I believe the pain in the neck and shoulders is gas. Get some Gas-X and you'll feel better. -

Anyone Else Have This Pain?
mdefabio replied to milkD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had those same pains. Sometimes it felt like a searing burning pain with a knife being stuck in there. Mostly on my left side. My surgeon said its was because she had to sew some muscles together, mostly on my left side. the right also, but that wasn't so bad. The pain would come and go. It would be there for a week or so then go away. When I became more active it would come back. I'm 5 weeks out and it's all gone. hang in there. I would call the doctor just to make sure. -
Hi Chris, my name is Maria and I to new that the sleeve was for me when I heard of it. I actually had my mind set on gastric bypass until my Chiropracter had me speak on the phone with one of his patients who had the sleeve done. I love what she had to say and I researched it. I knew then that this was for me. I am 5 weeks post op and feeling great. The first 4 weeks are the hardest. Being on full liquids gets tiring and boring. Mushy foods gets better. At least there is more of a variety. Now I'm starting to eat regular food. I take it very easy because my stomach still doesn't tolerate everything. I had my surgery July 11th and I'm down 31 lbs. I'm fitting into clothes I haven't worn in two to three years and I'm so happy. Everyone is noticing. By next summer hopefully I'll be able to put on a bathing suit and not feel like a beached whale!!!! Good Luck in your surgery. Don't be scared. They do so much of these surgeries everyday they could practically do them with their eyes closed. Just keep thinking about what you're gonna look like next year.

not have a sore thigh when I sleep too long on one side of my body!!!! -
I hear you. I'm 100% italian also. Food in the center of our world. Everything revolves around food and family. I just eat very little of whatever I can. Am I having my pasta? You bet I am. That's never gonna change. I try to eat my protein first and then the pasta. Somethings you just can't change!!!!

You're still very swollen. Give yourself a break. It will happen soon enough.

I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through. I hope they find it soon and fix it. Hang in there, fingers crossed and I'll keep you in my prayers.

What To Do W/these Incisions/scars?!

I didn't put anything on them and they are looking very good 4 weeks post op. -
I'm on the Medifast Protein Shakes. I buy the powder and mix it in the blender or bullet with three ice cubes and 3/4 cold water. Taste like frozen hot chocolate. I just ordered these Premier Protein Shakes that some of the people here are talking about. They have 30 grams of protein. I ordered them from Amazon.com but I heard Costco carries them.

Cocktails are very high in sugar and carbs. You really shouldn't be thinking about them!!!!

I'm 4 weeks out today. I've lost 28 lbs so far. That includes 1 week pre-op and two weeks post op and then went into a stall for the next two weeks. I saw a 1 lbs lose today so hopefully coming out of the stall. I saw my surgeon today and she gave me a clean bill of health. I'm doing fine. I also have a hard time getting my protein in. She told me between 40 - 60 grams of protein is just fine. 40 grams is about all I can do right now. She thinks it's fine. She wants me to drink more and excerise more.

It's pretty easy for me because I'm not hungary anymore. If I do get hungary or need some comfort i go for protein. I've made those cheese crisps and they are great to snack on. Also I'm on this site alot so I don't get up and down looking for food. -
How Many Ppl Exercised During Their Weight Loss Phase?
mdefabio replied to cmf1267's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I have been walking 2 to 4 miles three times a week and weight training (All pre-op). Now I'm 4 weeks post - op and my surgeon wants me to keep walking and also eliptical. In two weeks I can start weight training again. I've lost 28 lbs so far, but did go into a stall after 2 weeks out. Hopefully I'm coming out of my stall because I saw 1 lb lose today. -

Hi Dani, my name is Maria. I'm 54 have two children and happily married. I am 4 weeks post - op today and have lost a total of 28 lbs. For the past two weeks I've been in a stall. I didn't lose any weight, but I was losing inches. I finally lost 1 lb today. Hopefully I'm coming out of my stall. Don't be scared about the surgery. It's okay. Before you know it, they are waking you up and it's all over. It's just the unknown that's scary. They will give you medication through your IV to calm you down and then they will put you out. You'll get a good sleep and before you know it, it's done. Hang in there. I'll say a prayer for you Dani. Good Luck!!!!! -

I think you should just concentrate on your recovery and the hell with everything else. One thing at a time. Right now it's YOU time. That means to take care of yourself and everyone else can take care of themselves. Get it???? There's always a front door for whomever doesn't like it!!!! Good luck on your surgery. Remember you're beautiful no matter what. The person you're with should be able to see passed your weight and see your beauty. -
Plateau After Only Two Weeks?! Wtf!
mdefabio replied to samomom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I saw my surgeon today and she gave me a clean bill of health. I told her about the stall and she told me to drink more and walk more. So I'll take her advice. Also should be taking in 40 - 60 grams of protein because I'm only 4 weeks out today.
