11.5 Months And 138 Lbs Down.. What A Ride.
tallysfunny replied to Just-A-Gem's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You are a success. And you give me hope. I soooo looks forward to wearing heels with ease. Andi don't care that I'm already 6 feet tall. I will wear them proudly. Lol. Great job and please keep us updated. You really are a great inspiration!! -
It's not my PCP I have to meet. It's their bariatric PCP tha I am required to see. All my labs have been ordered including my chest X-ray (which was clear). The surgeon ordered those. It's just this complex rigamorole that they send you through. And don't get me started on all of the out of pocket expenses I have. Weight management program = $409 Nutrition classes, etc = $350 Surgery kit = $310 Plus all of my consult copays on top of other miscellaneous fees. And I have to pay admission copy 2 weeks before surgery. Thank god I have a big flex spending account. Or else none of this would be happening.

The Stuff They Don't Tell You

I'm not post-op yet but I do know that www.vitacost.com is usually really great with their prices. I plan on using them for liquid vitamins, etc. -

Tomorrow Is The Big Day!
tallysfunny replied to shanbutler's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck. Check out the posts here about what to pack. I guess people tend to over pack and it's a wasted effort. Just bring wha you truly need, try and get a good nights sleep and it will be done before you know it. Congrats! -
Pre Op Anxiety... Help!
tallysfunny replied to Riaa90's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lol just read through the other posts. Another diet to look at, though it is a lifestyle really is the paleo diet. Very similar to Atkins but is actually what I would call a clean Atkins. Not too high in fat but the right amount of healthy and natural fat that our body needs. Plus healthy protein and veggies. If you want to get in some exercise that is fun...try Jillian michaels power yoga. It will kick your butt but it feels great! -
Pre Op Anxiety... Help!
tallysfunny replied to Riaa90's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Put your foot down and say to yourself that carbs are not an option. Junk food is out, soda is gonzo, and anything else is caput. If your success is worth it to you...make the choice to do rot by you and your future sleeve. Period. At does your doctor want in a preop diet? I assume low carbs, low fat and high Protein? -
Support Vs. Going It Alone
tallysfunny replied to justkeepsmiling's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sometimes sweetheart we have to do what is right for us even when so many push back on it. While I do not agree that they are not supporting you, you are also going to have to live with the fallout of not telling them. Which will create more stress on you....not telling them and them getting royally pissed about it or telling them now and getting it over and done with? I must ask, how exactly did your father put a stop to it last time? It's your life, so you must do with it as you will, but just make sure that you are at peace with whatever decision you make. It will mean one les thing for you to stress over after surgery. Cuz the good Lord knows you are gonna be going through enough changes and chaos after surgery. Hugs, take care and feel free to contact me if you need support. -
Surgey Scheduled For Sept. 13
tallysfunny replied to ibSdaddy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
From what I understand (not sleeved yet), you need to get walking ASAP and you need to get your protein in as soon as your cleared. All doctors are different in their programs and expectations. Let us all know how you are doing!! -

Who Knows About Your Wls

Right on girl!! -
That pic right there gives me hope. I want that space too. But I also want that big muscle on the thigh that pops out. I think a certain amount of muscles on a woman are sexy as all get out!

Planks, pushups, terry pulls, chair squats with heavy weights held out in fr t of your for balance. Google it for ideas. But I agree with the person that suggested yoga. Talk about an all over work out but total emphasis on core. Cannot wait to get back to my yoga.

I went the body media fit route instead. Got mine on eBay for $50 and the annual subscription for $28. So mine was cheaper upfront.

Denied...but Yet Approved
tallysfunny replied to MBMom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You need to do what you have to in order to get your health where it needs to be. Period. I got lucky. When I first started down this road, my insurance will pay for gastric bypass only. However my coordinator told me that my insurance just started approvi f the sleeve. So the sleeve I will go. Maybe things will change by the time your surgery gets closer. All in all, I do NOT envy you for your position. -
Who Knows About Your Wls
tallysfunny replied to JDY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't care who knows. And I don't care what anyone's opinion is either. The way I look at it...opinions are like a**holes, everyone's got one and they all stink. If you can't support me, then I don't need to hear it. Besides, other peoples opinions about me, my choices, etc are NONE of my business. -
