    VSG POST C SECTION

I've not had a c section, but when I had the VSG done, the surgeon made five little incisions about 1/2" except the one where they pulled the stomach out, it was almost 1". So there were no "extra" skin. My body looked the same as before surgery with the exception of the 5 incisions. Now depending on your age, race, and health, how quickly you lose weight, and amount of weight to lose, you may have extra skin after losing the weight.

    Overate and threw up

the waiting between bites is hard, but even harder is focusing on the food in my mouth. Sometimes i'm not thinking and before I know it, I've swallowed before thoroughly chewing my food and I immediately get discomfort where I have to wait a while or I take a papaya enzyme to help with the digestion.

    To Tell Or Not Tell

Just tell people you are on a high protein diet. As for eating a little amount of food, tell them that eating a cup to a cup and a half food is all your body needs at a time. My brother told me this since he's been paying to have a nutritionist go to his house to counsel the whole family. The nutritionist had him slowly get to the point where he was eating only a cup of food at a time. He's been able to lose a lot of weight. When I first mentioned that I might do the surgery, he suggested I get a nutritionist to come to the house like he did. I told him I couldn't afford one like that, but can afford WLS since my insurance covers it. It remains to be seen how long or how much discipline he has to maintaining a cup of food at a time. I'm just happy that I have such a great tool (my new tiny tummy) to help me control my portions...and boy does it let me know when I've over done it!
  10. I'm sorry to hear you have nerve pain. I hope it goes away soon.

Am i going to lose more?

Try mixing it up some...do a little more or less exercise, eat more calories for a day and see if it doesn't trick the body out of the stall. I'm 6 weeks out and have just gotten out of my second stall which lasted about a week, I think. I'm trying not to rely on the scale for weight loss since I know I could be losing inches instead of pounds. Anyways, I've been trying to change this up for 3 days before I saw the scale move again. It's an art trying to figure out exactly what your body needs to keep it from stalling...an art that I am far from perfecting.
  12. Wow! What a huge difference. Great job!

    vomiting @ 6 weeks

I was sleeved on 2/21 also. I find that if I take too big of a bite or too quickly, then I feel discomfort, sometimes to the point of vomiting. I started taking Papaya Enzyme tablets when I get the discomfort feeling. It helps digest the food and works pretty quickly. You can buy it with the vitamins at the store.

    Bad bad foot blister help!

When I get a blister (last one was 2 days ago), I check and see if there is any fluid build up. If there is, I take a needle, clean it with alcohol then pop the blister and drain it. then I put Dr Scholl's Moleskin on it. It gives a layer of protection and I'm walking again the next day. I find it hurts like crazy if I leave the fluid in the blister. Hope yours heal quickly so you can get back to your exercise.

    DC/MD/VA sleevers

I have kaiser Insurance so I go to their support groups. It's at the Fair Oaks Kaiser building, held on the last Tuesday of each month at 7:00 - 8:30 pm. Maybe you can call around to bariatric surgeons in the area and ask if they have an open support group where you can attend. I'm not sure if Kaiser will allow non-Kaiser patients join the group. Good luck with finding a support group!

    Remember Me?!?!?!

Down 60 lbs is great! You're doing a fantastic job and looking good in the pics.
  19. Just remember everyone heals at different rates. The swelling in your stomach could take longer to go down. If you're able to get in all your proteins via liquid, then maybe you just need to supplement your food with liquid proteins until you can eat more. Remember to take tiny bites, not normal ones. I use a baby spoon and started out only eating 1/4 of a baby spoonful in the beginning and gave it plenty of time before taking the next bite. I hope your eating becomes easier for you real soon.

    $27,385.95

That's how much the surgery cost was. So glad my insurance covered it all after my $5 copay
  21. <slap> <slap> Did that help? You can get back on the wagon! You've had your "fun" with the junk, it's time to go back to healthy eating. I know it's hard, but you can do it! Look at how much you've already lost. A support group is a good idea. Remember you control the food, the food doesn't control you.
