    Really Cigna?

Congrats! I hope to get a date tomorrow when I see the surgeon.
  2. Maybe it's your version of the "stall" where your body adjusts to the lower calorie intake and the drastic weight loss and to me 61 pounds in 4 months is drastic. Just hang in there.

    Any February Sleevers 2013

I hope to be a Feb sleever. I see my surgeon on Tuesday to get a surgery date

    Leg pain

The leg pain could be from doing too much on the treadmill if you are just starting out using it. I know when I push myself too hard on the treadmill my shins ache. Try going slower or sometimes I speed up then slow down during my walk. Hope it's nothing serious. Way to go with the weight loss!

    Lemon water or crystal light?

I love to drink crystal light, but I only drink it half strength because it tastes too sweet to me.....try using less crystal light. For instance I put a 2 quart packet into a gallon of water...sometimes I think that even tastes too sweet so I dilute it some more. As for lemon in my water. I LOVE lemon and I use to drink lemon water all day everyday for six months. I went to the dentist and got my first cavities ever! I went from NO cavities to 6 cavities. So no more lemon water for me...lol

    Protein Fears!

Unjury makes an unflavored protein powder and they have a chicken broth also. I bought them in preparation for my surgery. I had to show the nutritionist what I would be taking after surgery. I go on Tuesday for my appointment with the surgeon. I should get a surgery date then! It's starting to feel real

    Newbie in Maryland

I've been working towards surgery since August! It's a six month journey to get final approval and a referral to see the surgeon. I've finally arrived at the stage to meet with the surgeon, which is scheduled for Tuesday. Hopefully I will get WLS date then. In some respects it's been a long process, but in other's it seems like the 6 months went by quickly....of course it could be because of my age...the older I get the quicker time seems to fly by

    Feeling really good!

Wow, that's great! I can't wait til I have surgery. On Tuesday, I go to see the surgeon and I should be getting a date then also.
  10. I received results from a blood test and it shows that the "rheumatoid" test says it should be < 14. My result was 18. That along with swollen wrist, I'm pretty sure I have it. I see the rheumatologist tomorrow. My question is, has anyone here with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) have the sleeve done. Are there any specific consideration for the sleeve when a person has RA?
  11. I had my last nutritionist appointment Jan 3rd. Then, with Kaiser, the nutritionist submits my information to the committee for final approval/referral to the WLS surgeon. Yesterday, I checked with Kaiser and saw I had an appointment "pending" with the surgeon and when I checked today, it said authorized! Yayyy, I've put a reminder on my phone to call tomorrow morning to make my appointment with the surgeon! I see the light at the end of the tunnel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I'm going towards it....can't wait til I come out of the tunnel and onto the loser's bench!

    Wide or Womens ?

I was talking to a friend about clothes sizes since I've managed to go down 1.5 sizes in the last 6 months (still waiting for final approval for WLS from Kaiser). I thought the "W" in sizing stood for "wide". My friend thinks it stands for "womens". Whose right?

    Finally Approved

    Yaaaayyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Wide or Womens ?

thanks ladies! It never hit me that it could mean "women". I just thought it was "wide" like in shoes....lol Well hopefully I'll here from Kaiser soon about my WLS then hopefully I won't be "wide" anymore
  16. hey, that's great! I think the main thing is your moving. I haven't had surgery yet, but my pedometer has become my faithful sidekick. I aim for 10,000 steps or more per day......then when I saw the NUT she said 12,000.
  17. Hi, I am going through the process to be sleeved through Kaiser here in Northern Virginia. I was wondering if there is anyone out there that can tell me about the doctors that Kaiser uses. And here are some questions I have: Do they turn you away if you don't lose the required amount of weight and make you wait til you do? Do they require a liquid diet prior to surgery? How long does it take to get a surgery date after finishing the last visit? How flexible are they with "speeding" up the process? Currently, I would finish my last session with the NUT in Jan. I already have 2 weeks vacation scheduled for Dec which would give me plenty of time to recover before going back to work. Thanks!
  18. Sorry, I haven't be sleeved yet, but do suffer from depression. I would suggest you go and talk to a doctor to see about adjusting your meds and to talk to a therapist. Hope you feel better real soon.
  19. Great Info. I noticed Kaiser wasn't on the list. Kaiser requires a 6 month program with the Nutritionist/Weight Loss Surgery classes.

    Medical Tag/Bracelet Curiosity

Thanks AngelEyesInNJ. I actually saw that post. I was still wondering if many actually wear these medical bracelets/tags or is it kept in a drawer somewhere hoping to be worn I've also read that people have worn them and they were overlooked by the medics. Is it because they tend to look like jewelry as oppose to the "classic" medical id bracelets?
  21. I haven't been sleeved yet, but I am wondering how many of you have actually gotten the id bracelet or tag and what did you put on it? Thanks

    Medical Tag/Bracelet Curiosity

Thanks. I wondered what should be written on them

    Finally!

I have finally finished with my 6 months with the nutritionist. She will send my info to the committee for approval which she told me could take up to a month because of the holiday season. Once approved, I will have a referral to contact the surgeon. I hope the approval comes soon!
