What are the "new rules to lifting"? I'm doing the About.com 3 weeks to a 30-minute running... I'm going at the pace I can, (which I know it'll be more than 3 weeks for me) and it's a walk/jog/run (not in that order all the time). But it's fun. You can do it.

That does sound tasty. I shall add this one to my VST recipe folder

How Protein is added/taken away if you sub chicken instead of turkey?
-
I found that I tolerate Cereal by eating w/o milk and drinking the milk after to "chase it" down
-
Now what would that be for us who don't have a crock pot? and how long would the cooking process take then?
-
Well that shows me I (REALLY) need to read the label more closely. I'm almost sure I get as much if not more calcium than my doctor recommends. Thank you O.T.R.

I've done that with the turkey (not a fan of the chicken ). I like to use boston bib lettuce or just the meat itself depending on the thickness it can act as the 'bread'. I also like using flatout fold it and make a 'taco'. However you choose to do it, it's good

Wow Finally A Protein Drink I Like!
CoolBreeze replied to BlueOctoberGirl's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Now that does sound like a great idea. I work nights on the weekends and have a hard time getting in protein as well as food (dinner is a challenge). If you have to "snack" on something, might as well make it worth it. BTW, why are so many Protein Bars chocolate? Is most of the protein in chocolate? -

What ever will make comfortable is what you must do. Keep this in mind: GOD WILL NEVER TAKE YOU WHERE THE GRACE OF GOD WON'T PROTECT YOU. You will be in great hands. Let us know how doing and see you after surgery. -
I agree. I walked the last 3 blocks to my home carrying 3 bags (weighing 5lbs each) uphill. There's a workout for you. Or cleaning office buildings using a vac, walking up AND down 2-3 flights of stairs - daily. Yep I'd called that working out and working off pounds as well as calories. Whew!!

New Here, Sleeved 9/18, My Story.....sort Of
CoolBreeze replied to Grek79Ital's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats on the 29lbs lost so far. It seems like you went thru in 6 months what I did in 3 (guess insurance companies are just as different). I have been on my WLS Journey since January 30 (1st time I met my surgeon) when I started the thinking process and after attending the seminar I made up my mind I was having the surgery and there was no question it would be the Sleeve. Like you, I did not like the thought of a band (stretching, popping, rusting..it all went thru my head), Bypass - well - the biggest no no was what is the point of making a pouch and then leaving everything else inside me - to just what...hang around? OH NO. Re-route was a word I use when on a trip. . If you're going to give me a pouch and the rest of my stomach serve NO PURPOSE at all - Take it out. Thus my research found the Sleeve and the decision was made. Welcome to VST and welcome to the loser's couch -

I am the same way. I was sleeved June 26 and I did not find this app until July 20 and I immediately joined. Myfittnesspal took a day or 2 for me to figure out but I'm glad I joined that too. You can add me on MFP (I'm snakedoctor2 there) -

Almost A Week Post Op
CoolBreeze replied to sunsetblvd68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Where's the pain you're feeling? I had a pain I figure out and come to find out it was one of my incisions. It wasn't major but like you said nawing and annoying. All my doctor did was clip the piece of nylon stitching and within a day or two the pain started to deminish. He also pointed out to me that it was common and part of the healing process, which for WLS patients can take 6-8 months or longer to completely heal on the inside (I'm 2 1/2 months post op and every now again I get a pain). CoolBreeze -
Great job on your pre op weight lost. 70lbs you don't have to worry about post op . Let us know how your doing. Or tell your surgeon to post it when she or he is done. Blessings to you and welcome to the losers couch CoolBreeze

My doctor also used the glue. Glad he did. It disappears and my incisions are healing nicely. CoolBreeze
