    lool... u think im super woman.. lol my legs are super sore today!!!.. so only took a mnice long walk around the park ith my doggie.. but doing super good with food... eating protien protien and more protien.. no room for junk food

    really i would rather avoid any weight loss supplements for now... Just thte basics portion control, good food choices and excercise.. off to a good start today went to the gym and worked out with a trainer.. my mom is payin for 8 sessions.. so it will work out well.. now im headed off to go ride my bike around the nieghborhood and then talking my dog for a walk/jog with one of my best friends.. i might as well put all my free time into excercising.. ive had 4 glasses of Water today already, so half of what i need.. so overall.. im doing ok thankx gwen

    Hey Marchies!!1Its been a long time.. To tell u the truth iv been avoiding coming on here because ive been to emberressed with myself.. Ive gained 35lbs.. and am hirrified... ive been very depressed and unmotivated.. ibut i recently got a fill and signed up for the gym and a personal trainer and my loving and supportive bofriend said he is going to been getting on top of his health too.. he has started doing some running and promised to help me avoid eating the crap that i have been...i have a little motivation right now .. in 2 months im going camping with him and his family.. and i need to look good i a bathing suit in front of him.. and we are talking about movng in together and starting a life together .. which may mean wedding bells... there is no way i wanna be a plus size bride...so lots of things to motivate...i also got laidoff last month so things have been hard...hope everyone is doing well.. best of luckJeni

    i came on to check on my marchies.. and wow has it turned into ghost town on here!!!! im not doing good .. ive gained weight but i join a couch to 5k race at school so i have 16wks to get in shape .. wish me luck how is everyone els doing???

    So i went to see tis nutritionist on monday, and he is sending me to take a special class this thurseday.. and he said that it should help me a ton.. we shall see.:thumbup:

    hello all.... i've been doing horribly lately.. the only thing i ave been doing right is going to the gym 2 times a week and working out with my pt... but my eating is horrible!!! im in such a slump lately!!! im going to see a nutritionist (on who works with band patients) on monday to hopefully work out a new plan for me... -jENI im so mad at myself :smile2:

    Yay Welcome back to the band wagon!!! There have been time i did bleed with fills but not as much, although there was one time my surgeon had a hard time getting my port and the bandaid was soaked.. so if they mess with it a lot it can happen.. It was my first fill, and i was still heavier and it was hard to locate my port so it makes sense... No need to worry

    great barb, im happy to hear the chemo port is goodbye and the band port is being brought back into play.. that is wonderful.. Where is everyone else.. anyway another update im down 2.5lbs.. this is a good thing.. im so excited!!! Yippee!!

    *Update* Ok so i decided to give you ladies an update... Ive done really well with food the past 3 days... im only eating when hungrey, and protien first... i usually only manage to get 3oz of protien down. I'm not drinking with meals, and if i do snack in btw meals its either a fruit or veggie.. I went to work out with my trainor on wednesday, and today... 2 days in a row with a personal trainor is a killer... my legs hurt so bad that i cant even bend to sit down on the toilet.. lol but its worth it.. So ladies how are you doing.? -Jeni M.

    Anyone have their Gall Bladder out with a band?

    talk to your band surgeon and see what he says.. band surgeons are usually trained in taking out gallbladders. They even do both procedures in one surgery, so its worh the time to ask.. and i think with your history they may do it.

    no pre-op diet... i pigged out the week before and still got my band... my surgeon didnt require one.. you will be a ok... just follow u surgeons instructions and u will be a okay. he knows what he's doing.. but if your still worried talk to ur surgeon and he will go over it agin.. thats what he is there for

    Gall Bladder is coming out.... info please..

    i ha my band out 16mths after i had my lapband put in.. i had the band completely unfilled for saftey reasons and i glad i did i started all over, and it wasnt so bad... recovery was easy no major problems.. its an easy surgery.. u will be fine.. if you have any other questions email me at pumbagurl@yahoo.com -jeni m
  19. personally i think you should get your band completely unfilled for a little while to give your poor stomach and esophagus a rest... at least a month.. and then slowly start getting some fills agAIN.. i THINK at this point eerything is very irritated and just needs a little break to get back to normal.. and as far as keepin your weight under control still follow the band diet... and watch portions... eat the protien first and after 3 ounces and after tat fill up on fruits and veggies if your still hungrey.. good luck and keep us updated... i know its hard to get an unfill but if you dont take care of yuorself you risk losing that band. with as much reflux that your having and heartburn and vomitting it puts you at greater risk of erosion and slippage..

    It's June already

    Hello Ladies, I must admit i haven't been on here in forever because i have been very disappointed in myself and ashamed by how much weight i have gained ... I have gained 20lbs from my lowest weight and was in a state of denial. And coming on here meant admitting to myself the reality. Im embarresed by my gain, but i have come to realize in my head, why should i be scared of admitting my downfall to my fellow bandsters who are going throught the same thing. I promise to log on at least once a week to post on here. So i saw my band surgeon on sunday and got a little motivation from him and a review of getting back on the band wagon. I actually got an unfill, because i realized i was too tight and was relying too much on liquid calories and easy foods, because i couldnt get the healthy foods down, this is part of the reason i gained. I also lagged in the excercise department. So today i started my food journaling again and i have a couple gym appts scheduled with my personal trainor. Im meeting with her 2 times this week and i have a couple days where im going with some friends to hold me accountable. Im going back to the strict protien first diet. Im going to eat 3oz of protien with each meal and if im still hungry i will fill up on fruits and veegies. no more bad carbs. and unhealthy sugars. So i hope the three of us will log on once a week and keep each other motivated. I know i really need the support from fellow bandsters because i really dont get support from my family. Looking back at my successes, i realized that i was most successful when i was logging in at least once a week or more. Sorry for rambling on and on but i had to get my thoughts in writting, maybe this will keep my honest with myself. Mrs. Husker, Im so happy you are cancer free. and you feel well enough to join the band wagon again. i may have had my band to rely on this whole time but i have not used the tool THE WAY I WAS SUPPOSED TO. so its almost like im starting over again, we will all do it together and start from the begining.     April and It Ain't Over

    MRS. HUSKER CONGRAtS ON BEING NED!!!! This is wonderful news, and im so happy for you. Im glad that you are not letting the weight gain get to. You had to deal with kicking cancers butt!!! :eek: So i have been struggling majorly with my weight!!! :wink: I dont know what happened, i was doing so wonderfully and then i got lazy and things spun out of control... I havent been on here so long because i was embarrassed with myself... Also ive been kind of in denial with it as well... I realized part of the reason i was doing well was when i was weighing in every morning and coming on here and posting every day.. the support helps so much.... I have to create a schedule where i can fit in time to go to the gym and stick to it... its so hard working full time an going to school full time finding time to do homework and go to the gym plus sleep... So rather than miss out on too much sleep ive been skipping the gym, leading to poor food choices. Also ive been missing out on sleep and leading to more poor food choices.. So its a vicious cycle that must be broken!!!! so my goal for this week is to lose 1-2lbs this week. and to check in here at least every 3rd day... Anyone else with me?? -Jeni M.

Im writting a research paper about weight loss surgeries and how they are not the easy way out, or the easy fix... here is where you come in: - i would like to have your own personal expirience on how you ahve altered you life to accomadate your band/new plumbing for any bypass/sleeve patients on here. -what suprised u most post op -how you feel when people think that you took the so called easy way out? i l=would love to get as much input as possible, this will make my paper more effective in proving my point. I'm already using my personal expirience, but i want to include variety. thank you jeni m. (bandster since 2007):thumbdown:

    Marchies 3-year bandiversary month!

    hey all... So im at a complete standstill with my weight, but at least its not going up.. i started keeping a food diary to keep myself honest, and i think its helping. im not eating in crazy amounts, that and the fact that i got a small fill of .4cc's. I know once i begin the exercise the weight will start coming down again. i haven't quite been cleared to all exercise yet, but my physical therapist had gave me the okay to start with some light cardio, like treadmill/bike, and maybe elliptical if it doesn't bother my neck. So my plan is to start a exercise regimen again on sunday... im not going to have time tomorrow and Saturday is My 25th Birthday, and I'm having a little get together... And i know i have the motivation, I'm going up to Canada to visit family i haven't seen in forever so i wanna look my best and be at least at my surgeons goal of 165, which is completely doable by begining of august ... 5lbs a mth
