I agree it is wonderful. I really like the texture and they have many flavors. If you don't have a Kroger nearby, think Smith's-- they are owned by the same people and carry many of the same or similar products.

Unjury has a chicken broth protein thing. I have not tried it, but do use and love their other flavors. You may could call them (number on their web site) and ask for a free sample. They are very helpful folks.

I love my sleeve!!! The best thing is the lack of hunger. Just have to watch that grazing.......

If you cannot stick to the pre-op diet after changing Protein shakes and all--- give it up. You will find the post-op diet to be harder still. And yes, my doctor's NUT assured me that the doc had opened patients, saw the liver and knew they had not done the diet, closed them and sent them home. Do it if you are serious, no matter what it takes. Call the doctor's office and talk to someone. Surely you are not the first patient to have this trouble. Variety is the spice of life, so don't stick to just one kind of supplement.

Has any one found a good site that will TELL you an estimated or average cost of surgery. Most of them just say "the value cannot be measured in dollars...". I guess they are not talking about MY dollars!

You'll have lots of big pants really soon. Be patient about another week. My biggest problem now is finding pants that fit halfway decent and stay that way for a few weeks. I buy them too tight and wear them until they won't stay on. I need to invent some suspenders that are "flesh" colored (that's a joke right there) and go UNDER my shirts......

It seems that you are losing at a good rate--- people are all different and we lose at different rates. Glad you are so close to goal. Keep going, you will get there!

Sounds like you may need a new doctor......

Am I Crazy? My Taste And Sense Of Smell Has Changed...
lynneo replied to TracyLynn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep, it happened to me, too. Amazing. Some things that used to taste wonderful I cannot even imagine eating. Can't really say I have acquired a taste for anything new, though. No coffee anymore--- just don't want it. Don't know why.......... -
Has Any Had A Weird Looking Tattio After Your Weigh Loss..?

The one on my calf is smaller, one on ankle, not so much. I was surprised to see that they shrank at all. -
The Thing About Artificial Sweeteners......
lynneo replied to Joisey01's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Remember, those artificial sweeteners may be 300 to 600 times sweeter than sugar, but you only get a tiny, tiny bit of the sweeteners in a packet (or tube of Crys.lite, for that matter). The rest of the stuff in the splenda/whatever envelope is dextrose and some other non-sweet junk so it will flow smoothly.... -
Please, please, get your daughter some help--- whatever it takes. Do not, for an instant, assume it could "never" be drugs. Medical professionals have more access than most others.

I agree. You may not have to go all the way back to liquids, but portion control seems like a logical place to start. That and lots of Water. Oh, you so do not want to go backwards!!! Good luck to you. It will be work, for sure, but so worth it. Think of all you have gained by being normal sized!!!

Some drug stores have little 32 oz tubes that have mega-protein. I understand they are very sweet, but at least they are smaller quantity. You may want to get one and try that.

Way to go!!! Life is all about the little pleasures--- and we avoided so many of them just because we were "too big".

How Did You Know Surgery Was The Right Choice?
lynneo replied to mkb805's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I knew sugery was the right thing for me when I hit 308 at the doctor's office. I was so embarassed--- I guess like 297 was a "great" weight. I knew I could not continue to live like that----- knee pain, insulin-dependent diabetes, high blood pressure, couldn't get up off the floor without LOTS of effort, could hardly sit in a plane seat....... I was trying to decide between the lap-band and true by-pass. My doctor said my insurance had just started approving gastric sleeve, and that was it!!! Family was unsure---- but I pushed on and they all eventually got on board and supported me. I love it, I am glad I did it, and wish I had done it 10 years ago. I am living again. -
Most any grocery store carries at least some of the sugar-free Jello pudding mixes. Don't order a big bunch!!! They have butterscotch as well as the kinds already mentioned. Unjury makes an "unflavored" (kinda, sorta) that you can add to the mix before toss in your fat free milk and mixing it up. Start with one-half scoop for the whole 4 serving mix and then you will be adding 2 or 3 grams of protein to what you already have. If that is okay taste-wise, you can add one full scoop and see how that goes.

4 Weeks Out And 4 Glasses Of Wine Almost Killed Me!
lynneo replied to jennrus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow!! Lesson learned the hard way, huh? I am WAY to scared to do that at all!! Glad you are better. Be nice to yourself awhile-- like liquids, maybe. -
Congrats!!! I can hardly wait to be in Onederland!
-
That's " a good life waiting for you." Sorry!!!

I agree with these good folks. Educate yourself. Research the chances of actual death (as opposed to the cheap imitation kind) from the surgery. Honestly, the chances are very, very low. On the other hand, the chances are very, very high that you will be healthier, be able to really walk, play with your son, go to school for meetings without embarassing him (or yourself) etc, etc, etc. There's a good like waiting for you. Also, if you currently have high blood pressure or diabetes, chances are very good that those conditions will get lots better. I can tell you that my aching knees are much, much better, too. It feels so good to be able to walk like a regular person!!! That sounds silly, but you will see. I hope. Good luck! You are doing it for yourself and for your family, too.

Just be sure you are doing some comparison of the labels. I was taking the Centrum chewables (not really good tasting, but cheaper than those the doctor's office sells), but found out it would take 2 of the Centrum to equal the stuff in one Bariatric Advantage--- hence, no savings at all!!! Plus, one is better than two--- well, at least when it comes to eating a yucky tasting vitamin! Also I have read and heard (from NUT) that calcium citrate is prefered over calcium caltrate. Don't know the difference (if there even is one).

Had A Hiatal And Umbilical Hernia Done At The Same Time
lynneo replied to Randgalt's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have an umbilical hernia that needs to be repaired, but my surgeon said to wait until later. I do not know why.
