Urging All To Tell Co-Workers

OP, did you not come to before you got to the hospital? -
I Swear To God I Could Choke My Husband Right Now!
prettysleeved1 replied to reneeclark1276's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This is old but I get it, OP. When it comes to food and drink, people want it the way they want it. I've found that if you want something done with specificity, you usually have to do it yourself. As for the stall, who knows? Protein is 4 calories per gram so the extra 48 calories probably isn't hurting you unless you have something else going on we don't know about or unless the 12g comes with additional grams of carbs and/or fat. Either way, I'd just start doing my own. -
I'm 10 days post. My surgeon never mentioned it. Maybe I was tested and negative so she never brought it up.
-
Don't know. Unless they tested for it in my pre-op bloodwork, I haven't heard of H. Pylori either in the context of WLS.

For Those Post Opers( 2 Days & More) That Can Drink.. What Are You Eating?
prettysleeved1 replied to Kiki Von Moonshine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not a lot. I got down about 20oz. of Powerade Zero yesterday and 16 ounces total of Syntrax Nectar. I basically drink every 10 or 15 minutes throughout the day. I also had about a teaspoon of chicken broth but since I can't get it to stay warm between tastes, I usually give up on it. -
I never really ran from the camera because I figure it is what it is. The weight is apparent, even if you don't want to see it in a photo. Everyone sees it when I'm out and about so trying to shield myself from seeing it, I feel, is futile. I may not like what I see but it's me. I walked past a mirror at a department store once and that ruined my day but I got over it. Then again, I have a performance background so I'm used to putting myself out there; good, bad, ugly, pretty.

Cigna Confusion

Not sure but I do know that many carriers do have a window after they approve you that you must get your surgery within or you'll have to start all over. -
I Want To Cry... :(
prettysleeved1 replied to gelen's_change's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon has an insurance lady who on the first consult asked me who my insurer was and they had a stack of requirement sheets for each insurance carrier. She pulled out the one for my insurance. Took 10 seconds. So, yeah, there should be someone in the office who has a pretty vast knowledge of what the major carriers require. Regardless of the type of doctor, that's a major part of how they get paid so someone in the office has to know. -

I did too but through records. I just asked the doctors I'd used over the last 5 years to send in the records. Did you actually wait 5 years? -
Didn't you say you just found out you are pregnant a couple of days ago? Maybe it's the hormones?

Need Motivation To Start Working Out

Perhaps the stall could be your motivation? -
1 of each. Meaning 1 nutrition consult and 1 psych eval.

Week 5- So Depressing / Disgusting To Eat
prettysleeved1 replied to Looking Ahead's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I'm only 9 days post-op but my hubby had RNY almost two years ago and he went through something similar. He calls it a "food divorce." He had his surgery three weeks before Christmas and when we went to the family dinner, he was miserable and withdrawn because all he could have was two bites of a plain baked potato. It does, however, get better. Now he eats whatever he wants and just stays conscious of his portions throughout the day. He actually enjoys and savors food instead of just scarfing it down. Hang in there! -
For me, I had to do 1 visit of each. I have UHC PPO.

Ib Profin Messed Up

Maybe that's it. They knew they are going to give you blood thinners when you get there and don't want you to pre-thin your blood yourself. -
Three Questions About Vsg...
prettysleeved1 replied to DeterminedGirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes. I know someone that happened to. She had insurance that required a 6 month supervised diet and ended up being denied because in the course of the diet, her BMI dropped to 31. I don't know. I didn't have any co-morbid conditions; just plainly and simply fat. I had no trouble getting approved based on on BMI alone. I get what you are saying. My insurance, although very lenient, considers this an elective procedure. I wonder how something that is used to treat a disease can be considered "elective" but that's the game you play when you deal with an insurance company. Even though you pay them for the insurance, their aim is to not have to pay. Go figure! Everytime I read on here that someone has to do 6 months of this, that and the other before even attempting to get approved, I thank my lucky stars that my hubby just happened be employed with a company whose insurance doesn't have that kind of run around. Overall, get your list of questions together and just make sure that you are satisfied with the doctor and his/her answers to your questions and how the office is run and you should be fine. -

My insurance doesn't require that; just a weight history. But that sucks. Does this mean you have to pay co-pays just to go in and get weighed? -
Just Cleared To Start Trying...
prettysleeved1 replied to Kristin's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
There is a user on YT who had sleeve and her and her husband conceived, I think, 2 years out. -
Yeah. I have UHC and they are QUICK! You probably won't even need to call them at all. They sent me my letter within a few days of the doctor's office submitting it and I scanned a copy to the scheduler and I was scheduled.
-
Honestly, that's not a problem I've ever had.
-
OP, on another forum, a lady was sleeved while pregnant because the hospital failed to do a pre-op pregnancy test and she found out two weeks after her sleeve surgery. She's fine but you definitely get into an OB/GYN's office pronto.

Try staying out of the house more. Since you can't move, get a job, go to college, or enroll in an activity that will require a bunch of time away from her. You could always just tell her that she's emotionally abusive. It may not go over well but I feel that if she takes the liberty to verbally point out your faults, then you take the liberty to point out hers. Sometimes, when people know how you feel about them, that's enough to shut them up. If now isn't a good time for the truth, I don't see when it will be. What if you don't end up married until you're 30. You want to put up with that for 11 more years? I think not.

Wow. Did you storm out the office with the receptionist shouting, "Miss (or sir)?!" LOL!
