Nov Sleevers... What's Your Status?
AngelEyesInNJ replied to Yasmine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is awesome!! Good Luck to you as well We are all doing great!! -
Oh man, not good. Hopefully your doctor will be able to help you out. In the meantime maybe you can try some pedialyte popsicles, this should help keep you hydrated if your able to get them in. Or just the regular pedialyte if cold things cause problems.

Nov Sleevers... What's Your Status?
AngelEyesInNJ replied to Yasmine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved 11/8 - Weight 282 1 week post-op: 268 -14lbs 2 weeks post-op - 265 -3lbs (17lbs total) 3 weeks post-op - 262 -3lbs ( 20lbs total) 1 month post-op - 258 -4lbs (24lbs total since surgery) I make sure I get at least 60grams of Protein everyday (usually by protein shakes) and then I eat maybe an additional 9 grams throughout the day and calories are around 600-640 a day. I haven't started to exercise yet, but soon enough! -
Are you taking any medications (maybe one of them can be causing it?) Are you getting sick after eating or after waiting and then drinking? ( I know I need to wait an hour after eating before I can drink otherwise I am sick) Have you been in touch with your doctor? I wish I knew the answer to help you feel better because I know what it is like to get sick

How long ago were you sleeved? I hope you feel better soon!

AngelEyesInNJ replied to jenniferhm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 4 weeks out today also and I too am starting to eat a little more of everything but making sure I chew and chew and chew. Grazing I have no idea how to do that haha. I say that because I try to drink all day long ( I struggle with getting 64oz in) and before a meal I have to wait at least 30-45mins and then after I eat I have to wait an hour .. I have no time right now to graze Keep up the great work ! 31lbs down is awesome!! -
I spoke to my PCP beforehand and explained everything to her and she agreed to treat me afterwards. I actually went yesterday to see her and she said I was "Brave" and that she should recommend people to go to Mexico if they can't afford it here in the US

Ulceritis 5 Months Post Up Has Anyone Had This?
AngelEyesInNJ replied to marie110's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am sorry you are dealing with this, I wonder if this was caused because of too much acids in the new stomach? I am 4 weeks out today and went to my pcp yesterday and she gave me Nexium to take once a day she mentioned it was to help my stomach heal. I do not have much acid reflux anymore but I will give it a shot and to me I guess maybe our tummies are still producing a lot of acid and do not realize to slow down? or maybe we just cant eat enough to absorb it all in the beginning (just my thoughts, I may be way wrong lol) As for hair loss are you getting your Protein in? I am taking Biotin (they say it is supposed to help with the hair loss). I hope you feel better! -
How Long Do Follow Ups Last?
AngelEyesInNJ replied to mezanne1401's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It may be best to ask your doctor, everyone's seems to be different. I had my surgery in Mexico and I was told to visit my pcp at 1 month and then again at 3 months. Good luck with your move! -
I know sometimes corn startch may help and I have heard deodorant helps under the breast when sweat causes rashes, may help with yours. Always best to ask a doctor for sure the best way

Gap Insurance For Complications -- Self Pay
AngelEyesInNJ replied to 2013isit's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Have you checked to see if you would be covered under the ER portion of coverage? I know my health insurance company does not cover anything in regards to WLS .. but when I asked what if I need to go to the ER for something after surgery and I was told I would be covered because it is an ER visit. Insurances are just all so different and confusing I know it sucks! -

Yes they mail it back to you, i received my birth certificate back 2 days after the passport arrived. Do you have to rush your passport or do you have enough time for normal processing? what is making you worried? -
Enjoy yourself and take advantage of the bed... oh my goodness if I could have taken it home I would have lol Keep us posted!!

I didn't know "no" coffee I just thought no caffeine. I use decaffeinated coffee in some of my Protein drinks and I don't have a problem. Maybe this is something to further talk to your doctor about if there are major concerns about it.

Newbie Sleeve Done 11/27
AngelEyesInNJ replied to deedeemuffin's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Water was very hard for me I had to stop ( my doc said its normal a lot of people have trouble with water) and I drink Powerade zero or gateorade. I was told not to worry about getting my Protein in the first week but just try to get fluids in to keep hydrated. You may also want to try pedialyte popcicles they were my savior! I am a little over 3 weeks out now and still have them since I do not get all my fluids in. As for walking.. to be honest I stopped after I got home which was i think 5 days after surgery and I mainly walked because of the gas pains but they were gone in about 2 days. Are you able to check with your doctor to see what he/she recommends? -

Oh and one more thing, it may be a good idea to keep your compression stockings for the plane ride home. My flight was 5 1/2 hrs and it put my mind a little more at ease wearing them since you can't really walk laps on a plane -

I actually used the hospital gown the whole time I was there and just put on loose pants underneath to help hold the drain. I couldn't really sleep while I was there because of the pain meds (made me sick) so I had the tv on the whole time. It was still dark enough for me, but I'm not one that falls asleep in total darkness. I agree to bring neosporen I found u would need it while back at the hotel. While in the hospital after the showers the nurses change the bandages and clean u up ..and oh my goodness the antiseptic spray they use does its job but to me it was stinky lol. I also shared the room with my sister ( she came with me as my support person) so instead of walking laps around the floor I just walked in my room, I felt more comfortable that way and I was able to watch tv while doing so . -

I was sleeved 11/8/12 and at the 2 week mark I was down 17lbs.. I weigh in again this thurs ( I vowed to do it once a week). I think it depends on the person though and not the surgeon. People all heal up at different paces and with that are able to eat/drink more then others or some can exercise while others may not be able to or just may not be doing it. Just lots of things to take into consideration I am very please with my results I am happy with the scale but even more please with the inches that I seem to be losing to me that speaks in volumes. I have not measured but clothing is fitting differently and just so excited about that! Good Luck! -

How Much Did Price Affect Your Decision?
AngelEyesInNJ replied to SerendipityHappens's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Price did play a factor for me as well but I also did the research and went with Dr. Fernando Garcia in Tijuana. I am 16 days post-op and feeling great! Good luck on your search and your journey! Can't wait to see you on the losers bench -
