I like the Oh Yeah ready to drink shakes. They have a Banana Cream and a Chocolate that are good. They also have 32 grams of protein. -
I've Had Surgery, Now What?
mzblacque replied to mzblacque's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you for your responses. It is so difficult when you feel like your are NOT the normal one that had the surgery. You hear such great results and then you look at your own scenario and wonder are you the failure. Thank you Iggychick for your words as you have been down a rocky road and understand what I am dealing with. I am so glad this group is available. -
Hello everyone, I had surgery on 9/5/12. On 9/10/12, it was discovered that I had a leak. I underwent emergency surgery, stayed in the hospital for 2 weeks and was on a feeding tube for 7 weeks total. During this ordeal, I lost a total of 30lbs. I have not loss anything since. I dont work out because I still have very little energy. I dont eat very much at all, but I am not losing anymore weight. My body still aches, but I was told that I am still healing from the trauma of 2 major surgeries back to back. I am getting discouraged because I hope I didn't put my body through this for 30lbs. I am posting this topic in hopes of hearing any similar stories or suggestions that may help me. My sw was 314 and I am currently 284. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Surgery went well. Only true pain was from main incision. My blood pressure was up and i ran a temp. Didn't think i was going to be able too come home but when they gave me medicine for my bp and switched me from the morphine to liquid vocodine, i felt much better. I was just discharged and on my way home

This is great to hear. I work for BCBS Federal and most employees are glad that the turn around time is so expeditious. I am glad that you have had a pleasant experience and just know that there are several perks available for BCBS members as a whole and BCBS Fed members specifically. Good luck on your journey.

I am sorry that this has happened to you. I work for an insurance company and I often see wls denied due to the doctors not submitting all of the necessary documentation to support the need for wls such as co-morbitities, psyche eval, smoking history and substance abuse history. I can be as simple as the office needing to send additional documentation. There is still hope to achieve approval prior to surgery so please dont give up. My prayers are with you that everything will work out. If your insurance covers wls, and you know you have met the requirements, then I DO believe everything will work out. My prayers are with you.

Best of luck to you.....
