Plateau After Only Two Weeks?! Wtf!
mdefabio replied to samomom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How can he prescribe Synthroid when he doesn't even know if you have a thyroid problem. Maybe you should go to an Endocrinologist and get his option. -
Good Luck and keep up the good work!!!!!

6 months of weight watchers is what I submitted. It was very much acceptable.

Didn't the nutritionist give you a pre-op diet plan? Try to get to the gym and do at least 30 mins. of cardio and 30 mins. of weight training. Also if you can avoid carbs, do it. Try to eat mostly protein with some added veggies. That should help you be in shape for Oct. Good Luck!!!!

Plateau After Only Two Weeks?! Wtf!
mdefabio replied to samomom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just came out of a stall that I was in for weeks. Your body is just getting used to the small amounts of food and is making sure you're not trying to starve it. Hang in there, it will start moving soon. -
My only regret is that I didn't do it much sooner!!!!!
-
At 7 to 10 days out I was on mostly protein shakes. At least four of my meals were protein shakes, one would be soup (pureed) and one would be yogurt or pudding.

I was obsessed over the scale. I was weighing myself 5 to 6 times a day. My doctor told me he was going to recommend psychotherapy for me if I didn't stop. It was becoming and OCD. Now I weigh myself once a day. I'm hoping to progress to only once a week. So I think not worrying about the scale is okay.

Has Anyonen Ever Failed With The Sleeve?
mdefabio replied to Chills562's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OA is Overeaters Annonymous. Is is based on the 12 step program. Not necessarily based around God as much as it is a "higher power". A higher power for some people can be the universe or for some a door knob. The point is that you believe their is someone or something out there that you can turn control over to. 12 Step programs are not for everyone, but you should give it a try to see if it's for you. -

How Do You Push The 1% Of What Can Go Wrong Out Of Your Head
mdefabio replied to smitten4glitter's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never thought about the 1%. I had my eye on the prize the whole time. What I'd look like a year from surgery. I'm 5 weeks out, down 31 lbs. and people are constantly telling me how good I look and they definitely see the weight coming off. that feels great. I want to be thin with every part of my being so the 1% wasn't even in the picture. Go for it. Nothing will go wrong and if it does, the doctors will fix it. Good Luck -
