It wasn't worth it for me to change. Between the catheter and Jp drain I couldn't have worn pajama pants anyway. Gown in the front, gown in the back, socks. That's all you really need. (and clean underwear).

I Need Someone To Hold My Hand
LessofKelly replied to Nicci's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I can't even imagine what it is like to have children and have surgery. I dont have kids but I can tell you, this is the best thing I've ever done for myself and I did it so that someday (sooner rather than later) I can be healthy enough to have a child. The horror stories are real. They put every ache and ouch I've had into perspective and make me pull myself up by my bootstraps every day. My surgery went well. My worst issue was having my (horrific pcos cursed) period during the surgery and after. My incisions were a little tender, I hated the drain and the catheter. But I'm alive, I'm down 30lbs in three weeks and I'm doing great. I'm mindful of everyone struggling and I'm thankful every day that I'm healthy and I'm ok. Be positive that you will be fine. Be positive you're doing the best thing for your family by giving them a healthier you. This is good. -

Ready and Toya I'm so sorry thinks aren't going well. You're both in my thoughts. -
I'm 5'8. In between the tall and the shorter. I started at 330 and am down 25. My surgery was sept 11. My surgeon doesn't make goals but my own personal goal is 175/180. I weighed between 160-180 when I graduated high school (I'm 32) and that's when I feel I looked my best. We'll see.

Stop Losing 2Nd Week......anyone Else?
LessofKelly replied to loveit1222's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll be three weeks out on Tuesday and my scale stopped moving at 25lbs down a few days ago. I haven't been getting enough water or protein though so hopefully it picks up again in a few days. -
Telling Wveryone Or No One
LessofKelly replied to Mich grand's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I told three friends, my father and a job I was interviewing at. I wanted it kept private, my father, however, is an old Italian with a big mouth. Everyone knows. His neighbors (he lives in the house we grew up in), his entire side of the family, my mom passed last year but we had to go to a memorial service recently for one of her cousins and before I even got there everyone there knew (I didn't know anyone there even though they were family, awkward) and of course once people know it's all they want to talk about. If you want your "secret safe" (not that it has to be a secret, but if you prefer discretion) make sure whomever you tell comprehends that. -
Really Random Question...guys Beware
LessofKelly replied to twoplusone227's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have pcos and have had my period since May. 5 straight months. I had it during my surgery as well. Not to be repulsive but I also have fibroids. It made for a very uncomfortable hospital stay but the surgeon was fine with it and it didn't effect me or my recovery. True story about not being allowed tampons, bring your own pads, the hospital ones are awful. -

Surgery And Recovery Alone
LessofKelly replied to chad2rad's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Crystal light flavor packets for your Water. Some people cannot stand water post op, for a while at least. It goes down easier disguised as lemonade. Your doctor will probably suggest a Vitamin with Iron (chewable flintstones works for me, the red box) and a chewable Calcium supplement. Citrical makes some. Also a chewable antacid. Pepcid chewable is harder to find but CVS makes a store brand. I got my broth and cream Soup in the carton so one would last me a whole week in the fridge. Maybe some yogurt? -
Surgery And Recovery Alone
LessofKelly replied to chad2rad's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stayed 2 nights. The day I came home I was tired. It is do-able alone. Can you do your shopping ahead of time? That will make it easier on you afterward. I got my vitamins, sugar free Popsicles etc before I went in. -

You're making a lifestyle change that will benefit yourself and your daughters. That's a beautiful thing. The day of surgery you're going to be exhausted. I didn't even turn the tv on. How long is your hospital stay anticipated to be? -
Tommorow Is The Day!

This is great!!!!! Congratulations!!! -
I didn't have a pre op diet either. I had nothing by mouth after midnight the night before. Because I was nervous, I stopped eating solids three days before and on the day before, stuck to clear liquids but that was my own doing.

LessofKelly replied to Estella's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This is my group! I get lasered every six weeks. 6 sessions usually lasts me a few years. There is significant difference. Now I seem to be sprouting hair on my cheeks (what the heck!) pcos will drive me to drink I swear. I also bought a sensi epi light machine thing o use at home after my treatments are over for maintenance. -

I had the glue, two weeks out and my incisions look great!

Exactly how my hair is. I wasn't sure if inverted was the right word. But yes! It looked cute and thank god because the rest of me was a hot mess.
