, usually it is 1/8 cup. I hope all goes well with you. Good luck! -
Am I Crazy? My Taste And Sense Of Smell Has Changed...
TracyLynn replied to TracyLynn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great article, thanks for sharing! I guess the not being able to tollerate sweets as much is a good thing. There are just a lot of changes my body is going through that I need to get used to. Thanks everyone. -
Am I Crazy? My Taste And Sense Of Smell Has Changed...
TracyLynn replied to TracyLynn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so curious about this. I wonder if the ghrelin has something to do with it. I guess most of my changes in taste are for the better, but still a mystery. -
Hey all, I will talk to my doctor about this, but I was wondering if anyone has had a weird pain to the left of their bellybutton? It is a sharp pain and only when I move certain ways or use my stomach muscles. I am 17 days post op. This pain was here before, but it went away fast, it is lasting longer this time. Any ideas?

This Surgery Does Work, Right?
TracyLynn replied to doxieville's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 17 days post op and I cannot eat or drink enough to make my calories, protein or liquids. If I added my Protein Shakes and liquids, it is hard to make 64oz. Do you have any hints or tips? -
I am not up to chicken yet, but I tried the baked ricotta, WOW, that was great!!! Thanks!

My turds float since surgery. I poop everyday, but I used to poop alot more. I think I was full of ****. Ha ha. But my pee is dark in the morning and both smell different. Gross I know, but I have lived with my crap all my life. I couldn't help but notice. Good luck.

"never Eat" And My Clothes Today
TracyLynn replied to SkinnyOnMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yay! I plan on donating my clothes too. I am keeping one outfit to remind me of where I was and don't want to go back to. I could not handle spicy food before surgery, I can't imagine now. -

Antidepressents Pre Or Post Op
TracyLynn replied to jaxtr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been on antidepressants for 8 years now. I have a few other issues too and some of the meds have been big time meds. I am doing better as years go by, but no where neagenerating off my meds. My meds keep me 'normal', not sad and monotone. I got my sleeve two weeks ago and I feel great. No matter what your sadness is from, it is nice to feel healthier, prettier and more noticed. I have lost 20 lbs now post op and it makes me happy finally seeing the scale go down. I took my meds the night before surgery, close to midnight and then I took them the day after surgery. I will say though, I did not have a relationship with food as some do. I heard this can make things hard. I just never felt full, so I ate. And I ate out of boredom too. I also heard that loosing the weight makes you sad too cause of hormones in the fat cells. This has made me perhaps more ho hum at times. But overall I feel great. Good luck!!!!! -
Help, Emotional Issues Right Before My Surgery Date!
TracyLynn replied to vssupermodel's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh man, that stinks, good luck with things. I am only two weeks out, but glad I had the surgery, I am in a stall right now and still happy. I did it for me. I know it will be hard on your own, but focus on yourself for a while. Make yourself happy and healthy. I don't know why he left, maybe he was affraid. I know some poeple seem to be jelous and upset thinking I will loose weight, that I will no longer be 'the fat one'. They don't come out and say it, but that is what it feels like. Good luck. Make yourself your priority! -
I am only two weeks out but I thought I would share my hunger feelings. Sometimes I feel hungry, really hungry, like I could eat like I used to, hunger pains like I used to have too. But when I eat something, I can only eat about 1/8 cup and then I am full. My sleeve is no longer empty but the hunger remains. For me, I know it is head hunger, and I am working through it. It is getting better, but it is a long process. Good luck to you two.

298 To 204... Almost To 100!
TracyLynn replied to Neese's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow! That is inspiring! Good job, keep it up! -
Me too, I try to walk in the evenings and if it is still too hot then, I try to go to Target or the mall. I live in Arizona, but luckily at a high elevation so it is not too bad, it cools off at night a bit. I am worried, I do not want to be stuck inside on a treadmill or walking in stores. I want to walk outside and take my dog.
