I did! I was sleeved on the 13th of sept. and all is going well! Thanks for asking! I know I probably shouldn't, but I pick up my kids all the time and don't notice a thing. I try to carry my 26lb boy less than my 20lb girl, but sometimes he just needs to be held. The kid thing has been the easiest part...now if I can just figure out the eating thing!

I was sleeved on the 13th and also often feel hungry. It's not in my head, my stomach actually yells at me and feels hollow. I try drinking water, but it doesn't help. Now I just try to get a few ounces of a shake in every hour or so. I think maybe it's because it's so small, it empties faster. I also think I don't take in enough at meal times because I am SOO afraid of overfilling it, I think I underfill it. A tip for the isopure: I found that if I brush my teeth right before I drink it, the after taste isn't so bad. Weird, I know! Also make sure it is super cold. Good luck!!

Thanks JerzyGirl, I am so hopeful that my experience is the same as yours. I am feeling better since I stopped the pain meds, but just keep thinking how much easier this would be if I could have an IV until my tummy heals! Sipping isn't too fun. But I'm sure in a few weeks I'll be smiling more!

Thanks everyone. I was able to get an anti-nausea pill down and now I can tell without the nausea overwhelming it that my stomach pains feel pretty mild. My husband looked up the pain meds he gave me (my husband is a doctor) and said they were the harshest for the stomach and that is probably why I was in pain, I hadn't really taken them before last night. So, hopefully I'll stop taking them and all will be better. Now, back to trying to learn how to sip, sip, sip when everything hurts a little going down, and nothing sounds good.

Yes, I take 2 Nexium each morning and night. I haven't been able to take them this morning because I feel like I am going to throw up when I even think about swallowing anything. I hope it gets better from here, I just think it's strange that it got better, than worse...

Yes. they did a leak test on day 3 and all looked good. That was my first fear, and honestly still is.

I had my surgery 4 days ago. Day 1 (Thursday) was horrible, so I am just going to skip over thinking about that! Day 2 (Friday) was quite a bit better, I was up walking around by myself, feeling pretty good. Day 3 (Saturday)I felt fantastic, I was released from the hospital, did a lot of walking, was able to sip okay. Day 4 (Sunday) I felt okay, maybe not quite as good as day 3, but hey, I didn't have any iv fluids to help hydration, so I figured all in all it was pretty good. DAY 5 (Today) Ugg. I didn't hardly sleep at all last night, even it was my first night back in my own bed. I woke up at 2:30am with all sorts of pain. my heart was beating fast, I was sweaty and shakey, and nauseated. I drank a little isopure (first protein drink i've had per surgery) and felt a little better, but when I tried to go back to bed I felt horrible again. Finally around 5:30am I fell asleep for about an hour in our recliner until my kids got up for school at 6:30. Have any of you experienced this, going from feeling pretty good, to feeling pretty bad? I take 2 nexium before bed for heartburn, I've been really good about gas-x, and I'm on an antibiotic. I just think it's strange that it's getting worse...is it??

I am in a similar situation, I have 4 kids, my youngest is 13 months. I just made some simple preparations, like making sure I had diapers up and down stairs, I also have a 2 year old, so I mad him a little set of steps to his crib and have been teaching him to get in and out using those. I am getting sleeved in 2 days and hope I have prepared enough for that area of life! My surgeon also allows up to 20lbs lifted. My 13 month old is 20.4lbs, so I am just going to be extra careful and rest whenever I can. Good luck to you in whatever you choose!

My husband made some Miso soup and it was pretty good...super salty, but okay. I'm headed to Mexico (no insurance coverage for WLS). How about you? -
Pre-Op / Post-Op Liquid Diet?

We have the same surgery date! I just started Liquid today. I find the Isopure clear flavored protein drinks to taste okay, so I am drinking those and it really seems to help the hunger. I am going to the store for broth, egg drop soup mix (if it looks nutritionally okay) and SF jello. Good luck on Thurdsay! -
Yay! Congratulations on overcoming what I would assume is the hardest part. Sorry about the nausea, that is actually one of the things I am the most scared about!

I did a search for Dr. Kelly's name and only came up with one person who saw him recently, and her experience seems to have been less than great. I used to see his name on here all the time, but not so much lately. Anyone been to him lately and want to share your experience with me? I'm scheduled for surgery with him on the 13th of this month... Thanks!
