    Rewards....help please

Personally... the only reward I need is looking and feeling better. Eventually I will 'reward' myself with some new work uniforms. Lol. My scrubs are falling off of me.

Yeah. I'm just saying don't get it off of ebay, cause you will have to pay the $199 set up along with the price for the Bugg. If you get one with the subscription still in place, thats cool, you just have to renew it before it runs out. There are several options - monthly, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year. I just don't want anyone to be lured to ebay thinkig that $200 sounds like a 'good' deal, cause you'll still end up paying a total of $399 for it with the activation. Though do be forwarned that a used Bugg doesn't come iwth the coaching sessions... it is very easy to navigate, if you can get around LBT you can get around BB!! You can buy a coaching session or more than 1, but I think they are kinda expensive for what you really get - my sessions were only about 15-20 minutes long and they mostly showed me stuff I already figured out. So before you pony up for a coach, just ask your questions here!

Sounds like a nice workout. Unfortunatly, my apt is so small I can barely manage to do the walk-away-the-pounds DVDs. Lol. I have a Tae Bo Cardio DVD that I tried to do once... I knocked over a houseplant and kicked my recliner twice. Lol.

OMG.. you guys. haha Unbreak my heart! Toni is awesome! Sooo... does a marathon scream-at-your-worthless-irresponsible-idiot-roommate-because-he-broke-my-fucking-vacuum count as exercise?? I threw things and walked back and forth between my room and his room and the living room about a million times. At least a 3 minute scream... My vocal cords are sore... and the neighbors banged on the wall. Yeah... i hate my roommate. Thank God its his payday and I get his whole check. :wink2: Thats the only thing he is good for! Did I mention that I got one of those huge exercise balls? I've been doing 100 sit ups on it nightly, along with other random arm and leg exercises. I can feel it now, after a few days.
  8. Anyone here read the book [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Skinny-Bitch-Kim-Barnouin/dp/0762424931/ref=pd_sim_b_img_1]'Skinny Bitch'[/ame] or the follow-up [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Skinny-Bitch-Kitch-Kick-Ass-Recipes/dp/0762431067]'Skinny Bitch in the Kitch'[/ame]? These books have totally changed how I veiw food, and I am now vegetarian... working on Vegan status. And I'm buying organic foods when available. I'm also putting forth an effort to read ALL food labels... It's amazing to me how many of the 'veggie' foods (like Boca and MorningStar and GardenBurger) are NOT Vegan! Most of their products use milk, egg, and cheese! There are good totally meatless 'veggie burger' items out there... it's all about reading ingrediants and "trusting no one" as they say in the books. Anyone have anymore good Vegan books or cookbooks you'd like to recommend?

Screw you and your damn Texas weather!! It was like friggin TEN DEGREES here today - that was warn compared to the near negative windchill! My fingers and toes are purple... and I've been inside with my heat on all day!! Miley Cyrus rocks.. Just don't ever tell anyone I said that... I feel like a dork for liking her! Seriously, I do love that song. And thanks to everyone for the encouragment on the running thing. I'm really excited to give it a good try.

Netflix Watch Now has exercise videos

I always knew they had the vids you could get delivered... haven't tried the online stuff yet. Actually, I'd cancelled my subscrpition to Netflix a few months ago so I wouldn't sit at home watching movies at night and could go to the gym. Haha. I might try this though!

hha... thanks. So, I'm on chapter 5 of this book and thinking -"I'm scared!" The author keeps talking about chaffing and losing toenails and stuff. But it truely is quite funny. I've laughed out loud a few times. And the humor of sitting on my ass reading a book about exercise is quite... counterproductive?? But it's nice to see the pros and cons before I go out and attempt to find the worlds largest pair of spandex pants...

Lol. thats the problem - they had the pizza and brownies in the little report room - which is kinda in the hallway... har dto explain, but even the pateints were like "Do I smell pizza?" Grr. And I DID take food! I had my herbal raspberry greentea, an apple, and some vegan chili over brown rice. Yeah... all together it would have been under 300 cals for that. Hahaa!!

Any Junk Food Junkies care go join me?

Well, since I ate 4 brownies and 3 slices of pizza last night... and then went to WalMart after work and had to wrestle myself away from th Snickers... Yeah. I'll do this again!

I still use my bodybugg daily. Hell, I still sleep with the damn thing on! Mostly I just forget about it. I only upload it about every 2-3 days, sometimes I go longer. I HAVE been trying my best to log my foods since New Years... even the THREE slices of pizza I ate last night. (Ugh!) Everytime I think about retiring it I do something dumb, like sit around all day. SO I strap it back on and move. Running: I'm reading this book "The Non-Runners Guide to Marathons for Women"... very interesting. It has a 20 week training schedule for both the full marathon and also 1/2 marathon. I think when it gets a tad bit warmer here, say... March-ish? (It's 10 degrees here right now!) I want to start the 'training' for the 1/2 marathon... it's a run/walk training schedule, so I can ease into it. Hopefully the weight will start to melt off too! I'd totally love to be at 250 or lower by the end of summer (I'm 294 now). Bycyling: Still got my sights set on getting a bike in March. Probably won't be some fancy shmancy bike... I'm a poor girl, but I figure I can get a 'starter' bike and then trade up later on. COME ON WARM WEATHER!

    June 2007 Bandsters

Uh guys... I need an intervention!! I have to work the 4p-12a shift at the hospital all week... they are ALWAYS eating! (I worked that shift for 2 years when I first started at the hospital, nearly 5 years ago now and gained like 40 pounds in that time!) So I get there last night and they had flippin PIZZA! I haven't TRIED pizza since surgery... so I was scared. I wanted it for sure, it smelled good! No one at work knows about my lapband, so I figured I'd take ONE slice and just eat it slowly... which I did... and it went down fine. I then ate 2 more slices throughout the night. And I ate 4 brownies. Ugh!!!!!!! So today the scales have me up about 3 pounds. I'm so mad at myself. Why'd I even try the pizza? I had taken a perfectly nutritious meal to work with me for my 'dinner'...

    balance ball & high bmi

I just bought one last week from Target - ProSpirit brand. It was on sale for $9. I was sooo scared I'd pop it too... but NOPE! It even said on the box "300 pound capacity" well, I'm 294 now, so I figured I'd try it!! I tried one at the gym once, I was still about 380 pounds, and it didn't pop... but you never know! I TOTALLY understand that fear! Go for it! Its cheap and easy and fun! I now do about 100 sit-ups nightly, along with a few other exercises!

    'Skinny Bitch' Revolution!

Hey Bridget! Thanks for your 2cents! I'd love to have some of your recipes. My email is szn0512@yahoo.com I've looked at a few of those books you mentioned on Amazon, I'm planning on getting a few in the next few weeks... I"m waiting to win the lottery... or at least to have a few extra bucks after I pay bills... Man I HATE being an adult sometimes. I miss being able to put my wants and desires before my needs. Haha. Thats another rant though...

Glad you had a good time and made it back safely J! Don't worry about candy-assing your way out of the ride - You made the hills UP which had to be the hardest part, thats where I probably would have quit a long time ago! You'll make it the whole way next time!!
  25. There are several good books out there for beginner runners. The one I'm reading now is called "The NONrunners guide to marathons for women" by Dawn Davis. Its funny and so doable.
