Plus Size Halloween Costume--Hoping It's The Last!
LessofKelly replied to Sleevedreamz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Honestly. I may as well go as a bucket of chicken. Or a pile of butter. -
I've noticed people referencing incisions and they all seem to be a bit different in location. Mine are roughly centered between my breasts and my belly button, a small one, the biggest one (about an inch and a quarter) a 3/4 inch one and my Jp port drain wound. I also have one small incision directly under where my bra sits. Does this sound similar to anyones?

Plus Size Halloween Costume--Hoping It's The Last!
LessofKelly replied to Sleevedreamz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ha!!! So is it witch, m&m or Grecian goddess? I swear those are the only costumes in my size and theres no dignity in going as an m&m -
I think it depends how much yore sweating etc. It takes a lot to cause water toxicity. We had a patient at work have it once, and he drank around 3 gallons in a very short time. He was 17 and about 6'6, he did wind up needing to be hospitalized. Can you cut your water with calorie free Gatorade? That may take the worry away from losing electrolytes.

I never cooked (I can, just hadn't) and since my surgery on the 11th I've been cooking and baking up a storm for other people. All of my pintrest pins are new recipes that I can't wait to make. It doesn't even remotely bother me and allows me to make my boyfriend and father eat healthier because I'm cooking from scratch.

Where Are Your Incisions?
LessofKelly replied to LessofKelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ha! Mine are super glued too! I shower daily an the glue hasn't come completely off yet, but it's lifting. So creepy. It's amazing how different some of the placements are. I can't complain, my largest is barely an inch and a quarter, I've certainly got stretchmarks bigger than that! -
Woman With Extra Hair On Face

I have pcos as well. I've been getting mine lasered off and recently purchased a machine to do it at home. It was expensive but worth every penny to not have to worry about missing a hair and being embarrassed. -

Anyone From New England?

I'm in CT!!!! -
I took three weeks off. I manage a facility for people with intellectual and physical disabilities co occurring with psychiatric/ behavioral issues. I don't want to risk the lifting (wheel chair client with CP is 165lbs dead weight), behavioral attacks and physical restraints. My office is in the basement but more often than not I'm covering the floor due to unreliable staff.

Tried Refried Beans With Melted Cheese
LessofKelly replied to SleeveShelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It really is incredible the vast differences between surgeons. My paperwork specifically says clear liquids for two weeks and don't add protein. Which is definitely not the directive a lot of people got. I got done at Yale by Dr. Roberts and am extremely pleased so far. I'm not completely in love with the way the office is handled (it's a partnership with three surgeons and several post doctoral students) You call, leave a message and they'll get back to you within 24-48 hours. Most of the time. -

Surgery Date 9/17/12 What Are You Doing And Eating
LessofKelly replied to jennaruth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did your doctor say anything about Protein shakes? Mine has me on 2 ounces of ensure 3x a day for nutrients and then push water, clear broth, sugar free Popsicles. This is my first two weeks. I'll see him for a follow up where he will let me know if it is ok to move onto pureed food such as baby food, apple sauce, refried Beans etc. All of my meds have to be crushed or chewable. I don't know if loretab is a narcotic, but if so it will likely cause overdose if you crush it. Was there anyhing on paper, even before the surgery, that said anything at all? -

Congratulations!!! -
You sure did do it right!!! Your arma don't look bad at all!!! I can definitely see the definition in your muscle! That's awesome!!!
-
Thanks fluffy!! Some of the women in the supportgroup I go to have had their arms done, and the scars are so scary looking. I'm going to dig out my weights today.
-
Have you been working out during the six months? I'm terrified because I started at 325, am 5'8. My arms are huge. I'm only 8 days out and not supposed to lift anything over 5 lbs but I'm seriously contemplating starting arms with 5pm dumbbells to hopefully avoid having plastic surgery. Also, my chest was a solid 36C/D before I got really heavy (around 170lbs) I'm hoping hoping hoping it doesn't deflate too much from the 42DD it is now.
-
I'm 8 days out and it haunts my mind as well. I'm thinking if we exercise religiously with weights and squats etc it should help but I'd love to know if there are people who haven't needed it, especially people who have lost 100lbs or so.
