I am very excited to get through this process and get my sleeve done. I called my insurance precertification department to find out exactly what they require to get approved for bariatric surgery. I have First Health Network PPO and the claims are processed by Mutual Assurance Administrators. I was told 5 yrs obese history through Dr. records, be 100 lbs. overweight or above 40 bmi with a comorbidity aggrevated by weight. I also need 6 month of Diet supervised and documented by dr. or two 3 month diet attempts all with in the last 2 yrs. I am currently dieting under my PCP guidance. I have been dieting since May 21st. I have attended the Bariatric Surgery seminar required through the Dr. my PCP referred me to and have my first consutation with him July 19- in 1 week. I am excited to get this process through the surgeon started and I hope it goes smooth and I get approved the first time. I will keep yall updated. I am trying to get this surgery done before the end of the yr since I have already met my out of pocket for the yr. Wish me luck and PRAY! Thanks!
