The Android App Doesn't Like Me
lynneo replied to BKMama's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
I am not able to post on my nook tablet, either. never. Can anyone help me? (P. S. I'm on the BIG computer now......) :-P -
Are you on soft/pureed foods yet? Bariatric Choice has some yummy puddings that have lots of Proteins. 5 grams per day is not going to cut it!
-
If you have a Publix grocery nearby, they also carry the shirataki (soy) noodles in the produce section. They are good, though not as tasty as pasta!!! :-D Try them with some lean, cooked chicken & chicken broth and maybe celery and carrots to make a great chicken noodle soup when the weather gets cold!

First Trip To Grocery Store 5D Post
lynneo replied to Philly Yum's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The Ocean Spray sugar free stuff is great! It even smells like real juice (it doesn't taste like it exactly, though). The crystal lights are very good, too. You know they have a margarita flavor, don't you. Make a good slushy and sit on the porch and enjoy. No one has to know it has no liquor!!! Pretending is good sometimes! -
Power Crunch Protien Bars

They are over with the diet/protein stuff. And yes, they are good! -
My favorite gadget is my new NINJA blender. It is so easy to fill and to clean. I make all my protein shakes in it, and it really chews up the ice and frozen fruit. Best $40 I've spent in a long time!

Biotin alone will not do the trick...you have to have enough protein! Mine started falling out at 3 months post-op, too, and according to the doctor's nurse, that is pretty common. The best way to keep what you have is to be SURE to get a minimum of 64 grams of protein daily and take a biotin. My hair has pretty much stopped falling out (surgery was in March) and I think it is starting to thicken up again. I honestly don't think anything you do before surgery will be a long time solution. Hair, I can grow. Body, I am trying to shrink!

It hurts like he//. Your want for sushi will pass. You can eat a little later on. Rice is apparently difficult to digest.

Low blood pressure? Anemic? Are you also weak or just dizzy?

What Is Your Favorite?
lynneo replied to upwardfocusedgirl's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I enjoy not always being the fattest person in the room. It is nice to look at least close to normal!!! I'm only a little over half-way to my goal, but I am certainly enjoying the new life! -
The Stuff They Don't Tell You
lynneo replied to Parker's Dad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Speaking of taste changing--- I've gone from 4 cups of coffee per day to none. Just don't want it after doing without it before and immediately after surgery. Never thought I could live without it!! -
My NUT says to limit pasta--- limit it a lot. Apparently it does not provide much nutrition for the calories. Moderation would be the key, I think.

26 Days Out, Down 27Lbs, And At A Stall. Help!
lynneo replied to Aug2ndsleever's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Give yourself a break!! A pound a day, are you kidding me? Your body often stalls to give itself time to adjust to the new eating (or not eating). Just keep to your eating plan and your weight will start to drop again. -
I did not like it much. I know it is supposed to be fruity, but it still had the powdered taste to me. I really like the UNJURY protein drinks. Sometimes I put a no- or low- fat yogurt in it (like strawberry yogurt in the strawberry) and it makes it even better. Also it adds some more protein.

Just Wanted To Say To All Ya'll Vst'ers
lynneo replied to MGM's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It is indeed a wonderful thing to be able to groan, shout, laugh and cry with people who really understand what I am going through. Just knowing sometimes that what I am going through is "normal" for this "un-normal" (according to the rest of the world) situation. I really appreciate this site!!! -
Nsv! High School Desks
lynneo replied to traceyinflorida's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am a teacher, and we often have meetings in our classrooms. For years I have prayed for there to be an "unattached" chair somewhere in the room! Most of the time, that prayer bounced off the ceiling, and I had to painfully stuff my big self in the chairs. Had surgery in March, and this year when school started I just slid in............ It gets more wonderful each day!!! As a teacher, I keep a few "unattached" chairs in case I need them for visitors (or even students from time to time). -
An Nsv That Made Me Blush ;p
lynneo replied to Sassygirl06's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Here's my Wal-Mart story--- probably been going on for a few months, but I only realized it yesterday: I no longer have to head for the "handicapped" stall in the restroom. I can close and open the regular stall door easily without having to compress myself against the toilet!!! An unusual NSV!!! -
Basically I think you bought a bunch of crap you will not be able to eat. Corn, really? Have you read the sodium amounts on those "soup at hand" things? It is a day's worth in one serving. Atkins shakes are loaded with fat. I think much of this experience you are going through is an emotional response to wanting to hang on to control, at least in our minds, of our food. We want to be sure we will not starve to death or something..... Did you have nutritional counseling before surgery?

Teachers? Where Are The Teachers?
lynneo replied to ShouldBlittler's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I teach high school math at a private school in Georgia. When it got close to time for surgery (spring break '12) I told my students as I did not want them to hear it from someone else. Of course, previously I had told my principal, department head, and school president as well as my two best buddies at school. I was up front and honest with my students as to my reasons for this choice and thay were wonderfully supportive. I will be so glad for them all to see me getting healthy! -
Gastric Bypass And The Sleeve
lynneo replied to mmarie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My surgeon says that the sleeve is the only wls that is NOT reversable. I had mine Mar 13, 2012. I am very pleased with my choice.
