    Check!

You know you won't need the Bio Oil in the hospital, right? All you need at the hospital is a robe for when you walk (unless you don't have a problem with wearing two backless hospital gowns), pads just in case you start your period (the ones in the hospital are dreadful), lip blam, slippers, and clothes to go home in. As for the Gas-X, they will likely have something in the hospital similar to it, IF you need it. I didn't.

Those Who Have Gotten In Shape And Have Ran 5Ks

Always been an exerciser, even at my heaviest. To answer your question, little-by-little. Deciding to go a little farther every week and then doing so. Your body adapts so that eventually, going further and faster will be the next logical step. "Breaks" should be taken wisely and I wouldn't advise going more than 48 hours without training. Since you ran cross country, I'm sure you know how to do it and it will be easier once the weight comes off but I'd start on it now if I were you.

    Update

Can you not retroactively take FMLA to protect your job temporarily?

Omg..... I Dkn Wat To Do.

Based on your other post, if I'm not mistaken, you haven't had your surgery yet so if you're pregnant, you're pregnant. POAS and call your OB if you are.

    Scrambled Eggs...

Yeah. They went down fine. Blending an egg sounds like absolute yuck.

    Breaking Out

Since you three are women, I'm guessing it might be the hormonal load of the shifting fat cells. Try Tea Tree Oil- based products.

    How Would You Respond?

Point blank: if you don't tell anybody, nobody will know. I'd approach it from a manners perspective, "that is an inappropriate question." I'd leave it at that. It is bad manners to ask someone an intrusive question.

Chat At Bottom Of My Screen

Mine does it when I'm logged into FB which I do not appreciate. So now, I have to log out of FB before I come here.
  9. No, as long as you're getting it through food. I did the same thing. I like real food and since 4 weeks out, I've been weaning myself off of them. I'm coming up on 7 weeks now and I only have a shake every other day or every two days and still manage to get in over 100g of protein.

    How Would You Respond?

    Whoop there it is!
  11. I'll get flamed if I really speak my mind. Needless to say, a 2 year old is not going to even have the option of disrespecting me. I'll say this: children need consistency. If the person watching your child is undoing what you're trying to do, you need to find someone else to watch your child.

Venting - Can't Wait To Loose To Show Off

Or, better yet, just stop caring what they are saying about you behind your back. There's a magic word-and-a-half I use regularly. It starts with an "F" and ends with "em." I think it's time for you to apply that word to them because it's truly a life changer. Anything you can't say to my face must not be worth the breath you used to say it behind my back. I should have been on Oprah.

    Couldnt Do Surgery-Liver Size

Depends. I read on another message board where the person's doctor took their liver size as an indication that they cheated on the pre-op diet and woke them up basically as a way to scold them for not adhering to the diet. She swore she didn't but the doctor felt like she did so he woke her back up. I'm thinking as the medical professional you would first try to find out how fatty their liver is to begin with so that you can determine a difference when you get them on the table or at least be able to estimate how much they'd need to lose to get the liver down to a size you can deal with but whatever...I can't get behind assumptive healthcare when you can see my insides with a scan before surgery and know what you need to know. Like the OP said, the doctor knew her weight so I feel he/she should have been more proactive about estimating how much she'd need to lose beforehand. In my personal opinion, surgeons should have a provision in the consent that they'll do an open procedure if the liver is too big to access the area laproscopically. That makes more sense than putting someone under, being disappointed by their liver size and waking them up when they can just do an open procedure. I don't believe that the liver issue is always a matter of safety when there is the open option. If your surgeon is skilled to do it either way, why postpone it when you already have the camera in their gut? I find it highly questionable and "unkind." I want to know what will happen if he/she goes back in and the liver is still not something they can manage? At that point, I'd find another surgeon. Unless, the OP cheated, in which case the doctor proved his/her point.

    Couldnt Do Surgery-Liver Size

Because not everyone who is overweight/obese has the same problems as others normally do. Apparently, your doctor just has a different set of standards. He may also been trying to prove a point.

    Couldnt Do Surgery-Liver Size

There are ways to check for a fatty liver. Low-carb diets also help shrink livers and from my understanding, the process starts fairly soon after undertaking (around 48 hours). I've never had fatty liver so I don't know all the particulars but during my pre-op, they checked my liver levels (through blood tests) and I also got a body scan. Maybe the OP's, doctor did not do that.

    I Can Eat Too Much!

You may just have a longer stomach. Seriously. People have anatomical differences that matter. Also, what exactly did you eat? I had more real restriction when I started eating more dense foods like poultry and beef.

    Couldnt Do Surgery-Liver Size

Did you have to do a pre-op diet?

Is Sleeve Success Possible Without Exercise?

That's too bad that they want to replace it. Are they saying that's the only way?

Is Sleeve Success Possible Without Exercise?

To answer your question, yes. There's a lady on YT that is at goal and in maintenance for almost 2 years that admits to not exercising. It's known physiologically that 75-80% of your weight is based on diet anyway. Hence the people on TLC who are 800lbs, can't move, and manage to lose 60 pounds in a month just from being on a 1200 calorie hospital diet. I had the ACL and Meniscus tear, and Femur break all in one event and I had surgery in 2003 and have resumed full activity. The surgeon described my knee as "debris" before the surgery. I was able to return to full activity after 8 weeks of rehab. Unless you have something else going on with your knee, I don't see why an ACL/Meniscus problem would disqualify you from activity. The other stuff, I have no experience with.

    Hormonal Cravings - Anyone?

My PMS craving is salt which is why I was licking a mixture of dried parmesan and lemon pepper seasoning a couple of times last night. I'm not sure what I'd do if my craving was sugar.

    Stomach Pain

Do whatever you need to do to find out what's up and get treatment.
  23. You may not be able to do strenuous exercise but you can move enough to work up some burn. There's a lady that used to come on PBS and they sell her program on DVD called "Sit and Be Fit."
  24. Depends. I have UHC and had my approval letter less than a week after the office submitted my paperwork. I didn't have to call the insurance company. Some people have insurance companies that take forever +1. In that case, I'd wait a week because calling a day after they send it off is pointless, quite frankly; especially if they sent it by a method that is slow (ie. US mail, courier/messenger service). After 7 business days, they should have at least received it and then you can go from there.

    Anybody

1st appointment, you probably won't get a surgery date. They weigh you, ask what surgery you want, give you the facts and stats., determine a goal weight, and answer any questions you may have. My surgeon examined my stomach and asked if I had any comorbidities/prescriptions. They will probably also let you know what the prerequisites are for your insurance company, if any. I didn't get a date until my insurance approved me. Some doctors do it before (which personally I feel is unwise hence all the let-down/disappointment stories of people getting a date and then their insurance not approving it). To be honest, my first appointment was the longest appointment I've ever had.
