I am no longer obese! Now I am in the overweight category...sounds much better than obese. I had my 3 month post op appt with my surgeon. He said that I was doing great for the amount of weight I've lost and I was looking good. He checked the largest incision for a hernia and he said no hernia and everything is good. He gave me a slip for lab work to make sure everything is okay. I am just LOVING my sleeve!!!!

ISleevedIt replied to becky_mommyof4's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry to hear this....did you talk to your HR department and your insurance company to confirm. Each insurance plan is different and I'm not sure who the "few people" you are talking to....hope you are covered. good luck! -
Everyone hits stalls. If you're eating right a pound or two of gain could just be water weight. The scale will move again. Stalls are a b_tch and we all go through them. Hope yours break soon.

If you haven't found any discomfort then you are probably okay....many times, I'm not focused on what I'm eating and tend to take too big of a bite or not chew thoroughly before swallowing and I feel discomfort immediately.

You did what many of us do or have done at one time or another. My weight loss have slowed down for the same reason....eating junk food that can just "slide" right through your little tummy allowing you to eat more. If you stick to proteins then you will not be able to eat as much. I find the evenings the hardest for me. At work, I have no problem, but once I get home, the eating begins.....I know it's time to go back to a therapist but just haven't been motivated enough to do it yet. I am still losing but very slowly. Hope we both get back on track very soon.

smaller the average sleeve?
ISleevedIt replied to ShrinkingBiker's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I believe it can take up to 6 months for tall the swelling in your stomach to go down. Also, I believe this is called the "honeymoon" phase also since you can't eat as much....enjoy it! -
First flying experience post op tomorrow
ISleevedIt replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey, you're going to Hawaii! I wouldn't mind living in the plane's bathroom if it gets me to Hawaii. Maybe you can pack some lunch meat or some jerky for the protein. If I was going to Hawaii, I'd take the easy way and pack protein bars Enjoy your trip! -
Sorry to hear this. I don't always feel hungry, but I still eat to make sure I get in enough calories and fluids. If you can't eat the meals then drink the protein drinks because it should go through your sleeve quicker than food. And you really need to try and get in all your fluids. I'm sure you don't want another visit to the hospital for fluids. Good luck.

Congrats! Go with your gut....you'll know when it's right to tell.

Congrats! It's great to hear stories of people who are able to keep the weight off. This is my biggest fear. I know I can lose the weight, but have never been able to keep it off. I hope to be posting on this site in 2 years to say I've been able to maintain my weight. Congrats again! -
Ashbhey, hang in there. Things get better. As the swelling go down in your stomach you should be able to eat/drink more. It is important to get in your Protein so that you lose fat instead of muscle and of course the fluids help keep you from getting dehydrated. I know what you mean about the bariatric Vitamins. I take gummy Multivitamins for adults. In a couple of weeks I have my 3 month post-op appt with my surgeon and he told me he would order blood work then. I figure I'll make adjustments to my vitamins then if needed. Good luck with getting your vitamins/proteins/liquids in daily. Just remember that you went through this surgery so you could get healthy....and you know what you need to do to...no need to "bash" you over this, but I can give you a swift kick to get you going <kick><kick><kick>

I find that I can eat anything in TINY bites. I had half a slice of ice cream cake when my daughter turned 18. I found that cake and ice cream go down so easily that I have to make a conscious decision to only have a little. I do go out to restaurants. Sometimes I just order an appetizer for my meal and still have leftovers. As for alcohol, I have no clue since I'm not a drinker. I never really acquired a taste for alcohol. Just remember, everything in moderation.

Up the calories (for a day or two), up the fluid intake, and up the exercise -
