Anyone passing out?!?
ISleevedIt replied to Stroza's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
maybe your blood pressure is too low and you should have it checked. Are you getting in enough calories and liquids each day? I try to eat something every 3-4 hours and if I'm not eating, I'm definitely drinking. -
I just can't get them down!

When I was 2 weeks out, I started taking gummy vitamins. I made sure I chewed them up very well and have had no problems with them. For calcium, I take the calcium chews and again I just chew them up really well. Good luck with taking your vitamins and calcium. -
That is fantastic! WTG!

ISleevedIt replied to RJ'S/beginning's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm sorry to hear you had to go through all that RJ, but I'm very happy that you are here with us! Yes, a lousy way to lose 100 lbs, but it is a 100 lbs gone! I hope everything goes smoothly for you here on out! -
3 weeks til surgery!
ISleevedIt replied to victoria77's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Your surgery date will be upon you before you know it. I think feeling "crappy" is partially a state of mind. Just remember that each day gets better and better. I remember focusing on getting in all my proteins and liquids in the beginning that feeling "crappy" just wasn't on my mind. I have to admit, my kids are teenagers so it made my healing process easier...since teenagers don't really rely on parents as much....they think they know it all...lol. I wish you all the best, I know with 5 girls, it'll be challenging. -
Tomorrow is my sleeve day and the first day of emotional healing..

Congrats on your surgery tomorrow! Hope you have a smooth surgery and a speedy recovery! -
maybe next time they make a comment about your weight, take it as an opening to let them know your concerns and fears. Just let them know you will do your best to be healthier. Don't stress over it, you will be losing weight....just follow your doctor and nutritionist guidelines. We're all here for you!

I agree SleeveNZ that you should inform the military about this health issue. Good luck! -

Pre-surgery weight loss from 8/6/2012 - 02/21/2013: 25 lbs (10 lbs from pre-op diet) 8 weeks since surgery : 25 lbs (averaging 3.1 lbs per week) Starting BMI: 40.42 Current BMI: 31.27 Exercise: walking (weekdays: 10k - 15k steps) (weekend: 12k - 25k steps) occasionally a day of rest Food: 700-1000 calories per day (60-80 grams of protein); 8-12 cups of Water I am perfectly happy with my rate of weight loss! Less saggy skin...notice, I said "less" because I still have them....my "bat wings" are coming out....lol -
Good for you! I'm a walker also. I usually do 10 - 15k steps each day during the week and on weekends I increase my steps to 20 -25k steps each day. However the days I increase my steps, I also increase my calories...trying to keep my body from thinking it should go into starvation mode and present me with a stall.

Skin problem sitting
ISleevedIt replied to lilac lass's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
maybe you need to wear spanx or something to keep the loose skin from rubbing. As for the dry skin, I find using vitamin e oil helps my skin a lot. You can find a small bottle of it in the vitamin section. I find it keeps my skin hydrated very well. Also, make sure you are drinking enough fluids...this will help with dry skin also....good luck. -
I love tofu! I've had silken tofu before, but I prefer medium to firm tofu. I am passed the puree stage though, so the silken probably is the best for puree.
-
I had Korean beef bulgogi and some steamed asparagus for dinner....delicious! Now 15 minutes later, my tummy is growling at me and I'm burping...almost one bite too many, but luckily I stopped myself in time
-
maybe increase your calorie intake and fluids ...hope you get our energy back soon.
-
Congrats! Good luck with your surgery!

I had a $5 surgeon copay. That was all I had to pay. I have great insurance.
-
Yes, waiting is so hard, I had to do a 6 month program and it seemed like forever until it was within a month, then it didn't seem so bad. If we want it bad enough then we go along with the insurance companies and jump through as many hoops as necessary. Your time will come!
