    so excited

What a great motivation for both of you. Good luck!
  5. Congratulations on getting your date! You trust your surgeon and your reasons for moving forward with surgery are all still in place. You can make it the next few weeks. Try and focus on all you'll be able to do after surgery. Gather recipes, clean your closets of things you will never need again. Start your exercise plan... Prepare yourself yes, but try not to only focus on fear of complications. You can do this!! 26 days to a new way of life!

    I need your input please

I can imagine how difficult it can be to feel fatigue with no apparent cause. I completely agree with Iggy about the supplements/diet, My NUT put me on Vit D and B-12 in addition to what you're on. Both Vit D and B-12 Deficiencies can cause fatigue. But taking them isn't an over night game changer. Both take a while to build up in your system and make a difference. Try changing up your diet, add in good carbs and track everything so you can refer back and see what works for you. That being said, some people just have different reaction to surgery overall. My sister and I both had surgeries around the same time, she was plagued with fatigue and I wasn't. Dehydration could also be a factor, I've found I can get in more liquids if I add in a Vitamin Water Zero or herbal tea during the day. Both go down easier than water for me. Good luck, keep picking the brains of people here and consult with your Docs. Hopefully this will all turn around for you very soon

Has your Nutritionist put you on any vitamin/mineral supplements? Also, of your 800 calories, how much protein are you able to get in?

    Life after Gallbladder removal

I had my gallbladder out 1 month prior to sleeve surgery, in November 2012. I was already on a low carb/low fat diet so I did not have to alter that. I did feel a little bloated and made frequent bathroom runs for a few weeks, then had the sleeve and was on liquids for a bit. Now that I'm a little further out, no problems at all.

    Energy

Hi Lori, I haven't struggled with energy myself, but if at all possible, try increasing your Protein. Even it you get it from protein Soup (Unjury), other protein enriched drinks or an additional shake. Are you on any Vitamin /mineral supplements?

    1 month out and aggravated...

Soon enough you'll be ok for the denser meats. It's not steak, but have you tried meatloaf? I use 97% beef or ground turkey. Even make a burger. As long as you use low-fat ground meat for now, maybe that will satisfy that craving. Use a little A-1, just a taste if you need. I don't have the stats on A-1 but it may be high in carbs/salt so be careful.

    How do you sip?!

You can get some 1oz. medicine cups on Amazon, if you don't have one handy. I used them in the hospital and the first few days I was home. I agree, you'll get the hang of it really quickly. I was a fast drinker before and did not find it hard to mind what I was doing.

    1 month out and aggravated...

Hey Jannette: There are definitely times that are more frustrating than others. How far out are you? And at what food stage are you? Head hunger /food withdrawals are way harder to get over, in my opinion. Part of the reason I failed at regular dieting at times was I got sick of feeling I was denying myself. BUT, we can make good food choices that are really tasty and that will satisfy some of the cravings we're having. Some recipe sites that have come in handy... Emilybites.com theworldaccordingtoeggface.com Depending on how far out you are, there is no reason that you can't find easy recipes that will satisfy your mind and your palate. You can do this. It is a non-compromising, life-altering change we have made, but we can choose to make the most of it. On a positive note, you decided to post instead of making a bad food choice. Good luck!!

    "Normal"

HI Heather, I think it is completely "normal" to feel this way initially. The reality is you had major surgery, you are not quite yourself yet. Your body is adjusting. I am 7 weeks out, and for the first week, I didn't feel bad.. just not normal. I was overly aware and nervous about every noise my body was making.Every move I made I was timid, not knowing how it would effect me. I felt I spent the entire day counting my Fluid and Protein shake intake. And you know what, I did. lol but it got better... After the first week, normalcy started to return. I wasn't as sore and my new sleeve wasn't making the gurgling noises I had gotten accustomed to. I could drink more and with ease. Walking definitely helped, being off pain meds made me feel more like myself too. I only took the meds for a day once I was home, but felt it took a few days to get them and the anesthesia out of my system. Give it a little time. Search the forum, you will see a bunch of us had the same type of experiences. We can do all the research we want and it still cannot compare to living it to understand exactly how it will feel. Good luck!

    Need some support and reassurance!

I totally agree, sending them more than 3 years of weight history should help. My coordinator explained to me that they really want to see a history of weight issues, going back at least 3 years, more can only help your cause. Good luck
  19. Good luck today and for a smooth recovery!! You got this!

My Nutritionist had me progress a little faster, I was 2 week full liquids, 2 weeks purees, 2 weeks soft foods and this week will progress to regular foods.

    Serious pain

I've come to realize that as many of us as there are, there are that many different diet progressions from our Nutritionists. Hopefully this discomfort is a one time thing. Glad you haven't had issues before. Good luck.

    Serious pain

How far our are you? Raw veggies are still a no no for me until I visit my NUT again and I'm at 6 weeks.
