A1C Level To High For Surgery

Well wish me luck, found out I will have to have my A1c checked again at the pre op class on the first of Aug.. Had it down to 7.1 in June. My sister came out for a visit and I wasn't always eating right(my own fault). Did not know it had to be tested again so here's hoping all the chicken and veggies has helped me maintain that 7.1, otherwise maybe surgery gets rescheduled. I hate it that I can't seem to keep my control over food like I should at all times. That's way I'm here. We can do this -
Insurance stuff can be so nerve racking. Hang in there. Maybe because I have a ppo it's different. The person who you want to talk to is Monique with Dr. Mueller. She is so nice and will help you with anything. I knew she was gone this week. Stay positive and I know sometimes it's hard when it seems like at every corner there is something new to deal with.

I also have Sharp Rees-Steely in Rancho Bernando. I just went in to my doctor and told her about the sleeve, she had never heard of it. She was all for it. I hope all goes good for you and let's stay in touch. I can't wait to be on the losers bench with you and everyone else.

Thanks Vixkey I will do that. I have one stupid question for now. How do I send a message to you? Not very good at all this computer stuff even thou hubby is a software engineer, you would think I would know a little something about computers, LOL.

Wow that's great. I'm happy for u. So there is hope for me yet. I've been a diabetic for 7 years now and I hate it. I know diabetes does not always go into remission for all but I'm really hoping it works out for me.

My doctor requires your A1c be below 7.5 in order to have surgery. Mine was at 8 but I brought it down eating nothing but protein and veggies along with exercise. My surgery is Aug.14th. I wish you all the best and I know u can get your A1c down . -
Thank you Kathy. Your right I am very excited and a little scared. I'm doing this surgery in hopes of having my diabetes go into remission. I'm sure I will have so many questions and it's great that I have the experts here to help me when I need it.

Dr. Mueller is such a great doctor. At the seminar he will take the time to answer any and all questions you have no matter how long it takes.I have Anthem BC ppo and I submitted to my insurance last week, just waiting for approval. I have a date of Aug.14th for my surgery. I did not have to do a six month diet. I just had to show that I have tried to lose weight. Good luck.
