    Its Time!

Good luck! Just remember to get up and walk! (:
  2. Sounds like a good one to use...I was instructed to get at least 60 grams of protein a day, 30 grams protein max per serving and no more than 5 grams of sugar per serving...

    First Day Of Liquids!

I felt faint quite a few times...I was diabetic...my doctor had me drink 2 oz of Boost High Protein shake to eliminate the hypoglycemic reaction to the low sugar diet. Hope this helps!

    First Day Of Liquids!

Yes, sugar-free popsicles are on the pre-op diet! I went through 1 1/2 big boxes! I also chewed sugar-free gum. This helped a lot!

    Cooking Smaller Amounts..?

Go ahead and make your normal portions and then freeze them, if able, in small serving sizes for you and larger sizes for other family members. I have purchased small, freezer safe containers that are used for new babies. These are the perfect size for small portions.
  6. Hang in there...it will get easier as time goes by. Maybe you could try to replace your old 'comfort' ways with new ones, like crocheting or knitting, scrapbooking, volunteering at a shelter...I know how hard it is to work in a stressful environment, only to come home to more stress...I guess that is when you need to go to your 'happy' place...This site seems to be great for morale support and I encourage you to keep posting and I will try to give you a hand! I am only one week post-op and so far so good...Prayers!
  7. Good luck! I am 1 week post-op sleeve and I am doing great! I spent 3 days in the hospital and it went pretty smooth. Wishing you all the luck with your new life and new body! (:
  8. 3 Days Post-Op...Slow but sure!

    Unflavored Protien Powder

The unjury brand of plain Protein powder is great. It doesn't chunk up. I use one of those mix bottles with the metal ball inside. You can't tell that the powder is in the drink at all.

Anyone Care To Share A Pre Op Liquid Diet

My doctor has me on the same diet. I have had no 'real' food to chew in 12 days! My day consists of 2-3 Protein Shakes @ 11 oz each and chicken broth with unjury Protein powder added. I also enjoy the sugar free popsicles and Jello. I had to do this a full 2 weeks. Two more days until my surgery!
  12. Day 13 of my two week all liquid diet. I am almost there! Monday is the big day! Starting to get a little more nervous now with the anticipation of surgery. I'm down 13 pounds and looking forward to losing all the rest! (:

  13. Congrats on your 7 pounds! I also had my pre-op today. This was my 10th day on the liquid diet. And I am right there with you, I am hungry! My surgery is Monday and it can't come fast enough either!

    Ugh...bras!

Hi! Try the Ahhh bras. They give pretty good support, even for larger breasts and are so comfortable.
  15. Most health food stores carry it, but, I ordered mine on-line and had it delivered to my home. They have a variety of products available and even have recipe ideas for their Proteins.
  16. Good luck and God speed to you as well!
  17. The Premier shakes only come in the two flavors where I live. Both are equally good! Sometimes I am in the mood for vanilla and other times I like the chocolate. I usually try to schedule the vanilla for breakfast and the chocolate for lunch. I then have the chicken broth with the Unjury protein for dinner.
  18. I have been drinking the Premier brand Protein shakes from Sam's Club. They come in vanilla and chocolate, 30 grams of protein and only 1 gram of sugar. They taste very sweet and are great! I am also drinking Campbell's chicken broth with a 1/2 scoop chicken flavored unjury Protein powder. Unjury chicken protein powder is delicious! I also have sugar free popsicles, Fruit 2 O waters and sugar free Jello. I just keep drinking the sugar free flavored waters if I still feel cravings. After the first 3 days it seemed to get easier. I am on day 9 and I feel pretty good and I'm down 11 pounds!

    Just Doing It !

Good luck on your journey! Try to keep positive, even if the surgery date is not as soon as you would like. It will all be worth the wait! I started my journey in March of this year and my surgery is this Monday. Keep us posted on your progress!

    Tomorrows My Day!

Good luck! It will all be OK...just breathe...(:
  21. Hi! I started my liquid diet on July 9. My starting weight was 209 and I am 5' 3". My surgery is on the 23rd. When is yours?
  22. I told my son, who is 31 and my daughter, who is 34...neither of which seemed very concerned. They both live in 'me' worlds and really have no time for me and my problems. My husband has been my main supporter. He tries to understand, but, can't seem to stop bringing junk food into the house! LOL It is easy for me to resist right now because I want to have my surgery!
  23. Congrats on your surgery! Thank you so much for posting your experience! I, too, have had 2 c-sections plus I have had an appendectomy and a hysterectomy. My surgery is next week. I hope I do as well as you!!!
  24. At first, I told my family I was starting the process of having the surgery...their reaction was not supportive at all. Crappy comments mostly...Even had one in-law snidely say "Well, don't think your body will look like it did when you were 20..." My surgery is scheduled for the 23rd and I have only told 4 people. I find that most people do not understand being overweight, nor being overweight with health issues. I say, if you want to tell everyone, go ahead. If you want to keep it between you and your hubby, go ahead. This website seems to offer a lot of support. We are all in this together!
