Hi there ...first time on this forum so I hope Im in the correct area.
I was sleeved on the 20th of July this year in Bunbury Western Australia by Surgeon Senerath Wierpidia. Pre Op I weighed 120 kgs and my height was 186 cms. I guess my BMI wasnt over the top but I had that dreaded "fat stomach" which I wanted to get rid of. Suffering from slight high blood pressure made the decision easier in the end.
Since the op and as at today the 6th Sept I weigh 98 kgs. I have never felt so fit, full of energy and able to do a multitude of things I couldnt do before the surgery. God - I couldnt even do up my shoe laces without suffering some form of positional asphyxsia.
I know Ive probably...no definitley been eating too much since my surgery so I guess Im probably answering my own question before I type it.
I find that with almost any food I eat and regardless of what reflux tablets I take I get this awful taste in my mouth ....much the same as that pre vomit taste (apologies for the terminology but really cant think of any other way to explain it).
It then seems to hover around in my chest just above my rib cage and stays there for several minutes until clearing.
Ive heard that this may be something to do with a mucus discharge which is fairly normal around the operation site and may dissapear in a few months.
It really only happens when I eat and not with all foods ....most though and drinking doesnt seem to bring the uncomfortable feeling on most of the time.
Has anyone experienced similar or could offer me some advice on this please.
Many thanks in advance.
