yeah, you have to take account for what you've eaten and drank since you weighed this morning, normal fluid balance, respiration, etc...

So you must not be using FMLA if you didn't go through HR. -
My Name Was Marked Off The Work
prettysleeved1 replied to Brandy78's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's what I'm wondering. How did it go from you putting in for it through HR or your supervisor to everyone knowing enough to ask you why you are going on leave? -
How about this: if your egg or sperm contributed to the making of the child, you need to help. You don't get credit for being male and having a job. That's what you're supposed to do. I won't even start comparing the physical labor of taking care of a child to a desk job. Since we're doing Bible chat, the Bible says to submit to each other and tells husbands to love their wives as they love themselves. This means that if you wife needs you to wipe junior's behind, you better get on it. You know why? Because when she's doing you laundry and comes across your skid-marked underwear and accidentally inhales, she's experiencing the same "repulsiveness" that you THINK you'd experience while changing your child's diaper. And I don't even subscribe. Some of these men....I swear. They better hope that their wife never passes away or gets fed-up enough with their BS and leaves because they would be up a creek without a paddle...not even a stick.

Jesse Jackson Jr. Had A Duodenal Switch
prettysleeved1 replied to Sansa's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yeah. My uncle's mother-in-law has had gastric bypass twice. The first time, she had her daughter sneak her in a hot dog and was able to eat it while still in the hospital without a problem. The second time, I guess they made her stomach even smaller. -

I Feel Like I Am Starving Myself...
prettysleeved1 replied to lilly11781's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It gets better. I never really felt like I was starving but I did experience the weakness. I'm 2 weeks out now and I would suggest getting up as much as you can and walking so that you gradually build up your endurance. This past Saturday, I was able to walk around the mall for a while, walk around the grocery store and even run some other small errands. One of the things that helped me (I believe) is that I passed up lower Protein content drinks for higher ones. It'll be over before you know it (as I sit here savoring an egg white). -
Hunger With Sleeve Vs Band
prettysleeved1 replied to timetobefree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I don't know about head hunger. I feel real hunger. I can't have anything but mush right now so that's not something that's tempting me so that head hunger is a reality in my life. -
That's probably par for the course. How did your insurance find out you went to Mexico?

JMO, I am surprised that cussing is against the rules. I'd probably post more if it weren't but I guess that says something about me -
Hunger With Sleeve Vs Band
prettysleeved1 replied to timetobefree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm only two weeks out but I do experience less hunger and when I have hunger pangs (from just going several hours without drinking something), it hurts. I assume it hurts because I'm so early out and it'll get better but it's rather painful. -

I have it too. Maybe it's a new "discipline" system. -
Sorry OP. Sometimes we make the wrong choice and don't realize it until our heart is deep into it. Whether you stay or not is your choice. In this situation I wouldn't advocate either way. The bright side is that soon your child will be out of diapers and you can elect to not have anymore children.

I watched a lecture that a bariatric surgeon conducted and he said that they are expecting the sleeve to eventually become the gold standard and replace bypass. -

Stall Or Starvation?
prettysleeved1 replied to justmeandmysleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Two weeks post-op and 70-100g of CARBS? From what I've learned, in the losing phase, carbs should be kept below 60g. You're taking in more carbs than Protein. -
1500 Calories
prettysleeved1 replied to SleeveNoob's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Before surgery, 1500 cal/day would get me 5lbs/wk in weight loss. Now, I can't imagine being able to get that much in. I can't even take my liquid pain reliever without feeling full. -
Am I Getting To Much Protien Pre Op
prettysleeved1 replied to newgrandmother's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine says AT LEAST 80. What's the dilemma? Are you scared you are taking in too many total calories? Are you keeping up on your water intake? -
Well, I know people who had RNY and gained all their weight back so yeah, I'd say it's possible with sleeve as well. But, the good news is that it's not magic. The person I know ate terribly once she reached her goal weight and forget about exercise. So, I'm certain it's avoidable.

If it's any consolation, you shouldn't be too hard on yourself. The band has limitations that people didn't know about the first few years it was out there. I read a few weeks ago where doctors are being urged to not even install the band into patients anymore because the long-term issues (weight re-gain, failure to loose, scarring, etc...) just are not worth it. The feds have sent subpoenas to Allergan about the lap band and expect them to testify about the low weight loss results and the complications. It was in the news back in May. If you are convinced that you'll regain, I think it's better for you to act proactively, especially with your co-morbid conditions. Why climb back up when you don't have to?

Take that back. I had to pay about $140 for the nutrition consult but it was only 1 so no big deal. -
Anyone With United Health Please Help!

UHC was smooth and seamless and I didn't have to do all of the long, drawn-out stuff that a lot of people have to do (ie. 6-month diet, etc..). However, I have the PPO so it may be different. They did cover everything 100% though. -
Well....things that are "high protein, low carb, low sugar, high fiber " and within your 800 calorie limit.
