Help! Complications Could Cause Me To Have Bypass!
sassypants replied to TiredOfChubRub's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I may not understand completely exactly what your dealing with but 5 weeks out was tough for me including soup I was getting about 15-20oz total a day for everything. Food never stayed in me I puked all food up pretty much so I just went back to soups and even then I started puking that up too. In fluid today I do like 25-30oz a day now this includes ice poles I am 3 and half months out and eat total in the whole day about 5oz of food if I am lucky. It got to the point I did get mad and kicked off at them that’s when they told me to go back a couple of stages and cut down how much I tried to eat the standard 40z thing half a cup was too much for me, its still too much for me now I only eat 1oz portions and drinking 4 or 5 mouthfuls and I have to wait about 20mins mins or up it comes again. They were gonna check me for scare tissue but when I cut back on portion size and stopped trying to drink so much I puke way less not completely never again half a teaspoon more than I should and blugh up it all comes but its easier not trying to be the standard this is what you do at this stage cookie cutter info and tailor it to my own personal needs. I do what I can manage if I can’t increase my intake in 3 months to 4oz at a sitting they will check for scare tissue. I just personally don’t see how moving your intestines will fix the issues with your stomach they can’t reopen your stomach put it back then do the bypass you don’t have the rest of your stomach to do that with. Going bypass to sleeve is easy because you keep the rest of your stomach in bypass its just closed off so they can convert. I’m not a medical doctor just going by what I know of the 2 ops and my own personal experience of having a hard time drinking and eating, so I am wondering how this is meant to help you eat and drink when all it will do is make you absorb even less of what you can barely take in right now. Like are they thinking if they do the intestine move you will loose more weight so that’s the end result they are happy with? Or do they honestly think it will make you eat and drink more? -
How Would You Respond?
sassypants replied to BigGirlVee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

But I am also one of the people who pretty much told everyone or anyone who asks hell I tell people who don’t even ask and fill them in on all the details puking and all lol -
Help! Complications Could Cause Me To Have Bypass!
sassypants replied to TiredOfChubRub's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don’t; get why you would have bypass the only thing they can do from the bypass is move your intestines that doesn’t solve your stomach issue. Btw you can take the full 8 weeks or more to heal that’s why they say 6-8 weeks for internal healing some people heal slower so if you’re a 8 weeks or longer person your going to be sore and swollen for more than 8 weeks. To me its jumping the gun I was swollen still past 8 weeks, even the small amount fo food I eat in one sitting I can see my stomach stick out like I binge ate and stuffed myself with buckets of chicken and pizzas its kinda funny considering its just 1oz of food nothing at all crazy but it sticks out when its full! I think we also worry and over stress about everything in the early stages so the tight full feeling from being swollen turns into oh my god it went wrong its too small I have a leak I will never be able to eat/drink more I did such a bad thing to myself fix me fix me!!! Your doctor should have told you to maybe cut back n portion size and wait a few more weeks for the swelling to go down. I had to backtrack to the soft stages and work my way forward again because when I hit solids it was ridicules and I just puked all the time. -

I Cannot Get Myself To Drink Protien Anymore, Is This Harmful... 6 Weeks Out
sassypants replied to Trici's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I don’t like shakes either so I use minimal amount of liquid I do 150ml of milk/hazelnut milk to my 2 scoops of powder so it’s a thicker shake but not so much of it. I also have some ready to drinks that are 40g or protein a bottle and drink one of them over the whole day if I just can’t be bothered to do another shake that day. -
Super Small Amounts Of Food?
sassypants replied to Scully's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am at the end of my 15th week out Tuesday is week 16 so 3 and half months this is my typical day:- half a cup of tea 5 teaspoons of cheerios and milk half a cup of tea half a cup of water/juice 2 ice poles 3-4 teaspoons of chicken maybe with some sort of mushed veg or sauce (typically I will finely dice mushrooms and chop up broccoli so its sorta pulp cooks in with the sauce) half a cup of tea half a cup of water/juice the same food as before in the same amount 150ml of shake which is 35g Protein half a cup of tea 1inch of cheese 2 ice poles half a cup of tea. That’s it food will change to like bean and cheese or steak or turkey chilli or fish but that’s the amounts I can eat in one sitting it roughly 1oz -1and half ounces of food at a time and takes me between 30mins-1 hour and 15mins to eat depending on the density of the food. -
How Do U Cope With Loose Skin?!
sassypants replied to KikiCC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My answer isn’t what you’re hoping for but I do it lol I flap it a lot lol I find it fascinating and funny and use it to amuse myself from time to time I know this makes me odd lol I will stand in panties and a bra and do a chicken flap dance at my sister, mum and best friend just to make my first inner thigh skin flap about then inner thigh and bingo wings now I do a shuffle chicken dance to make all the above plus belly jiggle! For my little sister I do also say it’s coming to get youuuuuu hehe I feel it a lot too like pull on my upper arm skin etc to see how springy it is and how much I have to grab now. I have noticed my skin will start to shrink up then I drop more weight and its back to extra skin and flapping. As for fixing it belly I do nothing no crunches or anything, arms I do weights and I swim for a over all thing alternating between breast stroke to firm up back arm boobs and legs and just on my back only using my legs to do the length for just my legs. I also use palmers cocoa butter with vitamin e as normal as my moisturizer. -
So Upset! May Have To Re-Do The Surgery!
sassypants replied to Believer's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
No your fine don’t worry. I don’t mind what anyone calls it from stomach-pouch-sleeve-steve its not my issue anyone is free to call it what they want we on this forum all know what we are on about. Going back to my post and the didn;t my mother ever say if everyone blah blah I was picked at for using the term pouch like I was a moron who didn’t know what surgery I had so I replied. My consultant calls it a pouch I call it a pouch people call it a pouch its part of the stomach but its not a stomach as a stomach is know it’s a man made pouch of what is left of one so I call it as I will and won’t be picky with people for what they call it -

sassypants replied to Believer's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Because it really matters if I say pouch/stomach/sausage sack/food sack people say pouch all the time it’s not the original stomach and a easier way of defining between what we used to have and what we have now. So give me a break! -
Surgery May Be Postponed Because Iron Is Too Low
sassypants replied to SkinnyMinnie2Be's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You guys get odd reasons for no op! All my levels for everything were low its crazy its part of why I was allowed the op my ibs was crazy on my body. You should drink a can/pint of guinness a day I mean its kinda gross it taste like what it is iron rich its like licking batteries but it will shoot your iron up a lot better than pills. Even pregnant woman drink it to boost iron levels. Oddly latest blood work showed I had high levels of iron like too much now and I stopped taking all my original vitamins and only take a multi vitamin every day everything else bar protein levels are normal. -
How Many Times Did You Make Yourself Sick....
sassypants replied to Curvy Girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wasn’t ever sick from eating too fast I was however sick a billion times from trying to eat too much till I just give up trying to eat 4oz and just did 1oz when the doc finally listened to me on the constant puking and said ok stop trying to eat 4oz it got a lot better. I was actually sick today lol I did 1 teaspoon too many of beans and cheese and the whole lot come up. It’s really tricky to get the hang of to start with especially if they are telling you to eat 4 times more than you can fit in your stomach! -
Is Sleeve Success Possible Without Exercise?
sassypants replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah I have honestly not been shy ever not at 425lbs or less like I don’t hang at the beach in a string bikini but I never hide away or was shy about myself I am 6ft tall and was about 6ft wide it was hard to miss or hide so F it lol So with the incredible shrinking woman thing going from one month to the next I look smaller so its like in my mind I think by the end of it I will be completely different so who cares if you see me in the flappy stages lol He reason I go to the ladies only night is men are typically more aggressive swimmers been going to the same pool off and on for years and they are mostly stronger swimmers, to start I didn’t want to get hit or kicked by a passing swimmer and my mum and sis in law are weak swimmers so on ladies night only half the pool is used for swimming about 8 of us seem to use that half of the pool to swim each week the other half is about 30 woman doing aqua aerobics. So your in your own lanes and don’t have to deal with sharing lanes with other people who overtake you or swim up right behind you. -
So Upset! May Have To Re-Do The Surgery!
sassypants replied to Believer's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
i know its disappointing but you might have been one of the people who had a bigger stomach size going into the op they still follow the same line and still cut away the same amount but if you happen to be one of the people with a bigger stomach to begin with then you pouch is bigger. Instead of a 3-4oz holding pouch it can be up to 10oz this doesn’t mean you should eat 10oz every meal and snack time it makes drinking easier but you can try tricking your stomach, drink right till 15mins before food then take your time to eat 4oz 30mins or so wait 30mins then drink drink drink hopefully the water will fill you up and trick you into thinking your full see if that works for you. If you can manage the diet side that way then maybe you won’t need a re do and you will get used t eating the smaller amount and drinking more. You need to find out how big your pouch is exactly they should know they did it they should know if you have a bigger one than standard and by how much to help you control food and how much you eat and drink you might even be able to change how many times you eat maybe smaller portions 6 times a day would be better for you than big meals. A redo shouldn’t be top of the list when you need info on whats already been done and ways to work with it not just standard do this or that which everyone is told. -

I go on a ladies night well me my mum sister and sister in law they all go with me now to get fit lol Its ladies only you wear what you want its also the night when they do Water aerobics so pretty much its all big woman the skinny ones go to the gym its amusing to see! I go in my swimsuit no shame flappy thigh skin on show and all I don’t care lol Maybe you can find something like that where its ladies only and they let you wear stuff to cover up. Here they will allow t-shirts and leggings plus swimsuits all the time for ladies because of religious reasons and showing skin. -

sassypants replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks hun that’s nice of you! We just have to adjust things to fit us and our needs 10mins of something is still something 10mins a couple of times a day is more than I know I ever did every little helps in my book and you just try and see what works for you. You don’t even have to buy weights you can use bags of flour or tins or pots you know stuff that has weight to it that you can use, I happened to buy the set of hand weights about 2 years ago so I had them to use now lol -
Mine started coming out like 2 weeks ago. It was already falling out pre op due to my ibs and my not being able to absorb hardly any vitamins and stuff but it stopped for a while and I was happy now back to shedding like a s.o.b! When I wash my hair a handful comes out when I brush it the brush if full of hair, I am used to my hair falling out so its not like I freaked out just thought oh here we go again boo! I’ve never taken anything for it. i am a may sleever too!

Is Sleeve Success Possible Without Exercise?
sassypants replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do very little one of the reasons they agreed to me having the sleeve and not the bypass (which I didn’t want) was because of my back and knee issues, my doctor said its better to have the sleeve if you have mobility problems its not such a drastic op as in after the bypass has a lot more going on with the intestines move so sleeve is better if you can’t be hitting the gym. My first instructions were just to walk around my house as much as I could without hurting myself. Then after 8 weeks I was cleared to go swimming once a week, which I do and I have just been re refereed to physiotherapy again to work on my back, right leg and knee the left knee is fine now so that helps lol I am allowed to lift my 2.5kg hand weights which I do every day for my arms as long as I don’t strain myself or over do it, I do 50 arm curls that’s it I am not allowed to do anything else. I seem to be doing fine not stalled once (well I don’t weigh myself anyway to know if I did for a week or whatever lol ) always lost weight when the hospital or gps weigh me once a month, 106lbs down at my last weigh in. I did look up chair exercises but I aint allowed to do things yet till physio says coz my right leg keeps locking and I can hardly move it so I have to wait but you could google see if there is any that works for you. -
48 Pounds Lost And I Am The Only One Who Notices?
sassypants replied to Lucabelle1313's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If people see you every day its not as easy to notice one day they will take a look at you and go oh you lost a lot of weight! It’s like when your putting weight on no one notices till one day your 50-100lbs bigger than you were. It’s also considered rude to ask a person if they gained or lost weight. Another thing you might find about family and friends if you yo yo diet and go through stages where your on a diet and loose up to 50lbs than stall then slowly put it back on and do this over and over they might not say anything incase its one of them yo yo diets again and no point saying anything coz you will just put it back on again. More people may say things when you keep on getting smaller and not putting weight back on. -
I have a love of them too! Saves me buying new pants and when they fall down I just pull them tighter to keep them up lol
