  1. Yes, it's all very normal. And yes, you can live on that little. You're doing great. As time goes by and your stomach starts healing and the swelling goes down, you'll be able to drink more and eat more. Right now you should be on a full liquid diet. Yogurt, soup, cottage cheese, ricotta etc. At two weeks post op you can try mushy foods and see how that goes. Make sure you are taking your vitamins and supplements!!!!!
  2. I can't wait to go shopping in a normal size store and not plus size anymore!!!!!
  3. Great job!!!!!!! congrats!!!!!
  4. I'm 2 1/2 months out and I try to stay between 800 - 900 calories. I think you're not losing because your caloric intake is too low.

    Menstrual Post Op

I'm exactly the opposite. Right before my period I gain 3 - 5 lbs. When I get it, I lose the weight.

    Struggling With Protein

You're doing just fine. You can probably get some proteins from yogurt, cottage cheese, ricotta and more shakes. Your shakes are considered part of your water intake. When I was on full liquids I could barely get in 20 grams of protein. As time goes your stomach swelling will go down and you'll be able to get more protein in. Keep up with the shakes. When I want to boost my protein, I ordered Premier Shakes from Amazon.com. They are 30 grams of protein. Good luck and let us know how you're doing.

    Grazing?

Grazing is when you're home and bored and constantly walk back and forth to the kitchen to eat something (mostly snacks).

Say Something Nice About The Last Poster

I don't know if I could pinpoint just one person here. Anytime I've had a problem or needed advice so many jump in. So I think I want to say that everyone here is exceptionally special in their own journey and also the journey of the rest of us. You are all making amazing progress and I don't think it would have been as easy for me if I didn't have you all and this site. So thank you everyone!!!!

    First Time Post

Welcome Kevin and congrats on the 40 lbs. I don't know that staying on liquid will make the weight loss any faster. I actually think you'll start losing more when your body knows you're not starving it and starts letting go of the fat cells. I would ask your nutritionist. Good luck to you.
  16. come to think of it, my first stall was around 28 or 29 lbs.
  17. you are very welcome. and p.s. I am obsessed with the scale also. Not a good thing. My doctor told me if I don't stop weighing myself 5 to 6 times a day he's going to recommend I see a therapist. So now I'm down to about 1 to 2 times a day. I working toward 1 times a week.
  18. I'm two months post op and down 40 lbs. I'm just coming out of my second stall. Last week I battled 3 lbs. up and then down. Didn't switch up anything except excercised more. people keep telling me that muscle weighs more than fat so that could be it. You could be building muscle and losing inches. It will catch up eventually. Give it a chance. Good Luck.....
  19. Yes, it's very normal. You are still very swollen are filled with gas and liquid. Also your body thinks you're starving it so it will hang on to the fat until it figures out that you're not starving it. Give it a chance. You'll start losing soon. Good luck to you.

    What Is Wrong?

I had my surgery on 7/11/12 and have lost 39 lbs so far. I'm now in my second stall ugh!!! It's normal, so I'm told. Don't lose faith it will come off. Good luck.
  24. Lots of people on this site go to Mexico. It's much cheaper. I've seen prices from $4500 to $7500. Dr. Alverez seems to be very popular. I have his book and he seems to know a lot. Good luck to you.
