    June 2007 Bandsters

I DID. I have tried to loose 44 pounds for 10 years and have been unsuccessful. More importantly I have been terrified for 10 years of gaining more and every year I have put on a few more pounds. I wanted to stop the train before I had serious health problems. I already have severe back trouble. To me it was way worth it. I think down the road I hope this surgery will be availabe for prevention.

    June 2007 Bandsters

I recieved my second/third fill last week. I have really had some struggle with it. I had my band installed June 25th and have lost about 16 pounds. Not a whole lot but I did not have a high BMI in the first place. It was so nice to be able to refer to this sight and read all of your blogs. It is very helpful....thanks!!!

    Lower BMI

Not many surgeons would do it. This a VERY reputable one in Dallas that would do it. It's more like 40 pounds overweight. I know it doesn't seem like alot of weight to some but to me, the one who has tried everything for 10 years and is miserable it is alot of weight. How much more weight do I have to gain for it to be OK? How much more depression/joint pain do I have to have for it to be acceptable? Where does prevention factor in. Do you have any idea the name of the surgery in Britan is.

    Lower BMI

Yes, that's how most are but some are now doing the procedure for lower BMI's and calling it "cosmetic". It looks safer and looks to have better long term change potential than lipo, etc.

    Lower BMI

I have a BMI of about 29.5, which is about 30 pounds overweight. I know to some that might not seem like alot, but it is to me. I have been trying to loose that 30 pounds for about 10 years. LOTS of exercise, portion control, crazy diets whatever. We have many severely overweight folks in our family. It is a daily battle. Filling up faster sure sounds appealing. Is there anyone out there with a lower BMI, like mine, that has had the lapband? What is your experience? Happy you did it?:phanvan
