    Travel & Protein Shakes

There is soooo many more rtd options in the us even general packet you mix up. But a option to look up and pack with you is a PhD option I have used them before all 3 flavours the orange is best imo. it’s a juice not a milk drink does have a dry effect like you need a drink after and a slightly yoghurt taste which seems strange as its juice but served cold really cold takes the after taste away some. This is the link to read up on them not in stock right now but you should be able to find some by googling. http://www.dolphinfitness.co.uk/en/phd-nutrition-whey-zero-500ml-rtd/29122 also if you get a medical note from your doctor you won’t have any issues being allowed to take what you need through customs.
  2. You could get a fridge for the room I have one in my bedroom as its in the top of a 3 story Victorian house I work from home so I have 2 work stations one in my bedroom because I work overnight and one at a desk in the livingroom. But still not on the same floor as the kitchen so its easier to keep shakes in drinks fruit food even if its left over dinner from the night before I am eating for lunch the next day. Get out of that room walk around the block for a hour boredom also leads to eating for a lot of people, if your not used to being stuck indoors with nothing to do it could lead to mindless snacking. Maybe not be so invisible clean the house for your friends cook them dinner do chores they need doing so you’re a help not a burden to them. Sit and have a chat with your friends they obviously took you in and have not yet kicked you out tell them you feel like your in the way you don’t want to take up space and what can you do to not be that and help out. You need to stop hurting your wallet as well all this eating out is costly, go shopping with your friend pay for half the food bill make meals together. You are a friend who was welcomed not a stranger not a tenant but a friend.

    Stalls are a myth!

I personally have never knowingly had one because I don’t weigh myself unless at the hospital or doctors the further out I have gone the less I go for appointments so it could be a month or more before I am weighted. That’s best for me never had to deal with the upset or mind F of it being the same or gained then back to the same again. No one else has to follow what I do but I honestly think the constant weigh checking is part of the problem even weekly I think is too much. I also think the good willed “once a week only” becomes couple of times a week then daily then several times a day and the not even registered weighing of your self like every hospital or doctors appointment plus at the gym too. You then beat yourself up all the time on it not moving or not moving fast enough, not moving like others or stalling or even gaining. I always knew and understood this is a tool and takes time and everyone is different so I don’t obsess over my weight so I do what I do every day as far as food and all that goes and I let my body shed its weight as and when it sees fit.
  4. I picked mine because he performed my gall bladder op a few years before and talked to me about wls and said if I ever wanted to discuss it further then to be referred to him. When the time come that’s exactly what I did.

    Is there an eating schedule?

About 15mins liquid is done so a hour and half later is more than enough time for it to flush out. Egg and i don’t get on so I can’t tell you how it feels to eat eggs but everything you eat at the start feels tight and full and like your stuffed to the brim for a very very long time.
  7. I’m another person who doesn’t have a scale and only gets my weight checked at the doctors or hospital. I read how obsessive people were with daily or even multiple daily weight checks and I did not want to be one of them people so I never got one. its never bothered me to know weekly and every time I get checked I am always down so never had disappointment or unhappy stressed out feelings about any of this.

    being "perfect"

I’m not perfect by any means I don’t do much excise I don’t drink even 1 glass of Water a week let alone a day. I am not hardcore on eating I will eat junk food Snacks like chocolate chips Cookies etc if I want just a little bit though. I do eat healthy I don’t eat rice Pasta potatoes very little bread I don’t eat take away at all and rarely eat out but that’s due to me being a tightwad and not wanting to pay x amount for the little I eat lol I drink Protein shakes and I take my Vitamins that’s about it. So yeah not perfect by any means its not all organic no cheating what so ever gym 6 times a week water water water at all for me. I’ve lost over 200lbs what I do works for me I don’t go over the top with my bad habits and I don’t go over the top being perfect either I just live the way feels good and works for me.

    HELP!....HAIR LOSS !

I drink 4 shakes a day and have done since about 3 months out as well as all the Protein I take from food it didn’t stop or slow down hair loss. I was also a very rapid weight loss person. I wish I did know a trick to stop it as its taken so long to get my hair back and its not even all back to date. I keep my protein up I take my Vitamins and I take Biotin but its just a fact it comes out the steps we take are to help what grows back in grow in faster and healthier. Some people are lucky or have so much hair its not as noticeable but we all lose hair if you didn’t have the op and went on a extended crash diet the same thing would happen it’s a side effect of rapid weight loss.
  11. i can eat steak fine thoug 1 steak is about 4-5 portions now not just one more bang for your buck! lol
  12. How funny watching 70 tones and almost dead on tv right now and the surgeon doing the op is my surgeon! If anyone in the uk is watching that’s who did me that’s the team I went with lol
  13. The people around me were my support system but they had no clue about the op as in if I had a pain or concern about it they were clueless they only knew what I told them no one read up on it. So I got support with like making me Soup and bringing me things my mum jabbed me in the arm with my anti coagulant every morning and i got to talk about things if I wanted. Mostly I supported myself from what I had read before the op, what I read after coming here and reading helped and answered a lot of things. My hospital with my team if i had questions or felt pain or worried and my GP. But I pretty much kept most things to myself and got on with it, being asked every day how you are over and over gets old and annoying after a couple of weeks lol

    Liquid meds...

My liquid meds were not sweet infact they were completely B vit loaded tasted like a mix of raw meat blood and iron! Gross beyond thinking about first time I took them I was ok as I never knew the taste soon as I swallowed I was like holy crap!! Then I just couldn’t bring myself to do it my mum had put the 12 drops in my mouth and I would just sit there holding it I could not bring myself to swallow it! I switched them out for orange kids ones the chewable chalky kind I just sucked on. If you can switch them out go for it!
  15. Gotta say it that looks like a bottle of pee hehehehehe
  16. I don’t crave per say but I remember and if others are eating things like rice etc I do think oh mannnnn But I was a major rice junkie pre op anyway so yes I miss rice but I don’t crave it. I miss eggs a nice boiled egg with soldiers mmm yummy! But yeah I don’t wake up in a cold sweat jonesing for it.
  17. Oh you can make up a like Chinese Soup lots of ginger garlic and just drink the broth that will all be in the broth anyway. Then with the veg and chicken if you make it up with that sections off pules up if you want or just section up and freeze for after the op and your later stages in food.

how do I cook for me and my son

I cook big batch pretty much 99% of the time portion it off and freeze in bags so I can just pull out a bag to defrost and heat up and eat. The actual act of batching takes some time of course but once its all done and n the freezer reheating depending on how you do it (I do not like microwaves so I heat in the oven or stove top) takes a couple of mins to 30mins. Things I do lasagne filling so all I have to do is add cheese sauce and Pasta sheets (I don’t eat the pasta but others do) Ratatouille I make sausage ratatouille or chicken the most recent batch I added quinoa to it as well. Coconut chicken and veg curry. A lentil bean and spinach curry. Chicken casserole. That turkey veggie quinoa meatloaf muffin mix (new fav love that so much!) This chicken stripe thing with some oriental favours you eat with lettuce. Soups, we make different kinds of soup a lot and batch it off and freeze it. Then for us we get a couple of trays of chicken breast strip them off bag them up so we can pull a bag out and do like fajita wraps or stir fry easily just cuts right down on prep time to pre do it all. That’s what I do and its helps a lot there is always something in the freezer to pull out just decide the night before pull out a bag and know that’s for dinner the next day top up things as you need it again batching and your good.
  21. Add loads of garlic and ginger to your diet they are natural immune system boosters
  22. I wasn;t required to lose weight but I was required to do the liver shrinking its important ot do it. When I had my gall bladder op years ago they do the same thing and pull back the liver to get at it mine tore and had to be fixed and its difficult to do. Its also heavy and in the way if its big so the smaller and softer it is the better for holding it back out of the way undamaged. You don’t have to do the all milk etc if you don’t want to but cut out sugars and cabs so it uses whats stored in it that will shrink it and soften it up before the op.

  25. I’m a never hungry forget to eat all the time person. But trust me you will know when your full! For me STOP NOW is like a wave of clammy cold tightening breathing picks up sometimes my mouth waters like its getting ready to puke and you feel that tight feeling just below your breast bone. When you first start eating food thankfully your so ugh feeling you don’t shovel food in so you eat slow and will tell your full signs pretty early on. Once you get in the habit of eating slow you know the signs before they kick into overload, plus you will see visually how much it is and get used to it. Of course denser food fills quicker but you will work that out too. Not gonna lie your gonna puke it happens to everyone be it because we drank too soon or ate too much we all do it its just part of the learning curve but it gets easier in no time.
