My life is pretty boring. I'm Ashley, 23 years old, live in Oklahoma. Work full time as a medical receptionist, and go to school for court stenography. I love to sing, have been performing since I was 11. I am single, no kids, and still live with my parents. I've battled my weight since I was 6... And that's about all there is to me. :-P ~*Ash*~

I love it. I got the lidocaine pump, and I got demoral in pill form. I've tried to avoid the pills just because they knock me out everytime I take even a half one. I'm not near as sore as I was yesterday. Each day is better than the one before. Yesterday I could feel the soreness even sitting, today only when I am moving alot. I went walking last night, not too far, but just to get myself up and about. My mom is an RN so she's like my personal nurse, and she's making sure that I get everything I need in, vitamins, protein, iron, calcium, etc. I made a spreadsheet, so we can keep track of everything I've taken in. So far I'm doing ok with the liquids, altho I figure it's only a matter of days til I start longing for something more solid. My sister is supposed to be bringing my babies over today (I have 2 nephews, and a neice), so I'm excited about that. I also never realized how many abdominal muscles it takes to sit up, and move around... Ok, I'll stop rambling now. ~*Ash*~

Thought I'd check in with you guys. I had my surgery yesterday. Had to be there @ 6:15 to check in, and I got an IVC Filter. Then I was taken back about 9 or so.. (It's a tad bit fuzzy), and was home by 4. I don't have a tremendous amount of pain, just soreness, like I did a million sits up last night. I got an OnQ pain pump, so that's helping alot. Haven't had any major gas pains, just soreness in my shoulders from it, but that was expected. My mom's an RN, so shes my personal nurse. I've had a ton of people call to check on me, and ask if they can come visit me. So that makes me feel good. :-D Hope everyone's having a good month so far. Congratulations to those who have alread been banded, and good luck to those who are soon to be! ~*Ash*~

Yes! That was the one. He joked about being beat up by a girl the entire concert. From what I understand he fell asleep, with his legs stretched in front of him, and just happened to be TOUCHING her armrest (They make it sound like he was kicked back with his foot up on top of it), she asked him to move (him being asleep, didn't hear), and he apparently woke up to this woman beating on him... I really don't think he is at all the diva the media makes him out to be. It was one of the most intimate concerts I'd ever been to, and I really felt like he cared about his fans, and he wasn't just there to perform, he was there to perform FOR us. And he openly communicated with the audience the entire show. (The Brady Theater in Tulsa is not a very big venue) ~*Ash*~

Hey guys, just wanted to check in, let ya know I'm still here, and alive. (Altho I'm going NUTS on my liquid diet...) Just 2 more days! I'm excited, nervous, you name it, I'm feeling it. Hope everyone's weekend was good. Mine was great! Went to see Clay Aiken in concert. If anyone ever gets a chance to see him, I would definitely suggest it!! ~*Ash*~

I have never heard of this. I have had an acrylic overlay on my nails for the past 6 years... am I going to have to remove them? Is that common? ~*Ash*~

I am one of the few people that it actually had NO effect on whatsoever. So I think it just depends on the person. It didn't give me energy, make me feel full, nothing it was supposed to do... ~*Ash*~ -
I just started using my CPAP machine this week. The mask I have is very basic, and just has 2 soft plastic/gel pieces that I insert into my nose. I haven't been able to sleep a night yet because the nose piece keeps falling out, and the sound of the air blowing elsewhere wakes me. Can anyone help? Has anyone else had this problem at all? ~*Ash*~
-
Yeah it was Sleep Center of Tulsa. And this is the mask I have (The link above just sent me to cpap.com) Opus Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask ~*Ash*~

I haven't been able to find any thing similar to my mask online, and I have my paperwork at home. So I'll have to get back to you. All the one's I've seen similar to mine have a chin strap, which mine doesn't, I think that might help me actually. ~*Ash*~

The HC234 Humidified CPAP Machine Fisher & Paykel HC234 Humidified CPAP ~*Ash*~

It's not the sound of the machine. It's when the nose piece comes out, the air leaks (So to speak) rather than going in my nose, it blows outwards, THAT's the noise that wakes me up. Other than that one little piece coming out, I LOVE it. ~*Ash*~
-
I don't want one that covers my whole face tho. I like the fact that it just covers my nose, it's just there's a little nasal piece you take in and out (to clean and what not), and I can't get it to stay in place. I've thought about taking medical tape, and taping it down... what'd'ya think? ~*Ash*~

A thread for Single Bandsters
AshRae84 replied to NewBeginnings2018's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ya know it's funny you should mention that, because a friend of mine and I were discussing this. My ex boyfriend got married, and she was talking about his wife (Whom I've never seen), and I said that he never really did date very attractive girls (Except for me of course), and she commented on how a girl he had dated "Gina" was pretty she thought. My response was "Yeah, I guess so, but she never smiles. What's pretty about someone who walks around like they hate the world?" She said "You have a point..." ~*Ash*~ (Sorry if that was incoherent rambling) -
The only problem I have is that it's AshRae, not Rea. :-P ~*Ash*~

I think age is a BIG factor for me. Men my age are either extremely shallow, or just looking for a one night stand. The guys who are interested are either older than my father, or barely out of high school... I want someone I can grow old with, not someone who's already beat me to it! ~*Ash*~ -

I have no problem with the act itself, in fact I quite enjoy it, but I'm not big on the conclusion happening in my mouth (For a lack of better terms.) Think I could just say "Well now that I'm banded, it's not allowed..." lol I think it'd be quite the excuse myself. ~*Ash*~ -

Good question, and I think the answer is no... Apparently, according to a good guy friend of mine, when a girl says she doesn't want to play games, she means "I can't wait to get married." Which is an ignorant notion. But now I've banned the usage of that phrase from my vocabulary. ~*Ash*~ -

I think alot of it is that I don't get out much. I do all my dating online. I have no friends to go out with... And I have an extensive past, which I try to avoid discussing, but IF a guy asks, that will send him running for the hills... And well... the fact that I weigh 315 can't help... ~*Ash*~ -
Thanks. Im attempting to stay involved, but between work and school, and the fact that these boards move so damn fast, it's hard! ~*Ash*~

The weird part? I'm OVERLY confident. (At least on the surface) I exude much more confidence than most skinny girls I know. I've actually been complimented before from guys on how they like the way I carry myself. I don't know what it is... ~*Ash*~ -

I really hope so. My life is work, and school, and that's rather depressing for someone my age. Well anyone for that matter. I don't know what I'm more ready for, getting out of school, or losing weight. I have no idea what being thinner would even remotely feel like... ~*Ash*~ -

I have been single for over 2 1/2 years, and don't remember the last 'date' I had, so I'm definitely not going to be givin any tales of woe on my dating life. But I love hearing you guys, and living vicariously through you guys... The sad part is, I'm 23, I should be out like crazy. But all my friends are married, and then there's me... Im hoping things will change after my surgery. ~*Ash*~ -
Wow. I've been busy, and haven't been able to check here in awhile... it's easy to get lost as fast as this board is moving. I'm just counting down the days til my surgery... ~*Ash*~
