Updates By Nov. 2012 Sleevers
bynny replied to Yasmine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all! I was sleeved Monday 11/12, so just about a week ago. I went home from the hospital the next day. I didn't have much nausea or pain, but it took a day or two to get the anesthesia fog out. I didn't use the pain meds (not a fan) but I have taken two doses of Tylenol for soreness those first couple days. By Thursday, I was back to driving, going to the store, taking the kids to school, son's softball game. I went out Saturday night and felt great. I'm on a liquid diet for two weeks, then two weeks of puréed, then two weeks of soft food. My liquids include two Protein shakes (30 grams each, 11 ounces each) and lots of Water, tea, Jello, broth. I feel great, and haven't been tempted to stray from the recommended menu. I'm a little shocked at how smoothly things have gone. I see the doctor Tuesday for a follow up. I was down seven pounds this morning, so I feel like I'm on my way. Good luck everyone! -
Nov '12 Sleevers Pre-Op Ideas And Support
bynny replied to timetobefree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I tried a sample of the mint cookie with almond milk and ice, and I wasn't a fan. What do you mix it with? -
LOL, I'm Nov 12 and a Monica M. too!

Who Are The Failures At This Surgery?
bynny replied to MrsM's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Instead of focusing on who the failures are, let's look at who succeeds. My surgeon gave a list of traits that the most successful WLS folks had... things like eating three meals per day, staying high Protein, taking Vitamins daily, exercising daily, avoiding carbonated beverages, etc. If you do the right things, you will avoid the wrong things. -
November 12th here!

Let's Check In November 2012 Sleevers!
bynny replied to timetobefree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Add me to the list! My name is Monica, and I'm scheduled for 11/12 with Dr Dat Nguyen in Manteca, CA. I'm a single mom of three, fighting the cholesterol and BP that are creeping up due to obesity. Best wishes to you all for a speedy recovery and great loss! BTW, Amy (OP), do we know each other from another board? -
Hi all! Thanks so much for all the info. This is my first post, but I e already learned do much from browsing around here. My insurance only covers the band or RNY. I'm 100% sure I want the sleeve, but not sure I'm ready to do it in Mexico. I'm single with three kids, and I don't know if I can be that far away for that long if I don't have to. All the local surgeons seem to be charging in the $18K range, and their staffs aren't too helpful or good about returning my calls. I live right in the center of the state, a couple hours from SF, and about 90 minutes to Sac or Fresno. Any suggestions?
