I have to avoid Vit K so I have stuck with the chewables. For some reason the pills have K and they are HUGE. But I am currently taking Trader Joe's chewable multi. Only downside it has half the Vit A as my last one (countrywide ? I think from Whole Foods). But my Vit levels were great on the 6 month check. The Trader Joe version tastes 100% better than the country multi. Country version tasted like hard dry cardboard. And the TJ version at least has some higher numbers than the flinstone varieties and is economical. But on top of that I am taking 2k of Vit D, prescription iron, calcium dark chocolate (best invention ever), biotin 5k, silica, vit c 500 and B12.

2 Weeks Post Op & Really Struggling Today
NJgirl replied to jkfjdohio's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try something like thin mashed potatoes (regular or sweet), or creamy polenta. Everybody is different, but you are allowed yogurt and puddings (at least I was) in the liquid stage. I also found homemade chicken broth with farina made a nice soup/stew and varied it up. I could handle that stuff more than I could a scrambled egg. You can get creative, just start really small and make sure your stomach can handle it. DON'T GO FOR THE HAMBURGER. It sounds tempting, but you will regret it. Your stomach is extremely sensitive, and you need to go slow when you start introducing foods or you will get very sick (not a pleasant experience). The last thing you want to do is go under the knife to fix a leak because you gave into the craving. I am 6 months out, and its be best decision I ever made (and now I can eat hamburger, well a mini one!) -
Everyone is doing so well. I was sleeved July 23rd and down 70 pounds (halfway to target). I actually don't mind going to the gym now, who would have thought!

TheNewMimi I don't see why you can't have regular cold medicine. I have been taking my antihistimine with no problems. And one week post surgery I developed thrush in my mouth from my inhaler, so the surgeon's office prescribed a swish and swallow. I went to them for fear of putting new meds in my stomach. They said there was no problem. Its not the same, but I assume its similar to swallowing cough medicine. Just keep your swallows for meds smaller then you use too otherwise it could hit like a grenade in your stomach! Feel better!

I was sleeved on July 23rd. Almost 2 weeks out and I am down 20 pounds. It still seems a bit surreal to me. My surgeon didn't require any pre surgery dieting, so up until the Saturday before, I was eating normally (or not normally). Then from Sunday it was liquids only. I am still having trouble getting the Protein and fluids. I find when I drink Protein shakes, i get the gurgling and an odd gas like, kind of full, feeling. I try and take small swallows but it doesn't always help. I am just now able to have greek yogurt without causing too many stomach issues. My favorite which I can now eat is cream of wheat cooked in homemade chicken broth. If you add more chicken broth you get a thick Soup like mixture that is filling but also very flavorful. I can start soft foods on Monday and I am looking forward to a scrambled egg and tuna/chicken salad. I guess thats better than craving chocolate! I was able to stop the pain killers Monday. I didn't have a sleeve and the incision pain is minimal and short lived. I do have pain my left side and lower left abdomen where the surgeon cut the muscle. Its much better and tends to act up when I push myself too much or lift something heavy. Of course, I thought there was a problem since the pain was below the belly button to the the left and that didn't seem right given the distance from the stomach. So to any sleever that has similar pain, its normal. Best of luck to everyone!
