Eating before surgery?
AngelEyesInNJ replied to jenger's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, I was told be be on clear liquids 3 days before the surgery so no food. I think everyone's doctor and instructions are different though, you should probably check with them, they may just say nothing in your tummy after midnight -

Need a medication for MAJOR MIGRAINES.
AngelEyesInNJ replied to Masko5's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used to swear by execdrine and was going bonkers when it was pulled last year lol. Since surgery I've only had one bad migrane, other then that I've been migrane free and I used to get them at least once or twice a week, makes me think it was something in the foods I was eating. I hope yours go away also -

How much protein do I need?
AngelEyesInNJ replied to canadianchick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was also selfpay, at a min I do 60 grams but normally at least 80. I actually double my protein drink in the morning and after.that the rest of my protein is from food. I am a little over 5 months out and I wouldn't be able to hit protein just by eating alone at least not without a million carbs added on lol. -

what is your favorite snack post op
AngelEyesInNJ replied to newgrandmother's topic in Food and Nutrition
My cousin had given me the below recipe but I changed it up a bit to be a bit better for me. I added what I do in red, not saying that is how you should do it just giving ideas If you make it normal the first time you can trying experimenting like I did until you find the right balance for you. The longest part of this process is peeling the chic peas. I am not sure how good this is for us but I don't think it is all that bad I do not eat a lot of it although I have made it a few times I take 1 or 2 spoonfuls and am happy it hits that "dessert" spot for me. I am not sure of the nutritional value, never good at figuring it out. Peanut Butter chocolate Chip Dessert Hummus Ingredients: 2 cups chickpeas - 1/4 cup natural peanut butter - 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons maple syrup - 1/2 Tablespoon vanilla extract - 1/4 cup chocolate chips - Method: Drain, measure, wash, and peel your chickpeas. Peeling them isn’t absolutely necessary but it makes for the creamiest hummus and really is worth the effort. In a food processor, add the first 4 ingredients and process until the hummus is smooth and emulsified(the one thing no one wants for dessert is chunky chickpea pieces in their dessert). Remove the blade and fold in the chocolate chips. Move into a deep serving bowl and serve with graham crackers or baby carrots. Below is the link to the actual recipe http://www.thewannab...dessert-hummus/ -

AngelEyesInNJ replied to laurielee83's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Awe, I'm sorry to hear your doctor is like that. You are doing great!! I think at the 6 month mark you will have to work a bit harder to help the weight loss.. I am looking to get into the gym (something I should have don already) but I have 84lbs I still want to lose give or take some. Just take it one day at a time and you will get to goal girl!! -

AngelEyesInNJ replied to laurielee83's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have heard this too, they say the first 6 months is like the "honeymoon" phase where the weight will come off without you helping but after the 6 month mark you have to work with your sleeve to help the weight come off. -
