  1. So I had my sleeve Monday July 23rd. The hospital stay was not bad. However if you have it a OLOL you have to remind them to feed you and sometime remind them to give you your meds. This is typical there. Otherwise my doctor was great and before the surgery the nurse was great. I have had a hard time with the amount of food my body will allow. I could never tell if I had had enough or to much. But I never got sick, so I assume I eating enough. The last two days I have also had a hard time drinking all the protein that is required. But all in all it hasnt a bad experience. I have read a lot of the threads on this app and they have been helpful. Broth, sugar free jello, and yogurt have been most of my meals. I tried grits which didn't bother me and mashed potatoes which went down easily. But I didn't eat either of these until the 6th and 7th day. I have lost 5lbs so far. I am very excited for the future and all the new activities I will be able to do.

    Gas Pain

Everything you guys are experiencing is normal. If you are gasy take gas x. I gurgle constantly this will be normal. I am a full two weeks out and have been back to work for a week. The gurgling last awhile. Now about pooping Becareful u don't over eat. You will get dumping syndrome. If your on pain meds Becareful as your first poop will be awful, and when I mean awful, like you never wanna poo again. I know this is gross but it's the truth. Other then that I have lost a total of 11 lbs, in 13 days. I have been drinking all my protein, eating yogurt, broth, soup, instant mashed potatoes, pudding, and jello. Grits were not good to me as the second bite made me sick. Of coarse I dont eat these thing all in a day. I have three meals a day and protein or snacks in the middle. I eat very slow and do not finish my meals. Also work your phases as instucted. Everything your instructions say is absoulty correct. I hope this helps.
  4. Your gonna go great. The first two days out of the hospital are kinda easy. Take it easy as your stomach heals. Remember that your chest gets tight when your full and try to get your Protein in. You can private message me if you need to talk. I know that during that first week I went through some emotional stress. I kept wondering if I was doing everything right. I have someone who is giving me amazing advice through my tough times. I think it just the calorie reduction that has made me kinda emotional.

    Baton Rouge Sleeve

Newbeginning who is doing your surgery? We have some great doctors here. Many of my friends have had the surgery. Congrats on having a date! My date came so fast I feel like it was here before I knew it!
  6. BTW Carey I feel great. I went back to work today. A little weak but that will go away.
  7. Carey, I too found out I was diabetic in February. This is while I was going through my 6 month dietary plan. But I thought something was wrong when I lost weigh because I was thirsty all the time. When I started reading all the paper work I realized I could have grits. Honestly I had them for the first time yesterday but you only really want like three bites or so. But if your dr only wants you to have clear liquids I would stick to that. Eating broth wasn't bad either. After the second day u are able to feel when you are full. But what no one told me was that when your chest feels tight, that's when your full. But as time goes on you'll be surprised how easy it is. So don't stress about it. You'll do fine. My first week went by really fast. Also no one told me about constipation which I have never had an issue with. So I'm just throwing that out there. LOL
  8. Good luck! I am a week out. I have to say its brought out some difficult emotions in me. Although I am very glad I did it. I wish someone would have told me that in the beginning (after surgery) is when u ask yourself, "did I do the right thing?" In my hearts of hearts I know I did. I feel great with a little soreness. I know this shall pass. I am very excited for my new life!! As I know you will be too.
