My insurance does not cover any WLS so i came to terms with that lol. I had gone ahead reached out to Dr.Garcia's office in Mexico I am set to go on Nov 7th. Today I received a call from the one surgeons office that quoted me $23,000 and they mentioned that at one of their other locations the cost would be $11500. That threw a wrench in my plan because for starters I am still scrapping up the money for Mexico, but this one is about $5800 more then me going to Mexico the only thing is I may be able to get on a payment plan here. What to do, what to do? I am not sure if I should stick to my original plan or if I should go and speak with the surgeon to find out about the financing for the $11500. I know this is my choice but just asking for some input as I am just confused. Thanks

I am another self pay but going to Mexico and only $4700. I am wondering, could you speak with your doctors office to see if you could set up some type of payment plan with them for the remaining balance since you technically would be paying majority of it with the loan already so they will have most of the money. I am hoping that after I am sleeved I can stop leaning. I have a bad back (actually having surgery on that in Decemeber) but I am hoping that also with the weight loss I can stand for more than 5-10 mins without having to lean.

Hello, it is obvious that he cares about you since he shows his concern in regards to your "eating habits". I would just be honest with him, I can't see someone getting upset about it. It is did not change who "you" are. You chose this to make your life better and yourself healthier so to me it would be no different then you telling him you were working out like 7 days a week 3 hours a day - ya know what I mean? I went based on things I have read such as the best time to purchase tickets are on Tuesday at 3pm Eastern time and around 42 days in advance, so I actually purchased my tickets on 9/25. Originally I was going to fly out on 11/6 but changed it to flying out on 11/3. I was tracking them for over a month and when I booked that was the cheapest I had seen them. Good Luck!

I knew I wanted to fly Jetblue so I just watched the price via yapta and bing but purchased directly through Jetblue.com I love that I chose my own seats . I am not a huge flyer but I have heard of other airlines where you cant chose your own seat or you can at a cost and some airlines charge for luggage.

If you think it may be a Vitamin deficancy you should probably ask your doctor if they checked for vitamin deficancy if not as if they can do a blood test for that. Side note - WAY TO GO!!! you are doing great

Have you tried powerade zero, propel and I think even gatorade all have calorie free drinks.

I am counting down the days and so excited for this surgery that my birthday (Oct 29th) totally slipped my mind a few times lol I am going to Mexico to have it done so I will be arriving there Nov 7th, how about yourself? Are you staying in the states (if you live here)?

Oh that is good, spending time in San Diego. I am actually flying to Los Angeles on the 3rd for 2 nights then driving down to San Diego on the 5th and going to meet Samuel at the airport on the 7th. I figured I would turn this into a surg-a-cation lol

Ha ha why yes she is! Are you arriving on the 9th or surgery on the 9th i kept getting my days confused now I think I have it down I arrive on the 7th and surgery on the 8th . I am sure we will bump into each other I have been looking for someone from the board that was going to be there the same time, everyone I had run across I was going to just be missing by a day or two.

Hi Bryan, If you have a coordinator you should ask about taking pain meds, I didn't even think of asking and I take percocet for bad knees and back, I am actually going to MX Nov 7th so I probably should ask too lol. After the first few days the headache should stop, I have been lucky thus far (Day 3 of liquid diet) to not have a headache but I had some migrane OTC pills just incase. If you are having a hard time and this is your first week where you are allowed some type of food, I would say have a little bit of a pickle if you want to but as you get closer just start getting more strict. The last thing you want is to get there and your liver be too big, I know sometimes that will cause them to open ya up opposed to laporscopically (well.. that is what I have read). I know it can be tough at first but just try not to think about it and it will fly by! I am on 3 weeks of liquid and I am just happy I have avoided the headache that comes from no food sometimes Best of luck to you!!

How strict is your diet? Have you tried protien shakes? Or even maybe like a powerade drink? or even Jello ( i know some allow this)

I am with you on this, I do not own any bras with out underwires and I also work from home so I hardly wear bras at all unless going out lol I love it when I can find others that can relate I am also packing a little pillow as I heard it helps to place inbetween the seatbelt and the tummy on the way home.

I am on day 2 of my liquid diet, my surgery date is Nov 8th as well but will be arriving in Mexico Nov 7th That is great that you are down a nice bit and off of medication!!! WTG!!!

Hi Everyone, My name is Gina from NJ and I will be heading into Mexico on Nov 7th. I too have a countdown on my phone and just so excited to start this new beginning. I chose the date because it is after my birthday (Oct 29th) and I can say that being 31 is going to rock as is every year there after! I also purchased a timeshare and I am just ready to be healthy, start vacationing and living my life. I did not vacation much before because being "fat" and a beach for me did not work nor going to amusement parks because I did not want the embarassement of not fitting on a ride. I am also looking forward to hopefully being able to conceive a child since I have not been able to thus far. I think I am prepared for my journey to begin, I have stocked up on Unjury protien,some Isopure protien drinks and also a blender thingy to puree my foods when I get to that stage. I should be set for a little bit after I get home from surgery. Lets count down them days my fellow November Sleevers!!!
