Support System Or Lack There Of...
mdefabio replied to bandalyons83's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My husband came to all my doctors appointments and also to the pre-op and post-op meetings. I've printed out a lot of my research for him to read. He was just as prepared as I was when it was time for my surgery. He remembers things said in the surgeons office and meeting that I forget. I am so thankful for him. -

I can have bread and it doesn't bother me. I try to keep my carbs at a low. If I do want a sandwich once in a while, I'll toast an Arnold Select Sandwich Thin. That's more than enough for me.

I was sleeved on July 11th and I get the hiccups often, especially after I eat and am full.

I really don't think that a teaspoon of cornstarch will be detrimental to your weight loss.
-
Everything will go great. Just stay positive and keep thinking about the end results.

It is very much okay not to feel well right now. You're still healing from major surgery. Baby yourself and give yourself some time. -
Sorry I have Oxford.

I didn't take my pain meds. Instead I took extra strength Tylenol. I worked for me. -
How about Tofu? I don't eat it but it's high in protein. I like Edamame and that's high in protein and very good for you also.

I had the worse muscle spasms in my stomach every time I moved. They were horrible. I really didn't do anything about them. My doctor said it was normal and they would eventually go away and they did. They lasted from the hospital until 4 to 6 weeks out.
-
I have the same problem. We should be getting in at least 70 - 80 grams of Protein.
-
No they are gummies so I chew them. I am 3 months out and have been taking them since I came home from the hospital. I also take Caltrate chewable calcium with vitamin D 2 x a day.

Eating @ 1 Month, 1 Week Post Op
mdefabio replied to mgsmith72's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't eat the whole time I was in the hospital and when I came home I didn't eat much either. Probably a couple of spoonfuls also. It's very normal. It will get better when your swollen stomach starts going down and healing. Make sure you're getting your fluids in (Protein shakes). -
I agree!!!!
-
Congrats!!!!!! How many lbs have you lost so far and when did u get sleeved?

Congratulations on your 37 lbs. I drink Medifast dark chocolate powdered shakes. I make them with Water and ice and they taste like frozen hot chocolate. You can trace your Protein, fat, sodium, calories etc on www.Livestrong.com. The site does it all for you and it even calculates your exercise. As far as a multi-Vitamin, I take One-A-Day Vitacraves. They are gummies and are yummy. Take two gummies a day. I'm not sure about the green tea. I'm pretty sure it's okay. As long as it doesn't have any caffeine. Good luck.
