    Work work work

I took 3 weeks since I have lots of use or lose sick time. Then I will have hand surgery and be out another 2 weeks. So I'll be out a total of 5 weeks. I'm making the most of this time off and getting in at least 5 miles of walking a day. I'm in agreement with beba, save your vacation days. Use it as a reward when you've reached goal weight.
  2. Good for you! You need to do what's right for you. I'm just hoping I won't have so much saggy skin so I don't have to spend the money for a "mommy makeover", even though I already know I'm going to need one.

    Gas x strips

I bought a box at Walgreens Drug Store and found I didn't need them. I was told to walk around to relieve gas pains. Never really felt any gas pains. I only felt one of my incisions and it was tolerable that I only had one dose of pain med right after surgery. so I guess for me, it wasn't worth it.
  4. Sorry to hear you're feeling lousy. Try getting some Unjury protein powder. I like the chicken broth and I have the unflavored protein also that I add to soups. lack of protein is probably making you feel so weak. Hope you feel better soon.
  5. Sorry to hear about your nausea. I knew I get nauseaous with anesthesia or pain meds after surgery from prior experience. So I talked to my doctor about it and prior to surgery they gave me a patch behind my ear. I had no problems with nausea then. It could be any pain meds that you are on that is causing the nausea. Try to do without it if you can and see if that helps. Good luck with it. I hope you feel better soon.
  6. Hi...try getting out to the mall and walking there. I've done that a couple of times when it was too cold to walk outside. It's in the 30's here and I just bundle up and go walking. The scale hasn't moved much for me, but I'm keeping up with the diet plan as well as the exercise because I know my body will eventually catch up to the calories I'm burning and let go of that darn fat!

    Need suggestions!

Have you tried plain non-fat greek yogurt yet? I add some orange flavor mio to it and it takes yummy. I also get SF pudding. You can do it....2 week isn't that long when you think about how much healthier you're gonna get. Good luck with it!

    Energy!

Hi, I drink the Costco premier protein drinks. I also like the Unjury chicken broth and unflavored powder that I ordered on-line. I am a week and a half out. Getting in my 60-80 grams of protein and my 8 cups of water.

    Drank too much soup

Well, I think I drank too much soup for dinner tonight. I had strained cream of celery. I had 2 cups of it so that I would not smell the 20 grams of unflavored protein powder I need to still get in for the day. Now I'm feeling very full and having to burp! The liquid goes down so easily for me. For the last 4-5 days, I've been able to drink 8-10 glasses of water on top of my protein drink/broths. I can't wait til I can add some solids or puree food.

    Sugar free Popsicles!?

    2 - 4.... I guess I'm a little piggie, but I just love the crunch.
  11. Hmmm, I'm not sure how long my surgery was. I went in at 12:30 and by 2 I was in my room and was released the next day at 3. My recovery is going smoothly and I hope it stays that way. Kinda scary when I read about others that had complications at 2 or 3 weeks out. I am so looking forward for the first month to be over so that I won't have to worry about complications as much.

    New Goal Setting for Summer

Hi Sleeve. sorry to hear about your loss, but when the time is right, I'm sure you'll have a beautiful healthy baby. I've just started my sleeve journey, so I would like to be able to lose 40 - 50 pounds by July 5th, my birthday. I plan on doing this by: 1. Walking at least 5 miles everyday 2. Sticking to my high Protein (60-80 grams per day) and low carb diet 3. Drinking at least 8 glasses of Water

    post op diet

I get those feelings also. I taking it as gas since I then feel I have to burp. Since I have no pain, I don't take any meds for it. Unfortunately I'm not sure I know what indigestion or heartburn feels like.

Blended drink- 8 days post op

That sounds so yummy, but i don't get pureed food for another 4 days. I have 2 weeks of full liquids before progressing to puree. I can't wait to try the pineapple orange smoothie!

    Help!

Hi, maybe you should check with your doctor. Are you sure you can't have protein? You need the protein to maintain your muscle. Clear liquids could be with the addition of protein powder. I have unflavored protein powder that I add to my clear broths.

    The great thread killer......

    LOL
  20. I'd jump up and down with you, but my tummy doesn't want me doing that yet When you meet with your surgeon and/or dietician they will let you know what type of pre-op diet you should be on. It varies quite a bit. I had to do one week liquid diet. You just take it one day at a time and you'll be there before you know it! Congrats!

    One month post op

I haven't been sleeved too long, but I try to stay away from the scale. It's discouraging when you don't see it move. It's really hard when the hubby asked if I weighed myself today. I know I've lost a couple of pounds, but am waiting until my first post-op appt on Monday to get the "official" weight from my doctor. Just keep working your sleeve and exercising and you'll continue to lose. I'm making sure I walk at least 3 miles a day and getting in at least 8 glasses of Water. I'm managing 8-10 a day now.

    Maintain muscle mass?

make sure you get in the amount of protein that your doctor recommends. Mine told me to make sure I get 60-80grams of protein a day.
