How to prevent saggy breasts and skin after weightloss?
sassypants replied to SleevesUp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was using cocoa butter till a friend in the know told me no no sassy that's completely wrong try orange or lemon oil and maybe mix with a almond oil. which I did as I could only find high concentrate citrus oil which isn't good for directly applying to the skin so the almond oil is the base oil you mix with the citrus. if I recall you can use a linseed oil as a base too but I like the almond combo it smells really nice. I actually got a couple of plastic sauce bottles off amazon mixed them together and that was my body oil so I didn;t have to mix in a bowl or anything every time just shake it up and pour into my hands and work all over. -
So, should I be 'disappointed', 'flattered' or 'indifferent'?
sassypants replied to Madam Reverie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my face seemed to be the last ting that would drop in weight every time. so for the longest time I still looked the same from the neck up never really noticed the difference as I personally don't own a full length mirror lol to look at myself fully I have to go to my sister. every now and again I noticed the face but it honestly took over a year and looking back over that year to be like oh that's different! now that being said I am in total 222lbs smaller to date and I get less attention now than I did at 350lbs or 380lbs 400lbs and 425lbs it was interesting and very very odd. not shy never have been used to attention when I go out so to be in a group on a night out and completely overlooked the whole time (not that I am looking but you know um hello!) is like what the hell?!?! I say as a joke but really do mean it "oh I am just another skinny girl now and I don't even have massive boobs any more!" its drummed into us on all fronts skinny is better/beautiful/what everyone wants/looking for, so when you become "skinny" and your not (or don't feel like one anyway 24/7) a supermodel with everyone saying wow and falling at your feet its like your robbed a little. don't think I had my butterfly moment either always had sharp features they just got lost when I went over 380lbs. -
How to prevent saggy breasts and skin after weightloss?
sassypants replied to SleevesUp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
just wanted to point out coconut oil is actually not a good idea to put on your skin as that's used in a aide to aide elasticity like if your pregnant you use it to help your skin be supple and stretch easier its not a good tightener at all. try a citrus oil instead. -
Drinking water after operation
sassypants replied to joydenstar's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After the op your taste buds change I am one of the people who went sensitive to salt to everything is super sweet! Something they don’t tell you about but my doc giggled at when asking me if it happened yet. Your mouth feels like crap everything taste like crap it’s a combination of the op meds and the ketoses thing going on. No amount of brushing my teeth and mouth wash felt like it made a difference so after 2 weeks of mouth crap I couldn’t take it any more and took a mouthful of cold coke swilled it around and spat it out. The bubbles just felt like they were waking up my mouth like a shock of oh hello this is not same old same old crap hello mouth!! It goes away but it is ugh at the time. -
i think my sleeve is making me hate my spouse
sassypants replied to abarta83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i'm not married but i don;t think its fair to him to hold him to anything he said and be mad at him. he was supporting you and encouraging you which is what you wanted before the op to help with the fears you were thinking at the time. now well life is different he is still him if he never did it before its pretty likely he really wasn;t going to do it or keep on doing it for very long after the op. to be blunt if he was a lazy unhealthy person before hes not changed he just had good intention that hes too lazy to be bothered with now. thats not to say hes trying to sabotage you in any way- unless he is? he's being his normal every day self the man you have known and been with for years who has no problem with you changing if you want to, so why change him to suit yourself and your needs now if he doesn;t want too? we all do need support but one person shouldn;t be all of it or the reason you do anything. don;t resent him or anyone else in your life for not making change just because you did. -
Depressed after losing weight?
sassypants replied to Jouselle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
the head F stage! for alot of us being big- really big- was a whole life thing it was for me from about 6 years old just steadily gained weight no amount of diets help i was even admitted to a childrens ward for 3 months on a strict diet to lose weight- i didn;t. had 3 years of constant diet checks twice a week and nadda. so whole life never been small at any point then suddeny i am getitng smaller WTF! you dont know you as smaller, you don;t know the life smaller you will have- how you will be, look, feel, how people will treat you etc so its a total mind F. seeing your body smaller is enough on its own to send you in that oh my god frame of mind but just as you get used to that size oh look i am smaller again lost more weight and it all starts again. it is so much to deal with on top of the standard working out eating working out getting meds in this on top is like mental and emotional overload, your brain and senses just can;t take it all in and porcess it fast enough. you are always beind for the longest time trying to catchup mentally to how you are physclly as time goes on and the weightloss slows down you do begin to catch up its not as fast and drastic so you have time to process it all and when you do lose weight you look all over you to wonder where but in a good way not a shock hit you in the face way. if you need ot talk to someone- and so many of us do!- then seek advice and talk it all out. for me i was scared deeply scared of what life would become thats my fear that i had to deal with and i did thankfully! but we ARE allowed to feel these things its a major major shock to the system its frigging hard work to go through daily and we all have to porcess and deal with whats happening in our own way even if its to cry and be mad and voice regrets that maybe it wasn;t such a good idea. maybe it would help you to keep a little notebook and write it all down at the time no one has to read it, it migt just help to get whats whizzing around in your head out even to just yourself. -

When Does The Non Stop Burping Stop
sassypants replied to jasleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
almost 2 years out and mine hasn;t stopped or slowed down lol i dont use a straw or cpap and i am nasal breather not a mouth breather. i always was a burper rather than a farter its just a hell of alot more now and i always say better this end than the other. but honestly its kinda amusing when your getting down and dirty take a drink of Water and have to stop kissing or what not because your burping LOL and yes 100% true do it alllllllllllll the time lol -
this is one of the you had surgery signs! your still healing bruised and swollen food or drink other than a sip or 3 is like you poking a external wound over and over- its gonna hurt. when you drink your making your stomach do work while its healing its full its breaking it down its producing stomach juices etc its like ahhh man leave me i am sore and sick *cough and protesting

you should speak to your team and fully work out exactly what your putting into your body and what your burning up. if your putting in too much and doing too little your wont burn it off and lose weight. how this works is pretty much low calorie to use the stored fat as backup to burn off thats why we lose weight if your putting in enough for your body to run off of having alot of carbs etc your gonna burn it first or store it.

i was never told to stop smoking before my op the anaesthetist had a massive go at me 3 hours before my op though lol the day after my op i asked my doc about it and he said one thing at a time just get on with this and recovering and if i feel i am ready to give up smoking then we can talk about that and any help i need. needless to say i still smoke to this day! had i been told to give up or else and stopped for a month or so i wouldn;t of taken it up again sometimes i wish i had that kick up the butt to do it because i am one mean s.o.b when i try and give up and had horrible reactions to several replacement products.

Anyone lose weight w/out exercise?
sassypants replied to Scorpion11's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I wasn;t allowed to work out for the first 8 months due to lower back lose hip knee problems and a couple of other reasons I was having some treatment for stuff so couldn't; even go swimming till I had recovered. I pretty much stayed in my house other than going to hospital for them months I didn;t even walk up and down my stairs much. I never did work out much even when I could I am very bad at that lol I started off swimming once a week for about a hour I would be done when I started feeling the pull ache and tiredness of my abdomen. a couple of months of that I added in going to the gym 2 nights a week for 30mins of mostly weight training very little cardio. can't use certain machines due to the back hip and knees. I slacked right off mid nov and didn't go at all for dec or jan and so far not feb either. total lazy butt here! I also don't calorie count don't weigh myself don't weigh food out don't obsess or stress out about any of it never have. -
thank you all I am over the omg mind F from it all and I am thinking hmmm the next family event will be interesting if I am even smaller lol

sassypants replied to Wires's topic in The Gals' Room
the guy i have been seeing on and off for the past 5 years is hot handsome works out total package even if i do say so myself lol but no really everyone thinks hes lovely, hes been with me from 350lbs up to 425lbs and now throughout till i am now just over 200lbs now he thinks i have no clue how i look and he is not good enough for me any more that i can have anyone i want and some day soon i will realise this and off i go. he is constantly on a diet and goes to the gym, let me tell you this man is not fat at all hes muscluar and soild and not even a big soild but my change is size has triggered his insecruites about himself. i never felt insecure around him at any point its a bit of a curve ball to have this lovely guy who could get anyone he wanted feel insecure and not good enough for me now. -
Full Liquids the "Easy Way"
sassypants replied to MadB's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
in the £1/$1 shop/store baby food containers are the perfect size for what we need at the early stages. I made a bunch of stuff filled these little thing and then wrote on a bag what they were put the bags of little pots in the freeze you could be golden for about 2 months with just 1 day of cooking! -
Can i stretch my stomach from throwing up?
sassypants replied to OHHLALA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you wont no I still throw up now almost 2 years out you might be like me and have a small sleeve then its more common to fill it and then flick the switch and puke. I've never damaged myself had a few worries in the first 6 months I did but nope its just painful and unpleasant. any worries you have just ring them if they are concerned they will tell you to go in. -
make your own! you know whats in it much more flavour not a load of salt and other additives plus the veg and meat you use to boil up for the soup broth you can blend up section off and freeze for the later stages in your diet. that's what I did bar tomato soup that I got from a can lol if anyone reading has no idea how to make a soup or broth/stock for soup its pretty easy put a whole chicken in a pot of Water add onions leaks you can add vegetable stock cubes/granules for extra flavour bring to boil then simmer for at least a hour. strain off the liquid that's your chicken stock/broth. if your going on to make soup you put the stock back in the pot strip the meat off the bone take all the skin and crap out put the meat back in add whatever veg you want put the leaks and onion back in add more and simmer that for another 45mins or so to cook all the veg. you can serve as is or blend it all up for a pureed soup done!

i was prescribe effervescent ones mixed it in a shot glass of water and sipped it

you firstly clear out and get diarrhea because your not eating any kind of solid food its liquid in liquid out then you change to more solid food and then fully solid food and your bodies way of handling this is to back you up and make you constipated.

Starting to feel some slight depression....(Pity Party)
sassypants replied to BabySheldon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
its funny the stages you go through the whole clear out non stop going to the loo is like what the hell but we all do it plus all we are taking in is liquid so there isn;t anything solid to pass at the early stages! then it stops you start to eat more solid food and get ready to say hello to constipation- which can be really ugly so be warned and take something to help that I speak form my own very very ugly ordeal prune juice daily become my friend! if you can only handle a few spoonfuls or sips of soup do what I did make a thermos of it and have it with you take a few sips whenever you can by days end you will be done and had it all its less overwhelming like that than measuring it out and thinking ok this has to allll go in right now! and you not being able too. if its 2 small mouthfuls every 20mins then so be it go at your own pace and what works for you. if you read up I just posted about the Protein Shakes honestly I didn't even start to have them till about 6 weeks out what I did was sip on protein shots which is a kinda juice version of them I got in a health food shop and I diluted them with warm Water to not be as thick and warm water because I couldn;t tolerate room temp or cold water. Vitamins let me tell you them nasty liquid ones your sent home with (well I was) made me wanna puke and i was meant to take 12 drops a day I switched to kids multi vits you chewed not jellies but the powder pill kind and just sucked on them instead. a lot of people have B vit problems and will get shots in the early stages well still throughout I take pills personally as I get B boosts in things I eat or drink like the hazelnut milk I used for my shakes has B vits in it. down the line lack of other vitamins also doesn;t help with energy like D and Iron you should be getting regular blood tests for your levels via the hospital or doctors every time you see them to make sure your levels are ok and if not they give you boosters for whats low. -
Starting to feel some slight depression....(Pity Party)
sassypants replied to BabySheldon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
ok here goes lol in may I will be 2 years out and had a lot of problems still have some but it gets easier so my list water nausea lots of puking lactose intolerance sensitive sleeve small sleeve the whole taste bud change from sensitive to salt to everything tasting super sweet. had to go back to the broth stage and work forward again as by you should be on solid food now stage I was having a lot of issues with bad pain and puking from still being swollen and a small sleeve. still to this day I dought I drink 64oz of water seeing as I barely drink water at all I know its not happening I drink tea and protein shakes so maybe but yeah I don't drink 6oz of water on top of everything else never have! you are still in such a early stage of being out from the op your gonna get all the crap feelings and issues and what the hell did I do this is not normal things. it just takes time don't rush it don't try to eat a burger 4 weeks out! with my protein shakes I use hazelnut milk from alpro its not soy not cows milk so no lactose an dairy free. all the samples of protein shake I tired before the op were disgusting to me after as they seemed sooooo sweet I had to start again finding one that was ok to my taste buds and really good quality luckily I did but I spent hours looking and must have sampled over 40 in different flavours. you will be tired I posted this in other threads but you will your recovering from a op on next to no food to help you heal your body uses all it can to heal so it wipes you out for the longest time after its normal to go through this. the fluids thing anything liquid is a fluid you don't have to try and chug water if your like me and can't tolerate room temp or cold drinks have warm or hot ones like decaf unsweetened tea the liquid stages of your diet is fluid intake it all contains water as long as your not dehydrated and get enough fluid in all forms you will be ok. most of it gets easier you learn what you can do what your body is ok with what a little of is ok but not too much etc it honestly does get easier with time its just a major head F to get there at times and you do question what you did because you feel so rough and have pain and everything else that goes with this. it will get better and your not alone with how you feel.
