Have you tried any papaya enzyme? It helps with food digestion. It can be found in the vitamin section of the store. I found some at Trader Joe's and at CVS. Hope you feel better.

Just think, Easter dinner is going to everyone's hips except yours It's tough being around good food, but it was great that you had the will power to stay away from it. I'm sure the scale will let you know you made the right decision. I use to go for chocolate during "that" time of the month...if you do also, then maybe you can have some SF chocolate pudding (if your on full liquids). Chocolate always make me feel better

Hopefully with antibiotics you'll be all better!

Sorry to hear it. I wish you a speedy recovery!

Ham definitely qualifies as protein! Good luck with your pre-op diet. -
Having a hard time...
ISleevedIt replied to popsicle_20721's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Uh oh, sounds like you need to find something to occupy your mind so you don't think about food so much. Don't think of this as a diet by a new way of life and try to choose the food that is good for you (has nutritional value) first before going to the junk food. Have you tried any of the recipes that you can find here? there are some really good ones. Also maybe you can focus on taking smaller bites so that everything doesn't come back up. I would think having the protein shake sit in your stomach is okay until it goes through. You're getting your proteins in and you're not picking on foods that are bad for you. Good luck with it. -

Need some yelling at or some words of encouragement
ISleevedIt posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Help! For the last two days, I've been in kind of a funk. I'm thinking it's because I'm bored and it's been making me want to eat. When I do, it's usually SF popscicles, nonfat cottage cheese, low fat babybel cheese, or raw almonds EXCEPT yesterday, I did buy a caramel chocolate egg and some SF pecan delights. I ate the caramel chocolate egg, then had 2 pieces of the SF pecan delight. Today I ate the last 3 SF pecan delight (5 in a pkg). I mean I ate one after the other. It's evening so it's dark outside so I can't make myself go out walking. Yell at me or encourage me....just do something to help me get out of this funk. I don't want to fall back into bad eating habits and either not lose any more weight or start gaining the weight back. -
Congrats! Keep up with the fluids and proteins and the weight will come off.

Ahhh, I go back to work on Monday so it'll be a big distraction. The surgery on my left hand has kept me out of work this long. I may not be getting enough natural sunlight since it's so cold outside. Hopefully I will be able to walk in short sleeve soon and get some natural sunlight. I've been trying to keep sunscreen on the face and keeping it shaded with a straw hat since I'm getting those dreaded age spots now. love your energy Rebeca! When you're done with your kitchen, you're welcome to come over and do mine....I hate house work -
Congrats! I made drinking my main focus right after surgery. I watched how quickly the dye went through my little tummy when the leak test was done and I kept that in mind as to how quickly I can take another drink. Each morning, I focus on slowly sipping my protein drink til I got it all in. In the beginning it was an hour and a half, but it takes much less time now. When I was done with the protein shake, I went straight to drinking fluids. It'll help with the tiredness feeling also....good luck with getting in your proteins tomorrow and can't wait to see the pics!

Are you asking when to exercise? My exercise is walking and I started doing it every day before and after surgery. I haven't really gotten into any other types of exercise yet, but search around here and I'm sure you find many people talking about when and what exercise they do. good luck with it.

My First Step To A Healthier Life
ISleevedIt replied to SmileyJo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi and welcome! There's quite a bit of information on this forum. I read just about every day. I had a 6 month process prior to the surgery that I was able to get enough info from here that I did not feel nervous about the surgery at all. Good luck with your journey! -
ok ok TMI but....
ISleevedIt replied to Determined_Me's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yay! Remember it's get the proteins AND fluids down. -
New to group starting to look into having the sleeve done
ISleevedIt replied to clb164's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was right at 40.? when I was approved. I had high blood pressure and my cholesterol was high but not on meds for it yet. Gmanbat is right, if you have comorbidities then I believe the bmi needs to be at least 35. I've also read where people worked on gaining a few pounds since they are so close to the 40 bmi when there are no comorbidities involved. Hope you get approved for it. -

10 days post surgery and full of questions
ISleevedIt replied to LonghornNiner's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I bought the Unjury chicken flavor protein and the unflavored protein to add to soups. It's a good way to get in proteins without the shakes since you don't like protein shakes. Good luck. -
Amount of protein shake to drink for breakfast?
ISleevedIt replied to riemem01's topic in Food and Nutrition
I buy the chocolate shakes from Costco (premier protein or is it pure protein). I get confused with the name and am too lazy to go downstairs and check. Anyways, I drink the whole container. It gives me 30 grams of protein. It's a good start with getting in all my proteins for the day. So I would say you can drink the 8 oz.... Good luck with going back to work Monday. I go back on Monday also. I stayed out this long because I had hand surgery 2.5 weeks ago.
