New Jersey, checking in!
-
I was sleeved on 12/19. I lost 26lbs relatively quickly, within the first two weeks. I haven't lost an OUNCE since 1/2. Does the stall eventually break for everyone? I just don't understand how I can be taking in SO little and not be losing! Especially compared to how I ate before surgery. So frustrated. Is it possible that 26lbs is all I will lose???

Day 6 - Post Op....Mentally Hungry
Lauren610 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tips/tricks to help when you aren't physically but mentally hungry? My surgeon has me on liquids for 2, purée for 2 and soft for 2. I am literally dreaming about the purée phase just for the different flavors of food ill be able to enjoy. Is everyone on the same 2-2-2? -
Not Telling People....
Lauren610 replied to JPSnAZ's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At first I swore I wouldn't tell anyone. I was so embarrassed! But now that I've actually had it done (6 days post op - down 12lbs) I don't feel that way anymore. I'm not going to scream it from the rooftops, but if someone asks I am pogoing to proudly say "I had weight loss surgery" because what do I care what someone else's opinion is as long as I am seeing results? If anyone wants to talk negatively about my decision they will have to speak up if they want me to hear them from the losers bench, where ill be sitting in my single digit size clothes -
December 19th sleevers?
Lauren610 replied to biddykm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Ladies! I just wanted to check in and see how everyone was doing I was sleeved on 12/19 and so far, so good. I was only in the hospital for one night and haven't felt hungry or nauseous since the procedure. Maybe mentally hungry (food commercials!) but definitely not physically hungry. Traci, I would also love to know how you are getting your Protein in! I've only been drinking tea, apple juice (cut with water), chicken broth and plain Water. I tried Jello - but it was way too sweet for me. How is everyone doing with pain? I am still pretty sore, but definitely getting better. It mostly hurts when sitting up from a laying down position. I am trying not to weigh myself - but it's been tough! I am trying to hold out until my follow up visit with my surgeon next week. Thin Thoughts! Lauren -

Any New Jersey Gastric Sleevers?
Lauren610 replied to babygirl63's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yikes! That is one of the things in the most nervous about. I can't imagine not "chewing" for 2 weeks. Did you feel hungry? Were you allowed to have gum or hard candy during that time? -

That's awesome and so inspiring!! Any tips?! -
The thing that scares me the most is NOT knowing what to expect, so I am grateful that you are sharing your experience and giving a heads up! I have never had any surgery before, so I guess that is what is freaking me out the most. The most I ever had done was a widsom tooth extraction lol, I think I was only under anesthesia for about 30 min for that procedure. I called the office today and they told me they received all of my paperwork to submit to the insurance, which was a load off my mind. The only thing I have left to worry about are my PATs and my Medical Clearance. I was hoping I could come back to work after about a week off, would you say that after a week you are feeling to tired to get back to your normal daily routine? I am having my procedure done at Hackensack. I live in Sayreville, originally from Englishtown (by way of Brooklyn). How long were you in the hospital? Did you feel any hunger while you were in Phase I? I can't imagine not chewing for almost a month! lol I am so anxious, I wish my surgery date was sooner

October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves

Hi Everyone, I have been reading these forums or several weeks, so much helpful information! My sleeve procedure is scheduled for October 18th, with Dr. Amit Trivedi. I'm just plain SCARED. Any advice on how to find some much needed courage? Most of my fears are regarding the procedure and anesthesia itself. I'm also worried about having regrets about having an "irreversible" procedure. I already regret the permanent tattoo I got on my 17th birthday (lol). Anyone who anyone who regretted being sleeved? Thanks in advance
