Before And After 90 Day Results
TamaraS replied to Repoman's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Not so well here, I have made a lot of unhealthy food choices and havent been excersizing *cringe* (so hard to admit). I am still trying to figure out when I am full and oh my, head hunger is no joke!! I got some great advice on here to get back to the basics and start treating my sleeve better before I destroy it. Stories like yours reminds me it is possible for me to get to where I want to be! I just need to make better choices -

Lisa, what is the amount you consume when eating something like chilli or tuna?

I have been making some really bad food and drink choices. I can honestly say I had no idea this would be so hard. I am 5 weeks out and have had no issues with any food and I started eating regular food a week out. Even though I can only eat 20 percent of what I used to eat, the scales not budging because im not making healthy food choices. My question is this, Has anyone messed up the first month but later was able to get it together? With the first month being so crucial for healing and weightloss I have a feeling if I didnt follow the rules during this time I wont get it together... I hope there are others who have struggled the first month but had success and met there goal down the road. really hating myself right now

TamaraS replied to Lollyx3's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I lost 17lbs the first week then barely anything the following four weeks but its my fault. I havent been drinking enough water and been snacking. Back on track though, change sure is hard! -

I was so worried when I stopped losing weight after week 1. i stalled for almost 3 weeks :/ I tried everything humanly possible to break the stall and I dont believe it can be broke until your body decides to adjust. it just broke the lest few days and with in that short period of time i dropped 7 lbs. YAY, hang in there. It WILL happen for you!

How Did You Tell Your Gamily And Friends?
TamaraS replied to Jimbo_D's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wasn't worried about what they would say because I made sure to make my mind up 100% before I told them. I have been really overweight my entire life and they have all seen me struggle with it. my parents were not super supportive but I put it down and made sure they knew not to talk badly about my decision but I did allow them to express their concerns (but only once). My brother was totally against it but again I let him express his concern once and told him I didnt want to talk about it again. My husband was extreemly supportive and so are my friends which was really nice. I can only suggest you set boundaries and let them know what you will and wont want to hear from them. Maybe you can simply say if you are not supportive I would appreciate you keep the negativity to yourself! Good Luck Jimbo!! -
Hello To All,lets Introduce Ourselves Were Family Now
TamaraS replied to Quianna Armstead's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I actually had a 2 week Stall but I am still very happy because since surgery a month ago I have lost 21 pounds! I started getting so upset and frustrated with myself during the stall and "slow weightloss" but then I really put things back in perspective. If I do my best and lose 20 pounds a month or close to it, I will be down 100 in 6 months!!! How crazy is that?!?! I Isn't it exciting to see the scale moving downward? I know I would not have been able to lose weight and keep it off without my new little tool. I am so thankful for it -
I hear excersize will definitely help!

Sleeved Soon!
TamaraS replied to scarletskinnygirlinside's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats on getting your date! I too depend heavily on food but for the last four weeks I have been trying to adjust with my new tummy. I think it is completely normal to be a bundle of emotions up until surgery. Afterwards when you start healing up and are on your way down, all the nerves and stress are completely worth it -

How To Find Your Necessary Amount Of Protien
TamaraS posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
"The Institute of Medicine recommends that adults get a minimum of 0.8 grams of Protein for every kilogram of body weight per day to keep from slowly breaking down their own tissues [39]. That's about 8 grams of protein for every 20 pounds of body weight."http://www.dsfacts.com/protein.html Very interesting, this put me at a need for 120 grams I was checking out a fellow members post about weight stall, http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.html, incredibly informative and found this protien information. They also talk about carbs, http://www.dsfacts.com/carbohydrates.html, if your curious -
