OMG. ICE CREAM!! Nooooooo! Haha. That is my total weakness. I (SERIOUSLY!) used to eat a 1/2 gallon carton 2-3 times a week! Dang. No wonder I'm huge! OK, and have you ever tried those low carb and low fat ice creams? I'm on the toilet before I get halfway through the carton. Of course, one shouldn't eat that much...I'm just saying... If you HAVE to have it, go for the real thing. Get what you want and get it out of the way. I'm not banded yet, but I've already had serious discussions with myself about the evilness of ice cream. I'm with Wheetsin about just buying one scoop, or the small personal things.

Yep, as of January 2007 Federal BCBS covers Lap Band. I have the page marked in my book, and the online page bookmarked. Obsessive? I have waited for this for several years...finally going through with it! Just waiting for the insurance approval...which I KNOW will come through! Good luck to all!

Haha. Sounds delicious.

Is it easy to pull the stitches out of port

just wondering, for those of you who had your port flipped, and then repaired... did insurance cover that? -
Did your Doc require a pre-op diet?
Suzzzie. replied to whosthatgirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
The nurse practitioner at my doc office said it varies by docter, but that they usually recommend 24 hours of full liquids, then 24 hours of clear liquids before surgery. So, only 2 days of torture for me! Yay! -
Uh, from what I gather I think it has something to do with sort of...throwing up. But I;m not sure...

To heck with the kids menu! As many of you mentioned, kids menu has crappy, poor nutrition foods. I want the SENIOR menu! Haha!! -
Haha. This is hilarious! I love learning new ways to scam the insurance companies! I can't wait until I get banded, get skinny, and get my own PS!

I totally undrestand. I've never let myself think about HOW overweight I am. I have 223 to lose to reach my goal...it's insane. I look back and wonder why I never stopped myself from eating...Of course, this is an addiction...and this is how I have come to be banded. (Praying my insurance pulls through for me soon!) Good luck to you! -

I'm new - Anyone from Kansas City area?
Suzzzie. replied to Suzzzie.'s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
HEY EVERYONE! I had my consult today to WTLSC...and things look good. My BMI is 53.6, current weight is 379. (Ugh...) The NP was so awesome, she answered all of my questions, and even let me feel her port. It was exciting! When she asked me if I had any final questions I said "When can I get this done?" She laughed and without missing a beat said "How about yesterday?" Obviously she knows the impatient type. Haha. I'm so excited to get my lap band. I swear I'd have done it today if it were possible. Now, lets just cross fingers and toes that my insurance comes back with an approval SOON! -

THat is totally awesome! -
Nope! I went last year for the frist time. A co-worker was talking about how she and her family (husband, dad, aunts, uncles...) ALL go in May. I asked her what dates she was going, and it was during the week I was taking off anyway, cause of my birthday...so I was in Las Vegas for my 29th bday. This year we are going at the end of May, so I'll already have my birthday by then...but fun will still be had! Last year we stayed at the RIviera, this year we are staying ath Sahara. The North end of the Strip is cheaper!!! If you want to stay on the South end (Luxor, Mandalay Bay, Bellagio, Ceasars, etc...) you will pay 3-4 times more than you will pay on the North end. Overall, I LOVE Vegas. Although I think you are crazy for going to the desert in August! Take sunscreen, and some GOOD walking shoes. No one cares about style...you're feet will kill you if you don't take comfy shoes!

Thanks. Couldn't help but to notice we have the same name... I don't meet many Suzannes!! -
Thanks for the info... I'm going to Vegas in about 3 weeks, so I'm saving money for that right now (priorities, haha!), so maybe when I get back I'll look into getting one. :kiss2:

Ted hose and spirometer
Suzzzie. replied to areellady's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, they are unattractive, but wayyyy better than getting a blood clot and dying... Oh vanity...Haha. Still, I hope I won't have to have them! -
Do you use the armband, or the beltclip? I would like to know how BIG the armband is, cause thats what I would use...but HELLO! I'm fat and would need a freaking belt to wrap it on my arm. Haha. I don't see on the site if it says how big the armband is? Maybe I should wait until after I'm banded and have lost some weight?

Ted hose and spirometer
Suzzzie. replied to areellady's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi. As a nurse, I can totally understand WHY they want the TEDS and the IS...but I can't say I would like it either. As long as you are moving adequately, I would think it would be OK to discontinue their use... BUT don't take MY word for it!! Call your doc and see what he/she says about it. -
Thats AWESOME! I was looking into the Body Bugg. My birthday is in one week and I was telling everyone to pitch in and buy me one! Haha. This looks like it would work just fine though! Thanks for passing this on!

Ohhh! I am SUCH a Beer drinker! I don't drink often, but I LOVE a cold Bud Light. that may seem silly, since I know there are 'better' beers out there, but thats what I like. I've been thinking the same thing lately, worrying about beer after band. ha. Its just one of the things I'll give up, much like binging on ice cream, or pizza, or whatever. Dang. No Bud Light, no Diet Coke...it's a good thing I like water!

I'm new - Anyone from Kansas City area?
Suzzzie. replied to Suzzzie.'s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Thats awesome to hear. I was/am nervous about going there, cause I haven't met anyone who went there...actually, the only Banded person I know got her surgery done about 3 years ago, and it was done in California I think...so I don't 'know' anyone who had it done here. I'd love to hear more about your experience there. If you want to, you can email me at szn0512@yahoo.com, or PM me and I'll give my # and we can chat. -
Yes...but does he have a younger BROTHER?!?! Haha! Hook me up!
