    Scared And Confused

I think she means not on solids. Hey NGM, I'm terrified I'll stuff it all up some how. But when you're still on liquids I dont think you can do much wrong. The Fluid just slips into your belly and out again, that's why it's not filling you up, it's the same reason you were hungry pre-op diet! Just remember its still a journey! The weight won't come off in four days and you won't stretch you pouch in four days! Think looooooong haul!!!! Hang in there!!!

    Attention ! Australian Sleevers

Hi, thanks for the reply! It did feel almost as bad as gallstones! But I've had mine removed lol I ended up drinking almost half a bottle of mylanta I got from the 24hr servo and by 4.30 it had settled enough to finally get some sleep! I hadn't eaten anything irregular yesterday but mum says I had it once when I first moved out of home and ate too much Vietnamese afte I had been drinking (not a common occurence for me!) and called her thinking I was having a heart attack! Lol, anyway, my body is still a bit achey but I feel a lot better but i still think I'll go to GP tomorrow and put it on the record... It was quite scary and painful! I'm so excited to see your pics shellz!!! And congrats on your promotion!!!!!

Hey guys! I had a great day today, but have had pain in chest like refluxy? I've never had reflex before but it's sort of like chest into back... And I sort of feel like that sharp biley taste way back in my throat... If its still there in morning I'll see a doctor but just wondering if that seems like heartburn/reflux etc...

    Birthday Meal Ideas?

You can make some kind of mini pavlovas with berries and light cream and passion fruit sauce/ sf Jello... They always look so celebrationy with the fresh fruit and towers of whip... (sorry I'm an Aussie so biased to pavs as a bday treat) And yeah I agree with the roast idea, or BBQ, with some nice cuts of meat and lots of variety of salad- or tapas thingy... I think you will feel less deprived if its more of a French/Italian/spanish buffet- where you can eat slowly and enjoy the conversation! If you make it a BBQ picnic you could get some fun games/exercise in too http://mdw.heartandstroke.ca/news/post/strawberry-pavlova-with-lemon-yogurt-sauce
  6. Heya! Most people on here know I'm pretty chatty about my plans for the sleeve, but I do know it will be hard and some people will be worried for you and others will say its "the easy way out"... I do think it's easier if you're ready to engage in a conversation rather than just stop at the first negative especially with your most loved ones it will be an ongoing process to reassure them that you have really considered all the options. But then remember its your body, your choice, and if some people are stubborn then I suppose it's best not to bring it up. Overall though, there will be a lot of times where questions will come up (especially when you're in the liquid phases) and its best if youve been honest beforehand I think, rather than it coming as a shock or having to make up stories... Good luck

    2 Days Post Op/newly Sleeved

NGM!!!! I've missed you!!! I don't remember how serious it was anymore, I'd have to check with my folks, but when I was a kid I had a panic attack coming out from anaesthesia - and I remember being told to breathe- apparently I was sort of holding my breath or something... But when I had twilight sedation for my teeth and total anaesthesia for gallbladder I had no problems... (and I've only gotten fatter over time lol) so go figure! Anyway I was thinking of you NGM! I wasn't sure how long you were on pre-op diet for so i though you were still plugging along with that! Oh I'm so so so so glad your still with us, and I hope your recovery gets easier!!!

    Seriously Worried... Help!

I'm losing fairly slowly (pre-op) but am already noticing some loose skin that is not tightening up. It's the area above my stomach and under my breasts (I've heard it called the "liver-roll" because it's where your liver fat is stored?!).. Because I've yo-yoed so much I'm not sure if that has helped my elasticity or not but this is the first time I've noticed little wrinkles in the skin where the fat has gone... But, im still sooooo happy! I've had that little roll forever and to know it's leaving me finally, well I don't really mind a few "battle scars" I'm only 25 and I'm taking all the vitamins, skin lotions and oils, weights and crunches, ad infinatum... But I really recommend just loving your changes every day, skin wrinkles and all, because if you hit a scale-stall these changes are what will keep you goin

    Disgusted By Others Eating

Bah! You're all nuts... lucky im a squirrel so I LOVE nuts!!! Hows about we all agree to disagree over whether a dozen = 12 or 13... It's both depending on who you are
  12. @ liztex! I think fear of being alone is a valid one! I had bullies (including my older sister) who always told me no man would want me because if my weight! That's been proven untrue on multiple occasions but I was more worried no man would want me coz I'm a nutcase! Lol At twenty five myself I am worried I will never be able to have children with my partner! I'm hoping this surgery will help with that! But for me it's not really going to begin until mid next year- so im being patient Be patient too, we have made the decision not to die young- so now in every sense of it we have our whole lives ahead!!! Good luck!!!

Hey susie! You'll be ok! Why don't you go through some of the other forums on here, I find they are a good distraction and motivator! You will be able to eat again, you know this, but not now. Now is your time to deal with cravings while your body is on your side! You will be fine! I know this! Remember, you are a strong and powerful woman! You are a grown up taking control of your life!!! food is only a part of this life, and maybe your folks attitude toward constant eating is a part of the problem! Think about how you can get some exercise or other fun instead of just food! I'm with you!!!!

    Disgusted By Others Eating

Hi all!!! Myfitnesspal is blevarre I eat too much and too much bad food but I will NOT hide it! You can all look at my chocolate icecream and cheese and too much deli meat and ENTIRE footlong subs and feel however you like I've quit smoking before and looked at other smokers with honest contempt like "ah you addicted idiots sucking that tar into your lungs" But look who's smokin again!!! <------- I am!!!! It's ok to feel disgust, we really are doing disgusting things to our bodies, but please, always remember to have compassion and remember you all have your own straw and some of our straws come later than others and some won't get the chance to fix it before they break their backs... Peace and love

Sorry for triple post: but my sister got one of these (you can get similar in microwaveable form) and poach an egg while also warm some ham/spinach/beans/mushrooms/whatever in the other cups for a quick easy breaky... http://www.lasoo.com.au/offer/egg-cookers-0/smart-value-egg-poacher/4rxhfi2kl.html?source=category&pageopt=egg-cookers-0

My go-to snack lately has been natural frozen berries with 0% Greek yoghurt (chobani brand)... I make it up when I make breakfast and the berries have defrosted by the time I need my snack

    Sleeve To Bypass

The ds isn't performed as a primary operation in Australia anymore, that's the original reason I started looking at "just" the sleeve. I know now that the ds would probably just have allowed me to keep holding on to bad habits but still get that weightloss honeymoon of all wls's... I sometimes wish I could do it without the surgery at all, but obviously that hasn't really worked out so cool- but I think going in for another surgery such as the ds or bypass after my sleeve would be a big sign that I had not got my mind right... And as mentioned above: where would I go after that? Before considering another surgery I would highly recommend visiting a nut again and maybe even a therapist to help with confidence and motivation! If you can do it I know I can have hope for myself!!! Good luck and safe travels!!!

    48% Body Fat & Osteopenia

Hey cherrybombknits! I'm so sorry for your troubles! I for one am also pretty upset at the damage I've done to my body in only 25 years of life ! I'm not looking forward to hearing my bone density after anorexia and years of yoyoing between starvation and bingeing! I already have permanent scar tissue on my spine and a hump near my neck (I'm hoping shrinks with weight loss)! All you can do is focus on the future! As long as your not going the malabsorptive route I think you should be able to get your osteo probs cleared up soon! Good luck! I look forward to reading your progress!!!!!!

    I Need Your Input Please!

I know op wasn't trying to "pad" issues- I for one was certainly in denial about everything that was wrong coz of my weight!!!!! I actually have very low bp all the time and no pre-diabetes or chol troubles but my doc said sometimes these symptoms don't happen and your heart just gives out "like that". It took excruciating sciatic pain to kick start me and only now do I admit all the other problems that have been stacking up! I think this is as good as a bucket list: not only doin want to do more, I want less of this bad stuff!!! Good luck all!!!
