Questions About Post-Op Flight Home
AngelEyesInNJ posted a topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hi All, I just have a few questions, if anyone can shed some light I would greatly appreciate it. Did you request wheelchair help? Did you board before others? Did you feel sick or get sick at all on the plane? I am trying to be as prepared as I can be so I was curious about the above or anything else that may help. Thanks again to all of my VSG family for always offering their opinions and advice it is much appreicated. -
Questions About Post-Op Flight Home
AngelEyesInNJ replied to AngelEyesInNJ's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Thank you everyone, I decided to call the airline and set up for a wheel chair for the return flight just in case. I also found out there is a line when going through security for people with diablities which is good for me, I have a bad back (herniated disks) and bad knees (had arthroscopic surgery on both) so I can not stand too long without being in pain so I am glad I called in and found out this little bonus, a shorter line or being moved to the front of the line -

Just Another Confirmation Dr.garcia Is The Right Choice For Me :)
AngelEyesInNJ posted a topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hi All, I know there are many people on the board trying to find an ex-US surgeon (I was one of those people). I must say I did feel a bit weird not having my blood work or test run prior to going to Mexico (my date is Nov 7th) so I went to my PCP and she ordered a slew of blood test, I had gotten my results and scripts for medicine/vitamins to take. With that being said I am going through Ready4Achange so I emailed alma my results along with my script to ask if it is ok that I take the medications and when should I stop taking them (if at all) before the surgery. She forwarded my question along to Dr.Garcia and his medical staff within a short time I had received feedback from one of the doctors and less than 12 hours later from Dr.Garcia. This just makes me feel so much more comfortable with my decision, just knowing that pre-op I am able to get answers in a timely fashion and from the Dr. himself just speaks in volumes to me as to how I will be treated after surgery. Just thought I would share!!! OMG I can't wait to be sleeved.. I am anxiously counting down the days! -

AngelEyesInNJ posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Good morning! Oh my goodness, last night all I could think about was being sleeved, how much my life would be changing afterwards and just how awesome (although tough) the journey will be. I didn't realize I was obsessing until I woke up this morning and as I rose from the bed I was holding my tummy like I just had surgery.. haha anyone else think I am excited or just nuts? Now only if I could actually eat as if I were already sleeved I would be all set! Just wanted to share, since I am sure many of you may be able to relate. Have a great day!!! -

I think it may be the stress of the surgery on your body, it should straighten out soon though.

Help! Mexico Questions!
AngelEyesInNJ replied to aramey75's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I would ask a coordinator if you are working with one in regards to your belongings. As far as cash I have read in numerous places to just take small denominations of US dollars, no converting (Just make sure your aware of the conversion rate though just for your own knowledge) I was thinking of taking $100 with me and just in case taking a prepaid credit card with a little extra just as a backup. Best of luck to you!!! -
Dr Call Me ( Garcia)
AngelEyesInNJ replied to nurseghana's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I would ask about it now just incase there is something you may need to bring with you that they don't have such as non-latex items ( I don't see that happening but I always take precautions when I can). -
Ultrasound Shows Enlarged Liver

A liquid pre-op diet may do the trick, the reason for it is to shrink the liver. Good luck to you! -

Hi All, As weird as this may sound, was your luggage ever searched when crossing the border? I am not looking to do anything illegal per say but just curious since I found a list of things you can bring in and amounts so I was just curious how strict they really are, for example are they really going to search my luggage and take a camera becuase I am only allowed to bring one in. I just do not want to do cause any problems Thanks in advance! -Gina

AngelEyesInNJ replied to AngelEyesInNJ's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Thank you all for your responses. OTR - ha ha I alomst forgot about the TSA ..not looking forward to them.. I haven't flown since 2007 so I am not sure how horrible it really is besides what I have heard on the news in regards getting patted down or going through a machine where they can see all of you haha it will be an experience. I will also make sure to read airline rules to ensure I do not pack anything I am not allowed to have. Thanks for reminding me! -
