    Be careful. ..

Hmm whats a size 12 and size 7 in the us? Size 12 here is skinny a “normal” person a size 7 is a child or a really really tiny and/or underweight grown up. I know in plus sizes we are a size up so if you’re a 30uk you’re a 28us, I think a size 0us is a 6uk you have so many different sizes its confusing!

    Am I finally thin?

I would say yes your “normal” now you didn’t make it easy as you’re in jeans and a jumper lol But yeah you are! I think we have the same belly lol like oh I can wear 1 size down but when I do a bunch of saggy skin gives me a impressive muffin top I can’t jam under my waistband so I go a size up, where you know the butt and legs are a little looser but way less saggy skin muffin top lol I think you look great! Btw in the picture album right click the pic and either rotate clockwise or anti clockwise click to open it and it should show you the actual way it was taken and now turned. I assume that pic was taken on a phone? Always have to turn them once loaded to a puter lol

    High Heels....

oh yes indeed! though i had to retrain myself to wear heels so i cooked and cleaned the house in them lol looks funny as hell hoovering in 6inch heels but gets you used to them without busting your butt in the street!
  11. I get that its fairly new in the world of wls but its more common in the us than in the uk and you have a longer history and statistical record than we do. I was told that point blank but its just as effective if not more so as more and more are being done and more data is collected they are beginning to find this is actually better than the bypass. One doctor I saw in my team did try and push the bypass on me telling me I wouldn’t do as well and gain weight and need the bypass in 2 years so why not do it now and save the time and money, that’s when my surgeon whos been doing wls for 10 years told me the facts and no I don’t need bypass at all. So I just don’t understand why everyone is being told over and over its not as good. Its kinda like they wanna defeat you before you even start by telling you its not as good and wont last so don’t get your hopes up. Just crazy to me.
  12. There is a non surgical option barely talked about because its not a long lasting option at all. I talked about it and considered it when I was 350lbs. They put 1-3 medical grade plastic balls in your stomach and inflate them restricting the space just like any of the wls options at max you can have them in 4 months before they have to come out and either you don’t need them again or you can have them in again after a month or 2. How they are put in is via your mouth non medical terms here stick a tube down there feed the ball down once its in the stomach inflate it done, they come out the same way deflated and taken back out. You have to moderate eating habits or you will be sick as they take up over 50% of the stomach space you get the full feeling on smaller amounts of food just like any of us as you always are half or more full all the time with the balls. Also its meant to be a tool to retrain the brain on learning the real full signals and not the eating too fast head hungry thing. We all kinda learn that stuffed/bloated is our stop full and even then we may or may not take a few more bites it depends on your eating habits, this is NOT the real full signal we should be going by. We all learn/retrain the brain what the real full signal is after one of these ops we have no choice, this could be just what she needs. Also I know this is sensitive I was indeed one of them kids I was put in hospital at a young age not even my teens for 3 months to help me so I know how sensitive this is so don’t take this wrong please- it’s a highly emotional thing you said your daughter is upset a lot of the time maybe shes emotionally eating so shes always hungry because shes always trying to deal with her feelings. Maybe shes not always hungry maybe shes just using her coping mechanism which is food.
  13. I can’t help but I wanted to say something I have read a couple of posts here and there how docs keep suggesting a 3rd op when its not going to statistical plan instead of taking the time to ask more question and to me give more help. It amazes me that a few posts from members here shed more light on what could be the issue within a hour than a doctor is doing in a month +. Another recent post was a lap band to sleeve also being told maybe go back in and do the bypass- holy hell! That’s a lot of surgical trauma to put a body through when it could be as simple as wrong nutritional advice because they are focusing on 1 pre-existing medical issue and not the overall factors. I hope everything works out for you and you find a groove your happy with. it may be slower than average because you do have other things and medication to factor in but I hope you do work out something that works for you.

    water guzzling

I don’t chug but then again I don’t drink Water never have, weekly I don’t even drink a glass of it plan on its own. I used to like water but water wasn’t my friend after the op and its kinda still not my friend so just water nope. Do I chug any drinks? Nope if I go too fast I puke it all up so for me no chugging.
  15. Hmmm interesting as to me it depends on your starting weight bigger people go down faster so I would go with my weight grouping and that’s over 400lbs and say after 3 months slow would be 30-60lbs, average 90-150lbs and fast would be 200lbs+.
  16. Next month send them a doctored picture a skeleton head on your body with your eyes and mouth with your hair and ask how you look now you think your face is a lot thinner lol
  17. just wanted to say/ask why do people think you can't lose as much weight with this? I have lost 205lbs in total from heaviest weight before pre op diet 216lbs total that's just over 50% of my body weight and although its going at a snails pace now I haven't stopped. so from my experience its more than possible to lose a lot of weight with this option by the looks of it many members of this board also lose a lot of weight/get to goal sooooo why is it always said its not as good or as high in weight loss numbers/percentages?

    Surgery not performed?

you may also have a bigger sleeve coming out due to a bigger stomach to begin with. not pushing/testing by going over what your told to consume is the right thing to do the bigger space means you can hold the amount just fine.

I feel as if I made a bad decision.

i don’t have experience with this personally to help but just ideas I have a small sleeve and I puked a lot at first, ok I still do but not as much anyway I went through all the food stages and just puked and puked and puked my doc told me to go all the way back to the start and work forward again. My little sleeve was swollen and small so it needed extra time to get better and used to eating again. I would assume you have a smaller sleeve as you were banded so the size of your stomach would be smaller before the op leaving you with a smaller sleeve. I still eat smaller portions than most at my stage one of my doctors has honest to god suggested I try and stretch it by drinking carbonated drinks all day every day he said he shouldn’t be suggesting it but that’s something I can do to give myself some more room. I haven’t tried this though. If every single thing hurts and makes you sick even water then there is a problem. If its just a case of overfilling a little stomach cut back on the size of your portions. good luck

    Sleep apnea

I was diagnosed with it 8 months before because I kept falling asleep like people talking to me and I would fall asleep, be working at the computer and wake up when I dropped the mouse, and I would find myself sitting up a lot in my sleep falling asleep sitting up waking up again it was so random so they tested me and yep I had it. So for 6 months I had the dearth Vader mask it’s a massive difference honestly but not very comfortable if I am honest. Had the op didn’t use it in the hospital so when I come home I thought just let me heal I will be fine within a month I was totally fine no odd sound no stopping breathing no scaring the sh*t out of my family with the sounds I made when sleeping. Once the weight had gone down off my neck and boobs I was fine and no longer needed it. I gained weight on my face and neck last and my boobs had got really big that’s when I got it too much weight on my neck. Cpap helps you rest and get the much needed sleep you require the op can eliminate the need for one if it was due to weight.

    Protein question

oh yeah the stand, walk, shake/dance around while massaging your belly move with the deep breathing know it well! lol still do it from time to time now honestly its normal that stuff is pretty dense so feels like a brick for a while.
  22. Its always your decision of course at the end so I wont tell you what to do but I can tell you why I had the sleeve. I personally know a few people who had bypass and the malabsorption thing for 4 of them is bad, at the time of me deciding what I wanted (even though the by pass was being pushed on me by one saying just have it so I don’t come back in 2 years wanting it because I gained weight) I really didn’t want it so I spoke to my surgeon he has been doing these ops for 10 years he took my gall bladder out and hes to the point no BS. He agreed with me and with my ibs he wasn’t comfortable doing it anyway. As that’s a intestinal problem moving them around was a unknown outcome as to it helping making it worse etc I already had absorption problems anyway to then have that op could make it utterly impossible for me to absorb anything and that’s a major problem. To me just losing 80% of my stomach was enough to Frankenstein my insides honestly scared me and i did not want that at all. I was already on every Vitamin going at crazy levels to just try and absorb them making that worse ugh (actually now I take way way less its great!) I asked my doc about the bypass being pushed on my he said there isn’t as much info on the sleeve as it was originally part of the 2 stage then seeing how well it was doing it became its own stand alone choice. In comparison its just not got as much history so is a baby compared to the data on bypass. The sweets thing having a op just to be able to eat them and have a reaction to make you stop isnt wise its kinda like adverstion treatment to make you stop instead of learning to on your own. A friend of mine got such bad dumping she would pass out from it first few times her kids called a ambulance because they thought it was a heart attack. Some people its mild discomfort others its out and out full on sweating can’t breathe pain and passing out its no walk in the park at all.

    Is there anything more depressing...

the front for me was the last to start going so it wasn't till the hairdresser put a mirror up to show me my hair cut did i see exactly how much i had lost all over, i mean i knew my ponytail was thinner i just didn't know because i can't see the back of my head with my own eyes!

    Is there anything more depressing...

Don’t cut it all off you can’t hide it as well if you chop it all off! I lost well over half my hair and what didn’t fall out broke really easily my hair felt like a babies hair. I didn’t go to the hair dressers for about 4 months when it started to fall out when I did he was s shocked at how much had fallen out. You cant really get extensions either your hair is weak and falling out clip ins are too heavy they will pull out your hair and glue ins the same thing its heavy it weights the hair down so will make whats already coming out worse. I had thin hair anyway to begin with if I had hair like my sister no one would of noticed sadly I am the only one of 5 girls who didn’t get the thick unruly head of hair that looks like you have 3 wigs on at once! I would keep hair appointments as long as I could go inbetween cuts but when its thin and straggly you just have to go you keep it blunt cut to look thicker. My regrowth now its about 3 inches long now its like I have odd layers in my hair but its growing back! Still not as thick as my thin hair was originally but thicker than hello scalp all over my head! I take 2 10,000mg tabs of biotin a day I buy it off amazon I think it helped I wish I had taken it before it started falling out not when it did start might have saved some of my hair! It is really sad though seeing your hair all over your pillow in your bed on your clothes like a shedding cat how much breaks or comes out when brushing it the handfuls that come out when your washing it and there is nothing you can do to stop it just try and slow it down!
