Who did you book through. Below is part of what was sent to me I had surgery 11/8 PRE-OP INSTRUCTIONS START THIS DIET 7-14 DAYS PRIOR TO SURGERY Use any prepared canned or powdered protein drink. You may purchase these in any health food store or many grocery stores. Please be sure it contains at least 15 grams of protein per serving. 1 protein drink at breakfast 1 protein drink at lunch Dinner: Salad with Protein (chicken, fish, egg, etc), small amount of low fat dressing, or fat free dressing or olive oil and vinegar. 1 protein drink in the evening if needed You may also take 1 Metamucil capsule per day if needed for hunger. Start this phase 3 days before surgery: Take a laxative (any laxative that you usually use). Take only clear liquids after that. This consists of broth, Jell-o, sugar-free juice, any clear liquid You may have nothing to eat or drink after the midnight preceding surgery or 8 hours prior to your surgery. If you are a Same Day Surgery arrive with an empty stomach. If you are coming in a day prior you may have dinner but nothing after midnight. You may take needed medications (such as heart or blood pressure medications) with sips of water the morning of surgery as directed by our Doctors. Hope that helps some -

A couple that went back across the border with us only showed their birth certificates and license and there were no problems, I had my passport but either should be ok.

Drinking and eating
AngelEyesInNJ replied to meford's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me I get sick if I drink too soon after I eat (so that scares me from even thinking of drinking while eating), but I have heard the same thing as others mentioned that it will flush out the food and cause you to be hungry sooner. I can eat Cereal with half a cup of milk with no problems though.. odd huh? lol -
I hate this surgery.

I can only go based on my experience and at the time people that were also there. I know someone that had gone with Alighterme and was not please and liked how Ready4Achange was with their patients. But I have heard good things about a lighter me also, I think the best thing to do is ask questions upfront to both before making the commitment. Ready4Achange - My experience They gave me a goodie bag with chapstick, bandages the tape a note book folder with information They also took us shopping (well I didn't go my sister went along with other sleevers and their support) Meli was a blessing for me in the hospital when it came to talking to the nurse or doctor when I was having an issue with the IV Rosie was great about helping out in the hotel and giving me info that I needed Sammuel picked me up and dropped me off with perfect timing Everyone was there for me whenever I reached out and I liked it alot. Even when I had questions pre-op Alma always got back to me quickly. -

How do you not go broke?
AngelEyesInNJ replied to lilbearzmom's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am fortunate that I work from home so I do not have to worry about work clothes per say and when I go out since I only have maybe 1 pair of jeans that actually fit now (the others I would have been able to get away with using a belt but I also lost some of my behind so I have saggy butt syndrome when wearing bigger jeans lol) I normally wear yoga type pants, and just stay casual. I also say Ebay is a great place, I actually have some jeans sizes 22-24 that I have up there. I haven't even hit my work clothing (when I did go to the office) or dress up clothes I need to though to clear out space lol -
Ya'll are doing great! Today is my 2 month mark and I am down 37lbs since surgery and 58 all together. Keep up the great work

Medical Tag/Bracelet Curiosity
AngelEyesInNJ replied to ISleevedIt's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi, There was another thread in regards to the same thing I pasted the link below so you are able to see others responses as well . It seems to be a personal preference. I was looking into a Medical bracelet and this is what my Dr. had said. A blind nasograstric tube can maybe harm a small pouch in a gastric Bypass, since you have a VSG a NSG tube will pass and maybe stay long enough before it can harm you (you have a 3 line stapling and a prolene suture above the staples, so the tube wont penetrate your sleeve it would stay but wont fit al the tube long). NSAID's can be a NO NO after the surgery, they cause gastric irritation and discomfort, they wont put you in any danger if an emergency would appear, neither the aspirin, you will need to take them for some time to really cause you the trouble, if you have an inflammatory process or some articular pain, a couple of days of ibuprofen wont kill you if you take the measures needed, like taking prilosec before administrating the pill or just taking the pill followed by some ingestion of food. I still think a bracelet noting I had VSG would be a good idea, along with no Blind NG Tube. I originally was going to place no NSAIDS and No Aspirin but from what my doctor said I may just place a note saying a small amount or just leave it off because I would rather have either of them in a life or death situation rather then just death because they seen I wasnt supposed to have it. Just thought I'd share http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/51371-medical-id-tag-or-braceleti/page__hl__%2Bmedical+%2Bbracelet -
any November sleevers?
AngelEyesInNJ replied to almiita06's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can visit myfitnesspal.com and log everything in online, I use the computer more then I do the phone app, I think it will help you. With the shakes I use unjury so I normally try to switch it up here and there sometimes I will add ice , 1 tsp of instant caffine free coffee, 1 cup of lactose free fat free milk and 1 scoop of the vanilla protein and it tastes like a frappacino (sp?) a bit. -

AngelEyesInNJ replied to almiita06's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG!! I thought it was just me! My protein shakes sit so heavy on my tummy now too that is why I have been trying to experiement with foods to try to get all my protein. I use myfitnesspal just to log in foods to see the nutrional value, I also use a scale and measuring cups to be able to record everything acurately. If I make something do not finish I just go back and readjust my portion size in myfitnesspal to what I have eaten so I can stay on point. I think the best thing to do is if you are able sign up for myfitness pal they even have the app for your phone or keep a journal but I do find myfitnesspal to be the best since most foods are already in there I also struggle at times getting all 64oz of fluids in, doesn't seem like there is enough time in a day. -
any November sleevers?
AngelEyesInNJ replied to almiita06's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh my Bless you, your my inspiration. I couldn't hit 120 gr of protein for my life right now unless I drank protein shakes all day. If you don't mind my asking at what point were you told 120 gr was the protein goal? Thanks -
any November sleevers?
AngelEyesInNJ replied to almiita06's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved the same day 11/8 . I eat pretty much what ever I want but chew chew chew is the key. I mostly eat like others grilled chicken, chicken salad, egg salad, turkey meatballs, turkey Bacon, I've had piece of quesadilla but I can't eat much of the tortilla, normally pick the chicken out of it. I also have Cereal in the mornings now sometimes but I let it get super soggy its the special k Protein Yummers! For me its trial and error at this point and let me tell ya my sleeve let's me know when its not happy. I still do Protein shakes to hit 60gr of protein, and as the days pass I get better at getting all my fluids in. -
Yay got at least 60gr of protein with out a shake today!
AngelEyesInNJ posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am so happy to know that it is possible to meet Protein intake without shakes or drinks. I hit 63gr today normally I will drink 2 shakes a day for the 60gr and any protein from food was a bonus. Sorry just had to share with others that would understand, my boyfriend just looked at me with a blank face like I was a nut when I got excited over this. The last time I got this excited was when I realized I had a collar bone ( My first NSV) Happy New Year everyone!!! ( I know I am a little early) -

I am still new to all of this (have a lot of learning to do) so I am sure I may be racking up somewhere else like carbs or calories and I shouldnt be, it was mostly the Snacks and today was my first day trying them but they are super high in calories and carbs so I think they may be an every other week snack lol. I am going to try adding cottage cheese, eggs, yougart...and see if I can reach at least 60gr again as these are foods that I also eat but haven't been logging everything in everyday (Shame on me). This is actually a concern of mine so I only take my BP pill one time a day instead of 3 times .. I know this may not be good but I am feeling ok with once a day, if I get a headache or see the stars then I take another. -
